I will never, EVER write smut, but I do occasionally write some things leaning more towards nsfw (again, nothing explict, I am a mildly sex-repulsed ace). I'm also not afraid to write gore, violence, and horror elements such as yanderes

Alright, so, I know I just posted the staff poll a few hours ago, but this is kind of important (I say "kind of" because it's just a silly poll made for fun).

The first year polls are officially over, so it's time to announce the winner!

...is what I would have said under normal circumstances.

The thing is, I originally posted the first year poll for the Twisted Wonderland community only. But, later on, I decided to make it more general. So that means there are two separate polls for the first years.

Here's what happened: Epel won the community-only poll, but Ace won the general poll. That meant that I had to calculate how many people voted for them in each poll to determine the winner.

However, it turns out that Epel won by two votes. Two votes!

It should have ended there, right? Epel won, albeit barely, so I should declare him the winner, yes?

But...two votes? That's insane!

Taking several factors into consideration, I decided to make a tiebreaker to settle this for good. If you have doubts, feel free to ask away.

(No, I promise this isn't because of biases or anything. Yes, I swear I like Ace just as much as Epel. "Cross my heart and hope to die", as the saying goes, that I love Epel and don't hate him. Like I have already stated, this is just a silly poll I made for fun. It's not a big deal on who "wins" or "loses"; a character you like/think is queer coded not wining a poll doesn’t mean anything. i don't really want to weight in on the "using big words in your writing is ableist" discourse happening on tiktok because i'm like 90% certain it's an anti-intellectual psyop to stir up drama in online circles to promote the use of ai to summarize literally everything and thus feeding the LLMs and lowering the populace's mistrust of such tools but i also have to say: dictionaries and thesauruses are the most accessible they've ever been. if you use an e-reader of any kind you can look up a word without leaving the page. there's a plethora of online dictionaries and if you just type a word + "meaning" into google it'll usually give you a definition. we used to have pocket dictionaries we used when reading in class. i have two on my shelf right now that i used in high school. stop letting the fascists purposefully misuse anti-ableism rhetoric to trick you into never thinking again.

(Or how I make up excuses to blabber about my OC lol. Most of the "who" questions are aimed at the twst cast, but feel free to include other twst OCs as well!)

Name: What does your twst OC's name mean? Why does Rook/Floyd call them [insert nickname]?

Inspiration: Is your twst OC inspired by any villains? Concepts? Anything Disney-related?

Age/Birthday: How old is your twst OC? When is their birthday? Whose birthday (among the cast) is closest to your twst OC's? Does the horoscope lie or do they get along well?

Dorm: Which dorm is your twst OC in? Why? Which qualities they have make them suitable for said dorm? Do they have a roommate and how is their relationship?

First things first, the OC I'm using for this ask game is one of my "unused" OCs (which means they're currently not part of any fic, AU, etc. I'm working on), so there's some information I'm currently unable to answer, and some things might change in the future. This is meant to help me flesh out my OC (and for the funsies, of course)

Also I'm definitely maybe going to do this again with my other OCs. I have a lot of them

1. Name: What does your twst OC's name mean? Why does Rook/Floyd call them [insert nickname]?

My OC's name is Mel Banashi (he/him pronouns). The reasoning for Mel's name shall be explained below in the second question.

Floyd would call Mel Jellyfish. Why? Because Mel's constant/semi-permanent levitation reminds Floyd of a jellyfish (I can't remember if there's another character already called Jellyfish by Floyd, but oh well, if that's the case Mel can be called Moon Jellyfish to be more specific).

As for Rook? He would call him Monsiuer Fantôme. Why? Well, you'll see.

2. Inspiration: Is your twst OC inspired by any villains? Concepts? Anything Disney-related?

Mel is not twisted from one specific character, exactly, but a mashup of different things.

He's based on: Melinoë, the Greek goddess of ghosts (amongst other things) and the daughter of Hades and Persephone (well, in some versions it's Zeus and Persephone, but let's not get into it); banshees, female spirits from Irish folklore that forewarn of an upcoming death; and the souls of the Underworld from the movie Hercules.

These inspirations are what his name is derived from: Mel is taken directly from Melinoë, and his surname Banashi is a play on the word banshee.

3. Age/Birthday: How old is your twst OC? When is their birthday? Whose birthday (among the cast) is closest to your twst OC's? Does the horoscope lie or do they get along well?

Mel, a second-year, is seventeen. I was debating whether to make his birthday the release date of Hercules, the release date of Hades II, or Halloween. I ultimately decided to make his birthday a mix between spooky month and the release date of Hercules: October 13.

4. Dorm: Which dorm is your twst OC in? Why? Which qualities they have make them suitable for said dorm? Do they have a roommate and how is their relationship?

Mel is in Ignihyde. Like his fellow dormates, Mel is an introvert and has a bit of trouble socializing, although it's nowhere near as bad as some of the others (*cough especially Idia *cough*).

But these qualities aren't the reason he was sorted into Ignihyde. Even if Mel tends to break technology more often than not — ghost shenanigans don't mix well with machines, unfortunately — he is still very crafty, resourceful, and intelligent. And, like the King of the Underworld, he's very diligent, always seeing his chosen task through to the end, no matter how challenging it may be...as long as it interests him.

As for roommates, all second-years are required to have one roomate (unless they luck out), so yes, Mel has a roommate. They don't exactly have the best relationship. His roomate is very scared of him, and Mel also tends to accidentally piss off his roomate because, again, ghost shenanigans don't mix well with machines. They tend to avoid each other as much as possible (Mel doesn't really sleep in his room anyway, and it's not like he needs much sleep in the first place).

5. Class: Who is your twst OC's classmate(s)? How would you describe their relationship? Did they have different classmates in previous year and did they get along?

I'm not touching the whole schedule thing unless I have to. Do we even know their schedules? That's a headache I'm not looking forward to (because yes, this will haunt me one day).

6. Height: How tall is your twst OC? Are they conscious about their height? Are they close to someone with similar leg length?

Mel is 172 c.m (approximately 5'7 f.t) tall. He honestly does not give a damn about his height, especially since he's constantly levitating anyway.

7. Hair/Eye color: What are your twst OC's hair and eye colors? Who got the closest/opposite palette to them?

Mel has almond shaped lavender eyes and wavy periwinkle hair styled somewhere between a wolfcut and jellyfish cut (oh, would you look at thaf, another reason for Floyd to call him Jellyfish!).

8. Homeland: Where is your twst OC from? Do they know anyone from the same hometown prior to NRC?

Ah, to be honest, that's still a major work in progress. It's probably going to end up being a fanmade/original location anyway.

9. Club: Which club does your twst OC join and why? Is there anything memorable about the club fair day/their first day at the club? Which clubmate is their favorite?

Just like Malleus and Jade, Mel has his own club all to himself: Ghost Etiquitte and Research Club. This club mostly consists of Mel having tea parties and gossiping with the ghosts of Night Raven College (they're having the time of their unlife).

Fun Fact: ghosts LOVE Mel. They take one good look at him and boom it's insta (platonic) love. He's their precious little darling and they'd do anything for him.

10. Subject: What is your twst OC's best subject? Worst? Do they study with another whom excels at the same subject? Do they ask anyone for help with the subject they are bad at?

Mel's best subjects are flight (he's a natural!) and potionology. His worst subject is history (fun fact: he struggles with undiagnosed dyslexia, so it doesn't exactly make it any easier for him).

Despite Mel's one-sided war with technology (technology is the one waging the war), him and Ortho are the bestest of friends. Somehow, someway, they wormed into each other's hearts during Mel's first year. Other than the ghosts, Ortho is always the one Mel looks for when it comes to anything. He's the only non-ghost friend Mel has (well...).

11. Hobby: What are your twst OC's hobbies? Who among the cast will they possibly ask to join in their pastime?

Mel loves dancing, especially when it's raining. He's very shy about it and would absolutely implode if anyone caught him in the act, but he finds it relaxing to twirl around in the rain.

Mel loves gossiping with his ghost buddies; so much so that yes, it's considered a hobby.

He dabbles a bit in art, specifically painting with watercolors.

His favorite hobby of all-time is definitely experimenting with magic. From practicing different combinations to making his own spells, he could spend ours playing with his magic if weren't for a silly little thing called blot (and responsibilities).

Again, Ortho is the one Mel always seeks out. He likes to share his hobbies with Ortho (minus the dancing), but Ortho is especially invested in Mel's magical practice sessions.

12. Pet peeves: What are your twst OC's pet peeves and which one in the cast accidentally (or not) commit the "crimes"? How will your twst OC deal with that person?

Mel is actually a very chill individual. I mean, it might just be because he avoids most everyone, but he's pretty lax, and others don't really go out of their way to mess with him. But he does have three major pet peeves:

1: People insulting, disrespecting, or making fun of Night Raven College's ghosts. Those ghosts are his family and he will absolutely square up with anyone who dares make snide remarks to them or, Seven forbid, bully them. It's on sight (the ghosts would do the same for him).

2: When people ask him about his "condition" (will be explained in the backstory part). He LOATHES this. He won't become aggressive like he does when anyone disrespects the ghosts, but it will definitely put him in a sour mood.

3: Sam. Yes, you read that right. Sam's entire existence is a pet peeve to Mel. He's terrified of that man, he creeps him out to no end! Sam finds this utterly amusing.

13. Food: What is your twst OC's favorite and least favorite food? Why (optional)? Is there anyone they can share their favorite food? Is there anyone they can count on to take over the food they dislike?

Mel loves whatever the Twisted Wonderland's version of Mediterranean food is. Although Mel only needs half the sustenance of a normal human, he could eat mountains of Mediterranean food.

Mel's least favorite food is anything cold. Yes, he doesn't like ice cream.

Seeing as Mel's inner circle consists of a bunch of ghosts and a humanoid, he doesn't exactly have many options when it comes to sharing food.

14. Talent: What is your twst OC's talent(s) and who can properly appreciate that?

I would say this has already been answered in the hobbies and best subjects sections.

15. Unique Magic/Signature spell: What is your twst OC's UM (if applicable)? What can they do? What is the incantation? Is there any weaknesses/loopholes and who can exploit those?

"Hear my call, fear your doom, take your life and make it mine, Omen's Rattle!"

Allows the user to take the lifespan of a person of their choosing. The user can either keep the taken lifespan for themself or give it to someone else.

Mel has only ever used his signature spell thrice. He feels extremely guilty after using it, so he never really took time to explore it. What he does know when it comes to limitations is that it can be countered: if Mel becomes distracted, or the person being drained of their lifespan has powerful enough magic, Omen's Rattle will fail.

Mel has no idea how much of a person's lifespan he can take. He doesn't want to know.

Mel, at first glance, tends to be very aloof. When he has nothing do, he'll end up spacing out and daydreaming; a habit that has, indeed, gotten him into trouble one too many times.

He's generally very reserved and doesn't like talking about himself. He prefers listening to what others have to say instead of taking the spotlight. He generally avoids any unwanted social interaction, an easy feat for him to accomplish.

He's a bit of a coward at times, and while he isn't irresponsible, he isn't exactly the most reliable person either. Still, as mentioned in the dorm section, he has a strong sense of diligence when it comes to the things he's interested in.

Whenever Mel is with people he's comfortable with, he's more bubbly, outgoing, and a bit of a goofball. Some would even say he's reminiscent of the happy-go-lucky type.

He can get fiercely protective of those he cares about. He will not tolerate any slights made against the few people who actually give a damn about him.

He's a quick thinker and very resourceful. Trash becomes valuable tools under his swift hands.

Mel is a bit unemphatetic. He somewhat struggles to decipher and understand other people's feelings. You're failing your classes and feel like a failure? You should probably study harder. You burned your hand pretty badly? It will heal with time. Your dog just died? Well, it happens. He doesn't mean to be a jerk; he genuinely thinks it's helpful advice.

And, speaking of death, he sort of has this weird, complex obsession with death. On some occasions it feels like he's obsessed with it, but other times it feels like he's mourning because of it.

18. Backstory: Tell me anything about your twst OC's backstory. Their childhood, their parents, their siblings etc. Does their backstory affect how they are as a character now and how they interact with the cast?

Oh, I should probably give a heads up that this section briefly goes over non-descriptive mentions of child mortality. It really isn't anything bad, but just in case.

Some of you may have an inkling of what Mel's "condition" is after reading everything. Either way, here's the grand reveal: Mel was born half-dead.

I'm still working out the kinks of his backstory, but here is what I have so far.

Mel's mother, Meladora Banashi, was a mortician. She did her work dutifully and respectfully, making sure that the souls of the departed made it to the afterlife prepared. What she never expected to happen was for her skill and gentle nature to catch the attention of a deity of death.

Meladora was reluctant, at first. She refused to believe that a lord of the Underworld was seeing her in person for the sole reason of being in her presence. But eventually, after many encounters and late night talks, the two fell in love.

Years later, Meladora would give birth to Mel. But something was wrong: the birth itself, blessed by powerful magic, went smoothly, and Meladora and the baby had made it out just fine...

Except baby Mel came out the womb already half a ghost, and everyone was absolutely losing their minds with shock and terror. Even Mel's father was left baffled and concerned over his son's condition. Nothing like this had ever happened before.

Mel grew up constantly being on the brink of passing over. Everyone made sure to watch over him at all times and stabilized him whenever he started losing his vitality. Mel was forced to frequently traverse between the mortal plane and the Underworld in order to keep him steady, and it took a toll on his relationships and social skills.

It was only when he unlocked his unique magic at the age of twelve that he was able to live without constantly worrying about forfeiting his mortality. But it came at a heavy cost; Mel sucked out a large portion of his mother's lifespan. She was left permanently weakened and sickly, and in present day she doesn't have long to live.

Mel was horrified about what he had done. His parents assured him that it wasn't his fault, he didn't mean for it to happen, he couldn't have known, but none of their reassurances ever quelled his guilt.

The worst part was that years later, even after Mel had taken his own mother's lifespan, no one could explain to him what exactly it meant to be half-dead. It frustrates him to end, and he wishes he could find an answer to his question; and, by extension, a cure. For himself and for his mother, before it's too late.

When the flames died down, nothing but ash remained.

Buer staggered through the charred clearing, avoiding the small fires that still burned. She held the Gnosis close to her heart, but she did not infuse it into her being like her mother had done countless times before. She didn't feel worthy of its power. She didn't think she ever would. 

The child god took one unsteady step after another, and another, and another, until she stopped, and the world around her warped. Colorful lights blurred her vision, making her wince, and the motion made her dizzy; she could never get quite used to the feeling. 

When the world finally stilled and Buer could open her eyes, the sight that lay before her shocked her. Instead of a beautiful, pristine temple filled with every type of plant imaginable, all that Buer saw was ruins. It was all dead, burned. 

Buer stood there in shock, trying to hold back her tears. She didn't understand where it had all gone wrong. Just yesterday her mother had been smiling without a care in the world, alive and healthy. 

She snapped back to reality when she heard the shuffling of multiple feet behind her. Buer turned to see her mother's sages warily and slowly entering the temple-turned-ruins. They took in the destruction surrounding them, their horror and curiosity evident in their faces. When the Sages noticed Buer, they scrutinized her with apprehension. They were silent as one, for a while, before the youngest of the Sages finally spoke. 

"You're not Lord Bathym,” was all he said. His words were accusatory, and his gaze hostile. He didn't know who Buer was; none of them did. Only the Aranara knew of her existence. 

“Where is Lord Bathym!?” another Sage snapped at her, her demeanor even more aggressive than her fellow Sage, “and who are 𝘺𝘰𝘶?”

Buer backed away from the Sages. She didn't understand why they were reacting to her presence so negatively. She gripped her mother’s Gnosis even tighter, hiding it from the Sages’ view. “She's gone,” Buer sniffed, “forever. I am…I am the Archon now.”

She was only eleven, young even by mortal standards. She wasn't ready to be an Archon, which the Sages clearly thought the same.

Distrustful of Buer, they searched her expression, studied her sincerity. They must have realized she was telling the truth because their expressions turned from angry to grief-stricken in an instant. They whispered amongst themselves, horrified at the news. Then, to Buer's surprise, they looked at her with disdain. 

The eldest, a hunched, wrinkled man with a cane, was the first to speak. “And what is your name, child?” he asked. 

“Buer,” she almost whispered. The Sages were inching ever closer, and she didn't like it. She backed away from them even farther. 

“Why is it that Lord Bathym has passed away?” the Sage questioned, his voice shaking slightly. “What could have possibly killed our beloved Archon?”

Buer's back hit a wall; she was trapped, the Sages blocking any means of escape. She answered the Sages slowly, her voice quiet. “She took it. The…that sickness, she took it with her. She sacrificed herself, I think. I'm not sure. She didn't tell me anything.” 

 𝘚𝘩𝘦 𝘢𝘣𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘥 𝘮𝘦, was left unsaid.

The lead Sage closed his eyes, and the other Sages, once again, whispered to each other. “...so benevolent, sacrificing herself for us…” Buer heard one of the Sages say. She couldn't quite hear the rest. 

“Clearly you're not very important if the Great Lord Bathym did not see fit to tell you of her plans,” the lead Sage muttered. Buer stiffened at that, and for a moment, she felt anger. How dare these mortals judge her when they didn't know her at all! If they had truly loved her mother, they would have welcomed her with open arms!

The Sage opened his eyes, and his features softened slightly when he locked eyes with Buer. “Why don't you come with us, child? We will keep you safe.”

“Safe…” Buer echoed. “What do you need to keep me safe from?”

He simply smiled, and it was the end of that. With great reluctance, Buer followed the Sages as they left the ruins. They continued to converse out of her earshot, although there was no need. Buer wasn't paying attention to her surroundings.

She felt numb, and she feared for her safety. Something about the Sages, despite the fact that her mother had trusted them, screamed untrustworthy.

Buer brushed her suspicions aside. She had been through too much that day to care at the moment. 

She should have listened to her instincts. 

The Sages ignored her, at first. Buer let them lock her in a room, alone with her mother’s Gnosis and her thoughts. She didn't need to be in the same space to spy on them, after all. 

She watched. She watched as they labeled her as less than her mother, called her Lesser Lord Buer instead of just Lord Buer. She witnessed as they wondered what to do with her, and she listened as they lamented over the loss of their Mother Goddess.

The day she snapped, however, was when she found out that they were planning to lock her away forever and use her as a tool. 

Buer had never felt such anger. Her blood boiled, and her vision seemed to blur. She seethed, and she squeezed her mother’s Gnosis so tightly that she swore it almost cracked. She had had enough of the Sages treating her as beneath them. She was tired of their constant comparisons and unfair judgements. She couldn't take it anymore. 

Buer took a deep breath and infused the Gnosis into her being. She could feel its power running through her veins, becoming one with her own in an adrenaline-like surge. What was once her mother’s became hers like some twisted, tragic form of inheritance. 

Buer couldn't recall what exactly happened next. All that she remembered was red, and her anger towards the Sages being fueled by her anger at Bathym; in Buer's eyes, her mother had abandoned her. The Sages actions had brought that belief into the surface, made it a part of her permanently. 

She hated Bathym. 

Buer remembered repeating it like a mantra during her rampage, the only clear detail during her maelstrom of fury. Why wouldn't she resent her mother? As far as Buer was concerned, Bathym had willingly left her pre-teen daughter to rule a nation alone. 

She 𝘩𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘥 Bathym.

When Buer was brought back to her senses, she was covered head-to-toe in blood. 

She had killed three of the Sages: two of them had been impaled by the thorns of unnaturally large plants that had broken through the floor. The third was beneath her kneeling figure, flattened to a pulp by her own two fists. The remaining Sages were huddled together in a corner, screaming and crying. 

Buer started crying with them. Her body shook, and she started throwing up over the completely broken body. 

What had she done?

“You're not a goddess, you're a monster!” one of the Sages screamed.

“You killed Lord Bathym! It was 𝘺𝘰𝘶, you wretched beast!” another sobbed.

The Sages started screaming accusations and insults at her, their voices growing louder and louder until they unified into one overwhelming, booming voice. 

“No, stop, I didn't mean to! Please, please!” 

The building trembled. The floor cracked, and more plants burst out to strangle the Sages. They let out blood-curdling shrieks of terror as they ran, pushing each other out of the way to exit first. Buer cried and pleaded, but they didn't look back once. 

Buer let out one final, ear-splitting yell before the entire building was engulfed by the power of Dendro, leaving Buer isolated with her tears and memories of better times.

❣ Pitaya had assumed that (C/F) was a full-blooded dragon, which piqued their interest. The possibility of another dragon, besides the other four, freely roaming Earthbread? Of course Pitaya would try to communicate with them! 

❣ Every time Pitaya had approached (C/F), they would run away before Pitaya could get close enough. It was a bit frustrating, but at least Pitaya was assured that there wasn't someone trying to take over their territory (after all, why would someone run away if they were a threat?) 

❣ (C/F) hated dragons; or rather, (C/F) feared dragons and pretended to hate them instead

❣ Dragons tend to label and treat half-dragons as vermin, which (C/F) had experienced firsthand, causing (C/F)'s fear/hatred of dragons

❣ When Pitaya moved in to the palace, (C/F) was out in the jungle exploring, so the two didn't officially meet immediately

❣ When (C/F) returned to the palace to have a nice chat with Hollyberry, they were absolutely outraged and terrified when they found out that a dragon was now living in the palace

❣ After a lot of arguing between Hollyberry and (C/F), Hollyberry managed to convince (C/F) to give Pitaya a chance, since they weren't entitled and racist like most dragons. (C/F) still didn't like the idea of being near a dragon, but they trusted Hollyberry enough to tolerate Pitaya

❣ When Pitaya realized that (C/F) was a half-dragon, Pitaya was immediately hooked

❣ Since they first learned what a half-dragon was, Pitaya was absolutely intrigued by them. The others may have looked down on these beings as abominations, but Pitaya saw them as the ultimate beings, the best of two worlds. One could even say Pitaya envied them

❣ Pitaya constantly bombarded (C/F) with personal questions. How did their parents meet? What type of half-dragon were they? What type of half-cookie were they? Where were they born? Could they shapeshift? Were they strong? Could Pitaya fight them? 

❣ Despite Hollyberry scolding the dragon for their behavior, Pitaya wouldn't stop bothering (C/F), and it freaked them out

❣ Pitaya started stalking (C/F) from afar. They would watch them go on about their day, oblivious to the dragon watching them. Pitaya would study them, analyze their behaviors, and take mental notes of, well, everything

❣ (C/F) would catch Pitaya stalking them several times, but Pitaya would come up with an excuse every time

❣ Eventually, Pitaya's obsession with (C/F) took on a more "romantic" turn

❣ Was (C/F) without a partner? Would (C/F) be willing to take Pitaya as a partner? What would make (C/F) more comfortable around Pitaya? What would their future children look like? These were all questions Pitaya asked both in their head and out loud

❣ Pitaya decided that they would begin to court (C/F) in the cookie way before they did the dragon way

❣ This meant that Pitaya would forcefully ask (C/F) to go on dates together and hold hands in public. Pitaya randomly came up to (C/F) to kiss and hug them, and Pitaya forced (C/F) to cuddle with them in bed. Pitaya constantly gave (C/F) small and simple gifts, which (C/F) always threw away. This could have been seen as cute if it weren't for the weird and slightly creepy things Pitaya said they would do to (C/F) 

❣ The others, when they noticed Pitaya's behavior, tried to teach the dragon that what they were doing was wrong, that this wasn't how you gained someone's affections, but it only aggravated Pitaya- with most of that aggravation directed at (C/F)

❣ Poor (C/F) just couldn't take it anymore and took off, hoping they could get away from Pitaya for good

❣ Pitaya would not let (C/F) escape

 (C/F) flapped their wings frantically, constantly looking back at the rapidly approaching figure. (C/F) might have had a head start, but Pitaya had many more years of experience when it came to flying. If (C/F) didn't think of something quick, then they would inevitably be captured by the dragon. 

 (C/F) looked down at the foliage of the jungle, and an idea came to mind. Pitaya may be faster and stronger than them, but (C/F) practically knew the jungle like the back of their hand. If (C/F) could lose Pitaya amongst the labyrinth of a jungle, then they would be safe and could escape to a different land where the dragon wouldn't be able to find them. 

 With that in mind, (C/F) dove down and crashed through the dense canopy, catching Pitaya off guard. They had certainly not expected (C/F) to take a dive down to the the jungle (although they really should have).

 "Wait, (C/F)! Come back! I don't want to hurt you!"

 (C/F) did not wait. As soon as they recovered from the crash-landing, (C/F) started running for their life, clumsily navigating the jungle floor. Pitaya continued to call out (C/F)'s name, but they did not try to enter the jungle. 

 (C/F) breathed heavily as they ran through the jungle in zig zags and circles in hopes of losing Pitaya. Despite their efforts, Pitaya's wingbeats did not fade away, and they continued to call their name, progressively getting louder and angrier. Nothing made sense. How did Pitaya know where (C/F) was? Why had Pitaya gotten so upset in the first place? Why was the dragon chasing after them? 

 "(C/F), get out of that jungle 𝘯𝘰𝘸 before I burn it down!" Pitaya roared, their wingbeats growing louder; they were now flying right above (C/F). 

 (C/F) ignored Pitaya, believing the threat to be nothing but a bluff. After all, Pitaya wouldn't dare to set the jungle on fire, right? 

 Apparently, they would. (C/F) yelped in shock when a small burst of dragonfire came down through an opening in the canopy. The greenery easily went up in flames, lighting the area in an ominous red glow. "Thisss is your lassst chance, (C/F)! If you don't come up 𝘯𝘰𝘸, I'll ssset it all ablaze!"

 Panicked, (C/F) yelled out to Pitaya "Wait, stop, I'll come up!" They frantically flew up through the jungle canopy to face Pitaya, who growled in triumph at the sight of them. The dragonfire spreading in the jungle suddenly went out, surprising (C/F). They never realized that Pitaya had such control over their dragonfire. 

 "What do you want, Pitaya?" (C/F) snapped, trying not to tremble in fear. 

 Pitaya blankly stared at (C/F) for a few moments before they gave them a toothy grin. "I want you, of courssse! Isssn't it obviousss?"

 "No, no! I don't like you, especially not in that way! Isn't 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 obvious, Pitaya? Leave me alone, please!"

 "Well that'sss not very nice, (C/F)," Pitaya hissed, frowning, "I've been very patient with you for the passst few weeksss. You were sssupposed to fall in love with me, and then you would give me permission to take you away."

 Before (C/F) could yell at Pitaya about how delusional they were, the dragon lunged at (C/F), grabbing them by their arms. (C/F) screamed as they struggled violently against Pitaya. They kicked and squirmed, managing to scratch Pitaya in the face, but Pitaya's grip did not loosen. (C/F)'s efforts merely amused Pitaya as they carried them away. "Sssince you won't reciprocate my feelingss, I'll sssimply have to take you away by force!"

 (C/F) was unceremoniously dumped inside Pitaya's lair after almost half an hour of struggling and screaming. Pitaya, slightly exhausted from carrying (C/F) all the way to their lair, blew some dragonfire on the cave entrance, creating a wall of red flame that blocked (C/F)'s only hope for escape. 

 "There, now you won't be able to essscape, my dragonling." Pitaya declared. They landed next to a now-quiet (C/F) and started caressing their face.

 "I've alwaysss found your kind interesssting, (C/F)." Pitaya spoke, uncharacteristically calm and gentle. "I wasss alwaysss told that I should let go of my fassscination because your kind wasss ssso pathetic and vile. But I didn't lissten. I never lissstened to anything, really. And I'm glad I didn't, becaussse now I have you, my dragonling!"

 Pitaya pulled (C/F) closer to them. The dragon nuzzled (C/F)'s face and intertwined their tails together despite (C/F)'s protests. "You know, it'sss your fault you're in thisss sssituation, (C/F). If only you weren't ssso ssstubborn...but then again, your ssstubbornnesss isss what makess you, you. And I love you ssso, ssso much."

 "No, get off of me! I don't love you, and I never will!"

 "You will alwaysss be mine, my dragonling. You will be the sssafessst and happiessst half-dragon in all of Earthbread- I'll make sssure of it. Welcome to your new life, (C/F)~"

 ❣ Pitaya loves to give physical affection, especially by cuddling

❣ They'll make sure (C/F) is well-fed and comfortable by giving them whatever they want (within reason), although Pitaya has to guess most of the time since (C/F) isn't very communicative

❣ If (C/F) tried to starve themself, then Pitaya would force-feed them. Pitaya will, under no circumstances, let (C/F) neglect or kill themself

❣ Pitaya doesn't mind that (C/F) doesn't reciprocate their feelings- they'll be satisfied as long as they have (C/F). But, say, if one day the good ol' Stockholm Syndrome kicks in and (C/F) returns Pitaya's affections or says 'I love you', then Pitaya will be absolutely overjoyed, and all affection will be increased tenfold

❣ Escape is impossible. (C/F) is 𝘯𝘰𝘵 getting through the wall of dragonfire

❣ Being with Pitaya isn't all that bad...if you ignore the constant mentions of having children, the forced affection, and the occasional beatings Pitaya gives when they're bored

❣ Pitaya loves to see (C/F) fight and derives pleasure from causing them pain (because then Pitaya can comfort and heal them!) 

❣ If (C/F) starts getting just a little too rebellious, then Pitaya threatens to burn down the Hollyberry Kingdom and pick off (C/F)'s loved ones one by one. Pitaya once brought the dead body of an acquaintance of (C/F) and ate it in front of them to prove their sincerity

❣ Pitaya loves to play some kind of dragon version of doctor/scientist with (C/F) by studying them and asking a lot of questions, much like they did back at the palace (except now there was a lot more touching involved) 

❣ Meanwhile, back at the palace, Hollyberry is absolutely pissed at Pitaya

❣ She feels guilty about the situation, blaming herself for not doing anything sooner, but her anger is mostly directed at Pitaya

❣ The first thing Hollyberry does after realizing what happened to (C/F), the first thing Hollyberry does is assemble a rescue party

❣ It wasn't difficult to figure out that (C/F) was being held captive at Pitaya's lair, but it turned out that getting to Pitaya's lair without Pitaya themself was a lot harder than everyone initially thought it would be

❣ That, of course, did not deter Hollyberry for one moment. She was determined to save (C/F), no matter how arduous the journey would be

❣ When Pitaya crossed paths with the rescue party during one of their hunting trips, there was an attempt at a negotiation. This attempted negotiation turned out to be disastrous, since Pitaya refused to give up (C/F) 

❣ After the failed negotiation, Pitaya flew right back to their lair, grabbed (C/F), and ran away to who-knows-where

❣ The rescue party had failed to save (C/F)

❣ Pitaya and (C/F) eventually had five children together, with Pitaya planning to have more (dragons were on the brink of extinction, after all) 

❣ (C/F) didn't know exactly how to feel about their children, but they were at least glad that the children would not go through the same experiences as them (for now) 

❣ With Pitaya content, the children oblivious, and (C/F) slowly accepting their fate, (C/F) would be trapped by Pitaya for many years to come
