Anyone with the chutzpah to wear all-white shoes out and about immediately earns my respect. I'm careful enough to get by without soiling a white shirt or pants (I even own a white hat), but our feet (and therefore our shoes) are always touching the nasty ground.

One thing online writing sites should do is implement a YouTube-style monetization system (not EXACTLY like YouTube's, but you get the point). Being able to make a living from writing with no voice-stifling editors and no exhausting book tours would be lit.

Frankly, I'm surprised Wattpad hasn't done this by now, considering they have no problem slapping ads in the middle of chapters. 🙃

Being autistic, living downtown, and it being America's 250th anniversary really is the worst combination. The fireworks are extra loud this year, and it sounds like I'm in the middle of a warzone. 😖

Frankly, if it weren't for the recent wave of DSA wins, I wouldn't be feeling patriotic at all today. America's never been a perfect country, but it's certainly been a while since I last felt this optimistic that things will get better. 🇺🇸

Since it's Pride Month, here's a writing principle that shouldn't have to be restated 🏳️‍🌈 🏳️‍⚧️ :

There DOES NOT need to be a narrative reason for a character to be LGBTQ+. Different kinds of people exist in real life, so that's all the justification you need to put them in fiction.

It's perfectly valid for a queer character to already be at peace and out of the closet once the story starts. I'm sure most individuals (regardless of demographic) would rather be known for things other than their innate identities, so why not write characters that way too?

If you share your writing online and a commenter asks why your character is X, then just ignore it, and maybe block them too if that's your style. Not every detail needs a dedicated scene to flesh it out or a significant role in the narrative. Sometimes a chair is just a chair.

Life in your late 20s is looking young enough to where everyone assumes you can't drink or buy M-rated games yet, but also looking old enough to where you can pass as your own parent and everyone assumes you have kids.

The Shadow Quiz minigame is so damn cheap sometimes. Most of the food items are on the same plate, which means they all look the same as silhouettes. I can count on one hand the number of times I've guessed them right. 🤬
