Its funny how the MCU stripped away everything that made Hawkeye an unique and interesting character in the comics and just made him a boring white guy with a family. He was a circus freak, thats why he is so acrobatic and loud mouthed, he was an entertainer, and then a villain for a little bit, and then an avenger. But MCU Hawkeye is the most wet blankst of a character ever. Its surprising how many people like him.

He's genuinely my favorite character because he wasn't born with abilities. He worked hard to be good at archery because his mentor and brother were assholes to him. He's constantly worried about not being good enough, that one day he won't be able to make the shot. He been through so much, genuinely would be fine if he was evil (and he's done that) but hes kind at the end of the day. At the end of the day he starts a war with the Russian mob because they throw a dog into traffic. He's friends with Wade Wilson. He constantly thinks of himself as just a guy with a bow despite taking down the baddest of the bad. And everybody hates Jeremy Renner DESPITE Renner thinking of him as the coolest character and advocating for him being deaf in the MCU and then walking because the MCU wouldn't pay him the same amount after he became disabled*. Genuinely the MCU should die. But I fucking love Clint Barton. I don't know if I could ever chill at a dive pizza joint with Tony Stark but Barton absolutely would and he'd tip the waitress extra and get everybody's backstory.

Sorry I forgot that he gets canonically bullied by Kate Bishop who's like a teenager because he's genuinely such a failure of being an everyday person but is also insanely smart and skilled. Like the man canonically has had his pants fall down in front of POLICE and then makes trick shots off his created special arrows. The range. The audacity. Every day Natasha Romanov has to wonder if he's a plant. How did a US Serious Government hire a literal grew up in the circus clown. She had to get to the USA, take a photo of this man who was defeated by pants, and send it back to the USSR like "folks I know I changed sides BUT." And again this man was kicked off the avengers and became an antihero and created such chaos that they went after him. Genuinely what a guy.
