Hello friends and enemies! You can call me Cactus, because my real identity is going to remain shrouded in mystery (see: I don't fancy giving out personal info on the internet), and I love to tag games, interacting with people, and I'mn finally ready to hang with the writeblr community! My asks and inbox are open, as is my mind 💪
I don't post much about my WIP (or at all sometimes 💀), but lots of memes and writing advice, specially on my Instagram :D
Do I share anything of my original writing? well.

AMPO—Do you understand, darling, how often immortals do so wish to die?
AMPO—What could go wrong? It's a deal with the devil, idiot, it's already gone wrong!
AMPO—I think, looking back, this was all Walter's fault.
AMPO—And as the noise swelled outside, something inside of him swelled, too.
AMPO—Let's make one thing clear: this is not a confession.

does anyone else not have a consistent writing style? I feel like I switch writing styles depending on the vibe of each project and then I always end up worried it won't sound like I wrote it
oh! oh! speaking of which writeblr, I need some inspiration for composing vengeance
so if anyone has any batshit insane pieces of classical/instrumental music, I would be glad to have them (to add them to a collection and write with them in the background)
🙏 writeblr gods please see this, shine down upon my post from beyond pls 🙏
my boyfriend and i have recently taken over the discord server we met in and are trying to revive and grow the community there -- its a lovely cosy server open to fans of writing, art and character design, anyone who wants to make new friends to create and explore their imaginary worlds with or find peers to review and read their work
we also now have the facilities to post your own long-form stories, comics, galleries or blogs for other people to enjoy and react to in our own community hub (but truth be told rn, just between you and me, it's a lil bit empty -- and we'd love to have your incredible creativity to fill it)
it's very lbtq and poc friendly, and we hope many of you will make it your writing, art, and creativity home. it's also (drumrolllll) RIGHT HERE GUYS: [insert discord invite]
writing thought of the day: i find "you have to write every day to be a writer" to be, just. hilariously out of touch.
people have jobs, kids, school, housework, clubs, hobbies, hangouts, events, other groups, other general obligations. people have disabilities + flares + fatigue. people get sick. Writing every day is attainable for very few people.
additionally, i do not believe that shoving words onto the page to fill a daily quota makes you a better writer. While i do think there are benefits to routine and to writing often/appreciating quantity, i disagree with the notion that you will get better in a meaningful and repeatable way if you're just forcing yourself to write, while not wanting to, while not even thinking about what or why you're writing what you are. Maybe it's because i'm an artist, but like... most people agree that studies + learning fundamentals + thinking about how you draw + STEPPING BACK is necessary for faster/better improvement. Why wouldn't that also apply to writing?
you're completely right, and more people should say it 👏
forcing yourself to write every day is how you burn yourself out and end up in a slump where you find it harder to write....which then makes you feel like less of a writer because you think you should be writing every day, and then the slump deepens as you lose enthusiasm, and it's just a vicious cycle man
and writing is like. an individual, personal process, it's not prescriptive like that. and like you said, people can be a writer...on the side
what do i enjoy to read? i love thrillers, dark academia, classics, romance (usually almost always queer romances), horror, drama, and mystery.
what am i currently working on? im currently working on the first few chapters of a work that i plan to release on ao3 soon. it's very gay and im very self conscious about it so i hope people enjoy it
i plan on using this to post moodboards and aesthetics of the characters, chapter updates, responding to people who read itt, and whatever else comes upon my dash from writer tumblr <3
