New Comic Book Day Thoughts
I decided to do a new thing for my blog. I’ll be doing quick break-downs of the comics I buy every week and give my opinions on them. These are the comics I picked up for the week of October 14th, 2015. Contains minor spoilers.
Spider-Gwen #1 - New story line will involve a villain from Gwen’s past. Contain’s flashbacks to showcase Gwen and Peter’s relationship and the event’s that led to Peter’s transformation. Feels like a stronger first issue than the Spider-Gwen #1 that premiered prior to Secret Wars.
Captain America Sam Wilson #1 - Focuses on how Sam Wilson is trying to differentiate himself from Steve Rogers as Captain America. It appears that the series will discuss larger social issues that the country is facing. The new direction is unique, but some people may not enjoy the art.
Ms. Marvel #19 - The final issue of Ms. Marvel before the series comes back next month with a new #1. Expands on the ending of issue #18. Kamala and Bruno have a conversation that many fans have been wanting. Really showcased how Kamala has matured since her first issue. One of Marvel’s consistently best comics.
Superman: Lois & Clark #1 - One of DC’s three new comics based on stories from the Convergence event. Story jumps ahead 9 years after the events of mini-series Convergence: Superman. Lois and Clark are now parents and hiding their past lives from their son. A very solid Superman book. Highly recommended for people who miss Lois and Clark’s relationship or miss pre-Flashpoint Superman.
