Dropping her gaze to the floor when Taekwoon wanted to know why she thought he was a Card, Liv honestly wished she could turn back time. If only she hadnât told Taekwoon the truth, the guy still would have been blissfully ignorant. But instead of leaving Taekwoon be, she naturally had to start something and now it would be inexplicably rude of her if sheâd not give her friend the full story. Besides Liv hated to leave things unfinished.
âAlright, okay.â She said while she lifted up her head again, âIâll try to explain everything to you as good as I can, Leo. But Iâm sure itâs not going to make much sense to you and I actually fear youâre going to think Iâm crazy.â Breathing out a slight bitter smile she added, âWell, who knows, perhaps I am.â Eyeing the Card for a moment longer in silence the Ex-special class Hero moved then so she could get him a chair. âAlright, Leo, take a seat please because this is going to be a long story. You want some coffee?â Looking up at the tall male she waited for her friend to tell her whether or not he wanted to have some coffee. In case he wanted to have some she of course would get it for him. If not Liv would simply go to sit on the table.
âI thought you were a card, Leo, because of little things which combined make it sort of obvious that youâre a magical creature.â Sending a small apologetic smile his way the blonde wasnât really good with having these kind or talks. To be honest Liv never had this kind of talk before. She never had to explain to a Card what it was or why it was what it was. âFor starters, your appetite canât be sated and you drink a whole lot of coffee. It canât be healthy for a human body. On pictures you look a shade darker. You canât stand the light well and you sleep during the day. Your voice also sometimes gives out for unexplainable reasons.â Biting gently on her lower lip while she sat on the table, the ex-special class hero knew that these things werenât exactly proof of him being something else than a human. All of these little things could be completely coincidental. But what had happened after sheâd told Taekwoon about her suspicion wasnât.
âWhen I confronted you, your magical side showed. You dimmed the lights and you actually spoke in my mind at a given moment. You donât remember it and I know I canât prove this to you but Iâm not lying, Leo.â Eyeing the male she hoped heâd believe her when she told him she wasnât lying about this. The thought crossing her mind that she had to report him to the league Liv was trying to find a way out from underneath it. She didnât want Taekwoon to be caught by some Hero who wouldnât treat him right. He was her friend and he deserved to be taken care of by their Hero. Also if the card sight of him would return to its dormant state, Leo wouldnât be a thread and in that way she was able to protect him from other Heroes and his faith of getting captured.
To be honest, heâd prefer the female to explain it to him on the way. At that moment, Taekwoon felt as if his body could just give up on him and the prospect of going into bed seems more than just tempting to the male. But he wasnât in the position to protestâmore like she didnât give him the chance to, and so he took the chair, leaning his head back onto the seat although he still tried his best to actually comprehend her array of sentences.
âNo, itâs okay...â he said, shaking his head to the offer. It was a tempting one, given, but he felt so weak he didnât trust his hands to be able to even hold the cup. What she said, though, the male barista couldnât really retort toânot just because his voice was barely audible, but because it was all true, the traits she mentioned at least.
But he didnât even know what to do with that fact, if what Liv said was true...
And then a pang of realization hit him, and he couldnât help but look warily towards the female - although rather than threatening, it was more of being wary that she knows something more.
â...Wait, Liv... if you conclude Iâm a card because of those things you mentioned, then you...â
There was no other explanation. If she was an ordinary person, she wouldnât know this... which means she was most probably familiar to the magical side of the world, unseen to everyone else.
She was no ordinary human, either.
â...what... are you?â
