Aries
"We'll reach Komugi Island soon."
Katakuri's low smooth words pulled you from where you had lost your thoughts while you were looking out at where the ocean was going to be meeting the rising sun soon. Your golden eyes noticed the offered out cup of black coffee in the extended out hand towards you and you accepted it with a soft nod of thanks. You were not what one would consider to be a morning person, but you were holding it together. The hot liquid of the gods definately helped and you were glad to see that he seemed to drink it just as much as you did. "In six days... our home together." The words came slowly from you as you tested how they felt on your tired tongue before bringing the mug up to your lips for a drink.
"I'll take you on a tour of Hakuriki Town. We'll be at the house in the morning and then I'll take you to the Town Hall in the afternoon. If you are in agreement... I would like to have lunch... just the two of us, at our home while we're thereâŚâ
It took you a moment to register what he had said to you and you replayed Katakuri's words to yourself in your head slowly as you processed them. It was the last part in particular that threw you off. The moment it clicked, you turned quickly to face him. The movement was so fast that some of your dark, thick curls fell into your face and you had to use your free hand to push them back behind your ear and out of your face. âDid you just ask me out on a date?â Your golden eyes found his crimson ones and began searching his face for any sign that Katakuri was being an asshole or that you didn't hear what you just thought you heard. Were your eyes decieving you? Was that the wind on his face or did you just see a blush spread across his cheeks?
âI⌠wish to know you. Not just the name and the arrangement⌠but⌠you.â
For once in your life, you didn't have a quick or smart remark to make at all. Katakuri had done the one thing that no one else has ever managed to do: leave you speechless. Your heart raced in your chest as you processed his words and completely skipped a beat when you realized that he was being serious. You watched his crimson eye search yours for a response to his request. After taking a few long moments to consider how you felt about what he asked, you found yourself offering him a soft a smile. âI'd like that." Your words were soft as you said them, bringing your mug back up to your lips to hide your smile before turning golden eyes to look back out over the ocean. Katakuri had offered you a glimpse behind his mask and you reciprocated it by showing him a true glimpse of yourself back.
The sun had just broken over the horizon when you docked at Komugi Island. The lack of residents awake at this hour made it the perfect opportunity to tour Hakuriki Town and you walked through the streets next to Katakuri. You couldnât help but to admit to yourself that, even in the early sleepy hours of the morning, it was a beautiful town that he had built so far. There wasnât a specific idea of what you had in mind of what an island owned by him would look like, but what you found was a young town on a young island that was slowly becoming fully established.
It was hard for you to miss the few residents that were out in the early morning hours and hard for them to miss you as you walked with Katakuri. Despite his exterior appearance, it seemed as if the residents in the town were at least comfortable with addressing him as the both of you passed by. You caught the excited glances that you got from the residents. Their excited whispers of your presence next to Katakuri and speculation of you being the the future First Lady of Flour easily reaching your ears. The more braver residents offered you both congradulations on your upcoming nupitals in addition to the good moring greetings as you passed. One really brave resident even mentioned something about a party on the island that was happening during your wedding that they were all getting prepared for. It seemed like even though he had a young small town that he was responsible for, Katakuri was very well respected and maybe even loved by its residents. It was a town that you could easily see yourself living in.
"This is our home."
His words sounded deep and steady as you heard them from just behind you as you stepped through the threshhold into the house ahead of him. It was nothing like Whole Cake Chateau, but it was clear that there would be no lack of space for you or any family you decide to raise here. You couldnât fight the faint smile that curved up onto your lips. âItâs⌠beautiful.â You murmured as you stepped further into the house. Like the rest of the island, the house was farily recently built and you could almost still smell the hints of new construction. Your gold eyes were taking in every detail - the layout, the staff present for your arrival, the flow of the movement through the rooms. You could feel yourself being watched by Katakuriâs crimson eyes as you stepped towards the staff lined up to receive you.
âThese are our staff."
Katakuri gestured to the staff that had assembled and lined up neatly to be formally introduced. You counted a total of four staff as he worked down the line. He introduced you to the personal chef, gardener, caretaker, and a housekeeper. There was no doubt that when you choose to expand your branch of the Charlotte family, that the staff count would grow to accommodate a nanny. Probably even more depending on how much you decide to expand your family, but there was plenty of room to grow.
âThey will ensure the household runs smoothly, and you⌠will find them capable, loyal, and discreet.â
You nodded as your golden eyes flickered over each member of the staff. Noting their proud posture and subtle reactions to your presence. Then, almost imperceptibly, you shifted yourstance. Your shoulders easing, movements flowing like waterâtesting the limits of the room and the staffâs attentiveness. You watched as your shift in body language affected theirs. With just a slight tilt to your head, you watched as it caused the briefest of expressions of slight confusion as they adjust different parts of their posture before resuming their confidence in their stances. Almost as if they had to do a quick check to make sure your change in demeanor was not a result of something flawed on their ends.
âYou may address them as you see fit, I trust you will find their service⌠sufficient.â
You could almost hear a smirk in Katakuriâs words even if you couldnât see it behind his scarf. His eyes met yours and your lips curved up into a confident smile. âI am sure I will,â you replied softly, keeping your voice low as you replied. âAnd if not⌠I will manage.â There was a charge in the air between you and Katakuri. You watched as he inclined his head towards you, you noted a hint of approval in his eyes. There was an unspoken understanding that seemed to have developed between the two of you.
âPlease, let us proceed. There is much for you to see.â
As you two walked through the estate, you continued to subtly test the environment. Your golden gaze swept corners, hallways, and rooms. Katakuri calmly and silently walked beside you as he silently observed you. By the time that you reached the inner garden, the tension between you two had eased some and been replaced by an unspoken bond of recognition between you two. You saw Katakuri glanced at you, his expression unreadable.
The more time that you spent around her, the more you began to understand Big Mom better. You knew exactly why she wanted you to go with Katakuri to Komugi Island the second he told you what it was to him. You had to admit, you kind of liked her style with how she manauvered everything. Making sure you got to see what your future would be like with Katakuri before her tests so that you're more motivated to live up to your reputation. It worked.
Nice move, Linlin.
Katakuri
When the chef had finished service lunch at a set up table in the inner garden, Katakuri dismissed the staff from the house for the remainder of the day. It was truly the first time you two had been alone without any eyes on you before and it felt like his heart was beating a little harder in his chest. There were also some things that he wanted to learn about you and not have others around to overhear his conversation with you. His staff were fully vetted and sworn to secret, but that doesn't mean that he wanted to them be exposed to everything.
âI think I already know, but what happened that made Cara⌠damaged goods?â
Katakuri kept his voice steady even as his pulse was not. His crimson eyes watched you as your golden ones met his. It didn't look like you were surprised to be asked that question, which pretty much confirmed what he thought already. It was an obvious answer anyone looked at the terms of the previous marriage contract. "It's exactly what you think." Even with the faint hint of sarcasm in your words, they confirmed what he suspected. "Can't be a virgin when you're pregnant." He caught the huff of soft sarcasm before you took another bite of your food after he gave a slight nod of his head at your answer.
âThat what I suspected.â
He noticed the shift in your expression as you looked at him and he watched at you chewed. Katakuri could see the the flicker of hesitation and the way your words warred behind your eyes. âJust so youâre not... disappointed later... Iâm not a virgin either.â He watched as your golden eyes held his. Searching, measuring, waiting for a reaction from him. "I was never meant to be married off like this, so I was free to do as I pleased with my own body.â
âThat was Motherâs concern, not mine. I never expected you to be one.â
Katakuri answered evenly. If the truth was to be told, he wasn't a virgin either. He had his fair share of flings and distractions, but nothing had been lasting for him. The heat started creeping into his skin again as he thougth about how close the wedding night was coming up. How soon he would finally be able to have you the way he wanted you in his bed.
âI do want to consummate our marriage but you donât owe me anything after that. If you donât want toâthen you donât have to.â
Katakuri chose his words carefully and his crimson's eyes watched your golden ones as he said the words like they were careful facts. He wanted to be direct about his expectations with you, but he would be lying to himself if he said it was all out of duty and obligation. He caught a brief gleam in your golden eyes as your lips curled into a smirk before you spoek again. "You going to wear the scarf in bed?" He knew you meant it as a joke, but it had legit caught him offguard and, even thoug his was able to keep his face composed, his breath hitched in his lungs.
He watched as the expression across your face slowly change as your golden eyes serached his expressionless face. "You're not allowed to wear the scarf in bed, Katakuri." Katakuri closed his crimson eyes as and took a deep breath to steady his wild heart. He knew you meant it as a tease to try to get a response out of him, but it was a conversation that he himself had not know how to bring up yet. After a few moments, he decided that the best solution was to just say it.
"I wear it because I don't like people seeing my mouth.â
Admitted the words to you felt weird to him, expecially since he has never said them outlout to anyone who wasn't one of his siblings. "I noticed that. How come?" When Katakuri opened his crimson eyes again, he saw that you had stopped eating and was focusing completely on him now. You words weren't taunting or teasing, just a simple comfirmation as if you were stating that the sky was blue.
âI was bullied for it a lot when I was a child"
Katakuri noted as your set your fork down, the shift in your body language turing serious again as you listened to him. "You don't seem like the type to not fight back." He noticed that his palms had become damn again. Fighting for his life scared him less than having an intimate personal conversation wtih a woman he had know for less than twenty-four hours. You had a reaction on him that he hadn't experienced before and he didn't know how to handle it.
"They took it out on Brulee. That''s why she has the scar on her face."
His jaw tighted as the memories of that day came forward. Katakuri's crimson eyes watched you go quiet as he watched your facial expression as you studied his face. Brulee had sat at his table with you on the other side of Oven. He hated seeing the scar on her face every time he looked at her. It was reminder to him about how he had failed to protect her. "Can I see?â Katakuri hadn't been able to hide the ghost of surprise in his eyes as you asked the question. He froze in his action, his air feeling like it had been caught in his lungs.
âIâm not going to be mean, I promise.â Katakuri believed your words when you said them. Closing his crimson eyes, slowly slipped his scarf off and hung it on the back of the empty chair next to him. âI donât see why.â Your voice came after a few moments of silence and his eyes opened to see your golden ones still studying his face, but more intently now. He watched as slowly you reached up with gentle finger tips and touched his face for the first time.
He felt her fingers drag gently across his skin like a feather as she traced the scars on his face with them. Moving down to his jaw line before stopping directly under his chin. âIâll handle anyone who has something to say about it personally.â Katakuri's heart just about stopped for a brief second the skipping of his heart beat was so profound.
He could tell from the resolve on your face that you meant every word of what you were saying. "If and only if it helps you feel better, we can keep the lights off when we have sex." Then your finger tips were gone from his face. He had not realized how close he had been to dropping his face into your palm until you had pulled your hand back from his face.
"What are you getting out of this, Aries? Why did you agree to marry me?"
Katakuri's crimson eyes held golden ones as he watched you silently for a moment as you thought about your next words. It looked as if, for a brief moment, that you weighed if you could trust him before you spoke about your own reasons. âDelilah lets my mother be fully accepted back into the tribe.â He watched as you dropped your eyes from him and returned to working on your lunch in front of you. "She's been banished from the tribe since my birth, but she's pregnant again and her baby did nothing and deserves to be born into a tribe." He noted how you said your words a little fast, as if you were anxious about saying them outloud, but then you also used a slender hand on your fork to stab her next bite, stabbing a little harder than necessary.
"I'm glad to know her alliance to momma means that much to her."
It was the responsible and duty bound answer that came from him and he understood why you would put the value of your siblings before your own. He's done it for years now with his scarf.
âItâs my duty is to my people and it is my responsibility to provide them as much safety as possible.â
Before you had a chance to ask, Katakuri answered the question you didn't get a chance to ask. Talking about duty instead of feelings was a much easier conversatin for him and he could feel his heart start to calm down in his chest some. While he wouldn't of initially minded the princess to give to his people, he like you better for several different reasons. However, this was the one that made the most sense to give and required less continued dicussions about feelings.
âThey will be safer with you as their First Lady than they ever would be with Cara.â
Katakuri didnât mean it offensively, but there was more protection that came with you than Cara. He was no where close to being ready to admit his personal interest as being the real reason. âDoes this mean I have to be like some super hero that prowls the streets at night looking for bad guys?" You got him a little with that one and he found himself smirking at your joke as you shifted the conversation.
The conversation for the remainder of your lunch was more based on what the duties of the First Lady of Komugi Island would be. A conversation that didnât make his heart feel like it was going to stop when he was sitting alone with you. How he felt didnât make sense to him since even in his toughest fights, he has stayed focused and collected and calm. But with you, he had to push... something... down. He wasn't quiet sure what it was yet, but he knew that he didn't like how it made him feel. When lunch had finished, Katakuri moved on to the next part of the days check list: introduce you to the town hall staff.
Aries
Katakuri had you back to the Chateau with plenty of time for both of you to get ready for tonight's dinner party. It was the second day of the week long list of events that were planned by Big Mom to celebrate your upcoming union with Katakuri. The salon was busy with activity as all of the Charlotte siblings and their mother mixed and mingled around the dinner tables. You had noticed how even some of other females from your tribe had become more comfortable at Whole Cake Chateau and were interacting more freely with the other Charlotte siblings on their own.
Your golden eyes watched as your future husband-to-be's presence alone was enough to make the chaos at your end of the table more subdued than the rest at the other tables. In fact, you had noticed that it was almost the exact same people at your table as it had been the previous day. Katakuri sat to your right, then there was Daifuku, then Oven, then Brulee, then Cracker.
Pound sat to your left after he traded seats with Luna, one of the females from your tribe. He had been originally sitting on the other side of cracker yesterday. However, Luna had taken pitty on Pound after watching Cracker bully him and insisted that either Pound or Cracker switched seats with her. The choice could be theirs, but one of them was changing.
You were glad to that Pound had understood that when Luna switched seats, she meant the entire time she was here. He was safe from being picked on by the Charlottes when he was betwen you and Cara at the dinner table. This mean though that Cracker was not safe from Luna and that brought a smirk to your face as you watched her stab his hand with her fork for trying to take food off of her plate.
It was about halfway through your meal when Big Mom's words boomed out across the tables, ripping your attention directly to her. "Aries!" It wasn't just you that responded that way, all eyes turned to the Charlotte matriach. She had everyone's attention when she spoke.
"Ma'am?" Your voice came out in response to her, your voice was confident but curious at the same time as it travelled across the table to where she sat with Delilah next to her. âYouâve got a job. A special one. I want to see you prove yourself.â You noticed as the hush fell even more around the giant dinner tables that were in the salon. You could feel the eyes of the other Charlottes on you, but the only thing you noticed that was the biggest signal to you was that Katakuri's wine glass froze in midair.
ââŚWhat kind of job?â
You noticed how Katakuri's voice was low, calm, but every word he spoke was laced with iron. You had sensed a shift in him towards you after your time together on the island earlier, but you were surprised that he spoke up. You wondered if he wanted to challenge her the same way you wanted to challenge Delilah. You watched as Linlin waved him off with a laugh, clearly not worried let alone threatened by her son's questioning of her authority. âRelax, Katakuri! If sheâs truly going to stand beside my strongest son, she needs to show me what sheâs made of. MAMA MAMA!â It looked like her eyes were glittering with mischief as she spoke her words and it made you even more curious to play her little game.
Katakuri fell silent again and said nothing. You were the only one that was close enough to notice that his hand under the table had curled into a fist. His other staying firmly fixed around his wine glass. âThereâs a marine captain whoâs been on my payroll but there are whispers of him turning against me. A useless little man whoâs forgotten his place. I want him removed â quietly.â Your ears easily caught the whipsers that shot through the room like wildfire among the Charlotte siblings.
âAn assassination?â
âBefore the wedding?â
âMamaâs not playing around this timeâŚâ
However, it was the oldest son that got loud with his complaint and that's what you directed your attention to."What?! Momma!" You watched as Perospero's face went through a number of emotions from where he sat at the next table over. "I don't need help! She'll be more of a hinderance than anything!" You could hear the displeasure in his voice as he attempted to make a condensending barb at you, but failed as you keep your cool expression on your face when looking in his direction.
"I want my pound of flesh, Perospero! You've had more than enough time!" Big Mom's words harsh as they were now directed at her oldest child, her eyes narrowing at him as she expressed her displeasure with his lack of results. "It's time for you to step back and watch how a real professional does it." With your wine glass in one hand, you turned your body towards him in your chair. Your golden eyes finding his brown ones.
"What's the matter, Perospero? Having trouble... getting the job done?" The smirk that slid onto your lips as you spoke. You didn't pass up the opportunity to take your shot at him. Especially not after he had belittled his own wife at dinner the day before. "Don't worry, I'll show you how it's done." Seeing the pure rage ignite in his eyes towards you turned your smirk into a true predatory grin as you let your eneregy shift the feel of the room. You were a professional at what you did, and the Charlotte family would be witnessing it very soon.
The room responded and it almost seemed as if everyone except Katakuri, Big Mom, and your tribe leaned back as one. Even the rowdiest of the Charlotte siblings fell silent at the confidence that you had in your words while there were chuckles that came from your tribe's guards that stood guard against the walls. Big Mom roared with delight at your response to Perospero, slamming her hand down again so hard that dishes jumped from the force. âMAMA MAMA MAMA! Thatâs what I like to hear! Show me your worth, and when you marry Katakuri, Iâll know I didnât waste my time!â Whatever it was that Perospero had wanted to say in response was silenced by his mother's praise of you.
You held his gaze with your grin, golden eyes gleaming with the unspoken threat that you posed to him. It was more of a threat to his arrogant ego than a threat to him phsysically, but if he ever gave you a reason to put him on the other end of your blade... You could feel the heat from Katakuri's crimson eyes on you as lifted your wine glass again, sipping as if nothing had been said.
Cara was the soft one that was raised in a life of luxary for a life of luxary. You were raised by the generals of your tribe who taught you how to grab life by the throat. When you looked past Perospero, you could see one of the generals who raised you standing guard at the door. Though it had been quick, you saw a smirk of approval slid on her lips for a moment before resuming her serious expression. You turned back to your table, your crimson eyes meeting golden ones for a brief moment before they moved on. Katakuri's eyes moved one by one across the rest of the room. Daring anyone to say something and you wondered if maybe, just maybe, Big Mom was testing Katakuri too.

Aries
Fuck, I thought I was tall.
Standing at the top of the ramp, you studied the members of the Charlotte family that had gathered there to greet your tribe as you disembarked. At fifteen feet tall yourself, you were nothing small when you were in your humanoid forms. So to be looking at someone that was taller than you was a bit of a rarity. Not one that you minded, but not exactly one you were expecting.
Delilah started down the ramp in front of you and you slowly followed behind her. She barely came up to your middle thigh when you two were able to be directly compared hight wise to each other like you were now. It was the crimson eyes piercing you that you noticed first and that's what made you lock onto him with your own golden ones. You were not a very friendly person and you looked every bit of the mean bitch that you were, and weren't about to pretend you weren't.
Even though this was your first time meeting her in person, there was no mistaking who Big Mom was. Standing next to her were three tall young men, two to her left and one on her right. It was the one closest to her on her left that had caught your attention. His crimson eyes had locked on you the moment you stepped up onto the plank. You were guessing that he was Katakuri, so you matched his gaze with your golden ones.
The closer you got to the four Charlottes that were waiting for you, the bigger you realized that they were. It didn't matter, you kept your shoulders back and relaxed, your chin held high as you walked towards them. Showing no image other than calm, cool, and collected... and a tad bit on the mean side.
When you came to stand before them, you could see that Katakuri was still an additional two feet taller than you were. The only one that truly intimated with their size you was Big Mom. Her three male escorts were close enough to being your height that, while you greatly noticed the height difference you, you weren't intimated by it from them.
"Linlin!" You heard Delilah's voice from from below you as she spoke. Deliliah was the tribe leader had been a friend and ally of Big Mom for a long time. This marriage was a representation of that and making the alliance 'official'. "It's great to see you again!"
It was obvious as you broke eye contact first, letting your golden orbs take there time as they wandered down Katakuri's body. You were making an assessment of him and evaluating exactly what he was presenting. Your eyes noted the details of his appearance and features as they worked their way back up his form. Your gold eyes once again meeting his crimson ones.
It was a huff of dismissal that came from you as the answer to the silent question. One of Katakuri's dark red eye brows arched down at you in resposne to your assessment. "It's been too long, Delilah." Big Mom's laugh broke your concentration on the man in front of you, your shooting over to watch her movements.
That's a really big bitch!
You watched cautiously as she reached down and picked up the leader of your tribe to bring her closer to her face. "I don't remember this being the daughter that we agreed on for Katakuri." Your arms crossed over your chest as you watched the movement, unable to help the smirk on your face as you watched it. You had picked up your share of people, but to see someone else do it amused you.
"You are correct." Delilahâs words drifted down from where she was above, sitting in Big Mom's hand as she spoke to her. She was the leader of your tribe and able to handle herself well enough that you didn't feel the need to intervene or be concerned despite the size difference. "This is my oldest granddaughter, Aries."
It was your turn to get the once over from Katakuri. His crimson eyes broke from yours as they traveled fruther down your body. It was just a slight hesitation that you noticed, but you noticed the slight hesitation on your breasts. Just the very slightly before moving back up your body. When his crimson eyes made his way back to your golden ones, you smirked at him. "Did something happen with Cara?" You wish he wasn't wearing the scarf so you could see his facial expression better.
This should be good.
"I'm not in the business of providing damaged goods and you know I am impecable about holding up my end of agreements. She is a considerably better alternative to Cara, but the decision is yours if you had your heart set on her." You could feel Big Mom's eyes on you, but you kept yours focused on the mountain of a man in front of you. It wasn't a conversation you were allowed to be invovled in anyhow, so you let your attention move to the scarf that Katakuri was wearing.
I wonder if it's soft...
Reaching out your hand, you went to casually touch the scarf only for Katakuri's big hand to wrap around your wrist. Stopping you with your fingertips just an inch or two away from it. Without missing a beat, your other hand came up and slapped his hand that was on your wrist. Not enough to hurt, but enough to send the message for him to let go of you. When he released your wrist, you brought your hand back down. You now had a smirk on your face as your gold eyes looked him up and down once again. "What is it that makes her a 'considerably better' alternative than the last moon princess?"
After re-evaluating your plan, your hand went back up towards the scarf again in a casual attempt to touch it. Again, Katakuri caught your wrist in his large hand. "Perhaps we can make some arrangments for her to help you out between now and the wedding so you can get the full experience of what her skills really are." This time, when he let go of your wrist after another slap from your other hand, you took a different approach.
This time, your movement was fast as you made a legit move to get your hand on the scarf. Your fingers managed to tangle into the soft material of the scarf and take hold before his hand closed in around your wrist. It wasn't about the scarf anymore and your golden eyes locked with his as you directly challenged him. Katakuri's grip around your wrist was much firmer now and he had taken a step back in response to your movement. This time though, he didn't let go of your wrist when you slapped his hand and just held your wrist in place.
âLet it go.â
Katakuriâs voice was low and even as he said the words, his eyes narrowing as his looked down at you. Crimson eyes locked with golden ones as you held your ground. âMake me.â Your words taunted him with your challenge towards him. You were not built for a weak man to be with and you were going to push his boundaries, so might as well start now. You could hear the other two Charlotte men with him chuckling as they watched you two.
âEnough, Aries!â Delilahâs voice was clear as Big Mom set her back down on the ground. You uncurled your hand from his scarf and he let go of your wrist. Even though you were no longer presenting a threat to Katakuri's scarf, you were even more curious now as to why he had defended it so much.
What are you hiding?
With Delilah back at your feet, you fell back into line with your tribal leader. "My apologies, Katakuri." Deliliah's words came with a sharp look that clearly said she didn't apperciate you testing your future husband so quickly, let alone so publicly. "I told you to be nice to him." She openly scolded you as she walked ahead of you. You fell into step at a respectable distance behind Delilah as she walked with Linlin in the direction of Whole Cake Chateau.
"I'm a delight." Your words came as you walked directly past Katakuri, your eyes holding each other as you walked closer to him. You were mildly suprisied when, at the last moment, he took a step back. Preventing the shoulder checking that you two were on course for and letting you pass by without incident before he fell into place behind you.
Katakuri and his brothers followed behind you up the path as you followed the two matriarchs. Every time you tried to sneak a glance back at him, your golden eyes found his crimson ones studying you. "We have seven days until the wedding. We have plenty of time to work out a new deal." The felt like a heat was on you from them and it made a shiver want to go down your spine, but you surpressed it from coming up. You wouldn't give him the satisfication of seeing that his gaze has an effect on you.
Do you like what you see, Katakuri?
Katakuri
From the moment that he had saw you, Katakuri's heart had started beating faster and even completely skipped a beat when he saw you for the first time. It skipped a second time when you had your hand in his scarf. He would be lying to himself if he didn't admit how much he liked it when you challenged him like that. His palms had been sweaty inside of his gloves and his lungs felt like the were struggling to pull air into them. It was only once he was called back to his own duties as Minister of Flour and seperated from you that his body returned to normal.
Katakuri hadn't of been trying to keep you from touching his scarf earlier. He had been trying to keep you from touching him. His body had burned from how close you were to him and he didn't want you to know the full extent of the effect you had on him. He's never felt like this before and didn't know how to handle it.
His crimson eyes didn't get to take in your form again until Katakuri was able to join everyone at dinner. It was the first offcial item on the agenda leading up to the wedding day and it was already in full swing by the time that he took the empty seat between you and Daifuku. "I was starting to think I scared you off." His heart skipped a beat again when you teased him. His crimson eyes watched as you drank from your wine glass.
"I don't scare that easily, darlin'."
Golden orbs peered out from between long lashes and came to meet his crimson ones. Katakuri liked the smirk that slid up on your face at his response. He had been suspecting you were playing a game with him, testing his boundaries to see how far you could push him. Your smirk at him before you turned back to your conversation with Pound was all he needed to confirm it.
Daifuku was already pouring a glass of wine for him before he could respond. "I've taken the liberty of getting the servants to pull some bottles of the good stuff for you." Considering the fact that two triplet brothers had been present to witness all of his interactions with you yet, he was lucky that they were only lightly teasing him. Though it didn't stop him from emptying the contents of his wine glass in one very casual tipping backwards of his head with the glass.
"Thank you, Daifuku."
Of the fifty siblings that Katakuri had, he was the closest with his two triplet brothers. He cared about all of his siblings, but it was a different connection that he had with them that he didn't have with the other fourty-eight. "I figured you could use it." Daifuku and Oven's chuckling was disarming and he even felt a soft chuckle of his own join theirs.
"She's quite a spicy one." Oven's words didn't surprised him, but it gave him a reason to have his crimson eyes drifting to look back over at you. Katakuri didn't miss the slight tensing in your body language when his brother spoke. Which told him that you had heard what he said and you were intentionally choosing to ignore his comment. He couldn't help being curious since the comment got a reaction out of you at all. He watched as you collected your thick curly hair into your hands and pulled it up higher on your head. He watched your fingers skillfully and smoothly twist your hair up before fixing it with a kanzashi so that it would stay in place.
"What did I miss?"
Daifuku and Oven were more than happen to catch their older brother up while they ate dinner. Katakuri noticed how both of his brothers were very eager to tell him about the story. Both taking turns sharing different parts of how the conflict between his bride and his older brother went. "Your blushing bride threatened to seperate Perospero from his manhood if he didn't watch his comments!" His eyes crimson eyes moved back to your olive skin, working from the swirls starting behind your ear to follow the pattern as he moved inwards and stretched down your back. A series of what looked like different phases of the moon going down your spine and his eyes followed them as far down as the could before the pattern disappeared under the fabric of your dress at your lower back.
"Apparently shifters are matriarchal and don't take kindly to other females being belittled by their husbands." The tone that Oven used when he said the words told Katakuri that his brother had already made his assessment of you. It sounded to him like he was impressed with you standing up to one of them the way that you did. His eyes found his older brother at the other end of the table where he was sitting with his own wife. His brother wisely kept his eyes focused on his wife instead of paying attention to Katakuri. "She'll fit in just fine."
Katakuri couldn't help but to think so as well. "Katakuri." His mother's voice pulled his crimson eyesdirectly to where she sat at the head of the table with your tribe's leader next to her. "I want you to take Aries with you to Komugi Island when you leave in the morning." While it wasn't something that he had planned on doing, he was silently pleased with the order from his mother. "You two need to spend time together without us before the big day." Though he didn't say it, that was something that Katakuri very much agreed with his mother on.
"Yes, Momma."
Without warning, your slender olive hand reached across him and took his mostly full wine glass from where it sat on the other side of him. "What's on Komugi Island?" You question came as parts of your arm and chest softly brushed up against his arm before you sat back in your chair. Bringing his wine glass to your lips and taking a drink from it. Your gold yes holding his crimson ones in challenge. Daring him to do something about it.
"Harkuriki Town. We have a house there."
Katakuri reached over and grabbed another bottle of wine from the table on the other side of him, emphasizing the we part of his sentence slightly. "A pirate... with a house... on an island...." He listened to your words as you said them to him, taking your time to do so as you took sips from his wine glass in between every couple of words. Even as you drank from that one, he reached past you as he grabbed your empty glass from where it was on the table and held it as he refilled it.
"I'm not just a pirate. I'm the Minister of Flour for Totto Land in addition to my duties as part of the Big Mom Pirates."
Once the glass in his had was refilled, Katakuri automatically shifted the bottle over to top off your glass. It was the same bottle as what you were drinking, so he didn't have to worry about it effecting the flavor. "Mmmm such a man of mystery." You words were teasing in nature towards him, though he suspected that there was a little truth in what you were saying about him. He wasn't quite what he appeared to be either. "What if I decide to back out and not marry you?"
"You won't. I know that you're going to marry me."
This was probably the only thing that Katakuri was certain on when it came to you and his answer came out as confident as he felt about it. He knew that you had already decided to marry him just as he had already decided that he was going to marry you. Even though your brought your wine glass up to your lips to hide it, he caught your smirk at him in response. Your golden eyes holding his crimson ones as you did so. Your lack of a response was the only response that he needed to confirm that he was right and you had no intention of pulling out of this marriage.
"Show me back to my room?" It wasn't until he heard them that Katakuri realized how much he had been hoping to hear those words from you. Moving and standing first, Katakuri held one hand out to you as his wine glass stayed in his other hand. When you slid your hand into his gloved one, he felt a his heart skip a beat and he swore that his body suddenly felt hotter where your hands connected. Once you were standing, your hands disconnected as he lead you out of the salon.
Part of Katakuri wished that he had done what he wanted to do. He wanted to follow you behind the closed door of your quarters. He wanted to show you exactly what he wanted to do earlier to make you let go of his scarf. Even though his pants had already become tighter than they were before dinner, he sent you into your quarters by yourself. He wanted to show you what he would do with your attitude when he had you alone in the privacy of your own home. The problem was that you weren't his to take yet and he had to wait.
Katakuri was in fucking trouble and he knew it. You were something that called to a part that was deep down in his soul and he didn't know what to do with his feelings about it.
I think it'd be funny if during thewhole cake island arc that luffy goes through, katakuri has to deal with his soulmate narrating the chaos like a horse race announcer
(You, at a mirror in your home, because Katakuri insisted BrĂťlĂŠe keep you tucked away safely, and wonât let you enter the Mirror Dimension)

You tried to be as casual as you could when you got back. You really did. However, your much smaller crew came back to something that was quite the spectal. After all, you had left all the boys together and it appeared that they had used the time to fight with each other. Which explained all the noise you heard in the background when Law had checked in with you on the transponder snail earlier.
Then you heard it. "KETURAH!" It was Sanji's voice yelling for you over the others. It was hard to miss the particularly sounding painful wail in his tone. Which was unusual when he said your name. "Tell me it's not true!" Normally it was all heart eyes like it was before you left.
"What are you talking about, Sanji?" Jinbe intervened before you had to and you were grateful. You wanted to get to Law so you could update him on your information gathering session. Well, the session that only you and Jinbe so far knew about. The other one you would keep to yourself.
"Shachi told him that she's with Trafalgar." You assumed Brook's words were a joke and didn't put weight into them. Initially at least. By the time that you had gotten to Law, the Soul King's words registered more in your head and your noticed that Nami was also confirming the information that Brook had said. No danishes for you, Nami!
You reached out for him first and your hand found his bicep, your nose filling with his scent. His smell of sandalwood making you feel warmer in your soul. His arm followed your lead and wrapped around you. Pulling you closer into his body. Prompting a playful round of whisles and wolf howls from some of the others who were observing. You tried to fight the redness that sprung up on your face, but could feel the heat spread despite your efforts.
"Apparently we are a hot topic today."
Law's words were said softly, keeping your conversation with him more private. Especially with the eyes look at you and the crying from Sanji drawing attention to the situation. "Let me guess, a Strawhat noticed this little mark you left?" You couldn't help taking the opportunity to tease him.
"I thought it looked good on you."
The look you gave him elicited a smug chuckle from him, even as his cheeks turned red when you pointed to his bite mark. "Well, our relationship status may not be the only topic on this visit with them." You warned him, your down getting considerably lower to avoid being overheard.
"Oh? And what else did you learn on your trip into town?"
"Jinbe knows I'm a shifter." Even though your words were a whisper, they caused a clear change in Law's body language. His body became stiffer and tense. You watched as his eyes casually turned to Jinbe and watched him. He turned away just to turn his face into your ear. Letting the scene look intimate so the Strawhats thought you were talking about something dirty instead of their crewmate.
"How do the Strawhats know your a fucking shifter?"
Your other hand came up to his chest, sliding up to wrap around his neck as your face turned into his slightly. "Just him." Letting your ears rest closely to each other's mouths so you could speak softer to teach other. "He said the other Strawhats don't know." You whispered your words, your skin heating where your bodies touched.
"How does he know?"
When Law's lips softly came to the bite mark that started everything in a soft kiss, your skin almost instantly became hot. "My scent aparently." You responded, your breath catching for just a brief moment. "I must not be the first shapeshifter he's met if he can recongnize it." It was the only thing that made sense to you with the information you had.
"Why is he just saying something about it now?"
"I don't know." You had a million different ideas of why he could of been saying it, but none that made sense. That was what you should be focusing on, not bulge that you felt pressing up against you. "We didn't get to have that long of a conversation about it." You pushed back from him gently, looking up at him.
"Have another conversation with him when you get a chance and find out why he's saying something now."
Reaching behind you with one hand, you retrieved the three folded up pieces of papers that you had been working on. Scouting was what you did for your crew. "Here's the map and my notes, Captain." Your voice was returning to normal this time as you two pulled apart from one another. He took the papers from you before dismissing you. Breaking your eye contact, you stepped away from him. "Let me know if you have a question." You said, moving to go help the rest of the crew unpack everything you brought back with you.
Those bitches better not of touched my danishes!
Once the map was duplicated and dispersed with the information out to the rest of the crews, it was time for pirates to do what they did best. Eat the food Sanji cooked, drink as much of the booze as you could, smoke all of the weed, and do stupid shit with their crew.
You were enjoying the sound of Brook was playing the violin for everyone as you were working on rolling another blunt for the group sitting with you to smoke. You loved hearing how he played it and you couldn't help as you felt yourself sway and move with the music. Humming along with those that were singing.
Franky's words was what brought your blue eyes to look up from where your fingers were delicately rolling the blunt. "Where did you get this weed?" It was his turn with the blunt. "It's really good." You chould help but chuckle a little every time you watched him use his little hands to hold the blunt.
"Old ladies." You told him, finally finsihed rolling the blunt and licking it closed. You didn't mind sharing your weed advice with your friends. After all, you were smoking it with them. "They always have the best weed." Your crew seemed to prefer to let you be the courier for their drugs anyhow. So it wasn't like you had to worry about the old ladies selling all their weed to your crewmates.
"You and your fucking old lady weed."
Law's voice came from behind you as he rejioned your group. He had been part of it earlier, but then had gotten into an arugment with Luffy about if kelpies were real. Somehow, that turned into an arm wrestling match in order to determine who was right. The results of who was right is still unclear.
His smirk at you made you warm from the inside out. "You secretly love my old lady weed." You teased him, taking your weed tray off of your lap with your free hand and setting it on the log next to you. You spread your legs open just enough for Law to settle between them, his back to you as he faced the fire and the rest of the group.
"Is this the same stuff from the danish box?"
You didn't resist when he reached back behind him and took the blunt from you. Captains were always given the first fresh hit if they were part of the circle when a new one was getting lit. "No, this is from Fauna over at the flower shop." You answered, handing him a lighter after you took a second to find it in your pockets. "She's a marine captain's wife." You then told the group, looking as Sanji and Nami came over to join your group.
"The danish weed is for in the morning when I make a fresh pot of that whole bean coffee." You clarified for Law and the rest of the group that was sitting with you. It was a big enough group to where there were several conversations happening at the same time, so not everyone was focused on you.
"You got whole bean coffee, too?!"
Law's excitement was something that he couldn't hide at that as he turned to look up at you, handing you the blunt and your lighter back. Smoking coming from his nose as he spoke. You felt the smile coming up on your face as you put the blunt between your lips before putting. Your free hand finding his black hair and sliding under his hat as they moved softly through his hair.
"If you have enough, I would love to try that coffee in the morning when you make it." You turned to look at Jinbe on the other side of you and handed passed him the blunt. "Of course! I'll bring you some in the morning." You promised him. It would also be the perfect opening for you to try to talk to him alone. You turned back to Franky. "I'll get some from Fauna for you before we leave." You laughed as your responsed earned a super from him.
As your own conversations came to a natural end, your ears happened to of picked up parts of another conversation. One that Brook happened to be in. The thing that caught your attention was the mention of wondering if the monster from this morning was going to come back. It took everything inside of you to keep you from laughing, but you did it.
It helped that Law was leaning back further between your legs to help you distract yourself. He had slid his hat off and your second hand found it's way to his head with your first one. Both hands using your nails to gently scratch his scalp and rub his head. You felt him pull your legs over his shoulders and you felt heat rush through you where he was touching you.
You pull his head back gently with one hand and Law's grey eyes looked up at your blue ones. He has a smug smirk on his face. You couldn't help it, you were feeling good and it was just you sitting with your friends. So your face came lower and lower to his until your eyes closed and your lips came together. You felt his hand come around behind your head to hold you in place as your lips moved together.
Your hands moved down his neck, one arm moving to wrap loosely around his neck while the mother slide under his hoody and down his chest. Law's tongue proded at your lips and you easily parted your lips to give him access. Sandalwood filled your nose as you breathed through it while you two made out.
When you did seperate for air, your lips move from his to his neck where they softly worked on the skin there. Taking your time as you worked back up to his ear. "You owe me..." You whispered softly to in his ear, your teeth taking his ear lobe in between them to tease it playfully before letting it go. You hadn't forogtten the night before.
What you didn't notice was that Law had saw an opportunity. Everyone from your crew was thoroughly distracted with the Strawhats. What you also didn't notice was Sanji's eyes on you from the other side of the fire. You didn't see Law lock eyes with him or the smug smirk that he gave him. You were a prize to Law and he was taking the opportunity to rub Sanji's face in it that he had you. Your captain's hand came up and promptly gave Sanji the finger.
"Shambles."
In the quick moment that Law was able to use his devil fruit ability, you two were gone from where you had been by the fire. A pair of your panties dropping to where you had been sitting behind Law on the log.
Law's shambles dropped you right onto the bed in an ungraceful tangle of limbs. A sqeal came fom you as your bodies clashed together and you both moved to orient yourselves. Your hands come up to his face as your lips found his again. Your tongues quickly meeting again as you picked up where you had left off at the fire.
You sking caught on fire when you felt the warm touch of his long slender fingers move up under your hoody, pushing it and your shirt up with the movement. Law gave you a surprised hum when he discovered that you didn't have a bra on, his hands finding your nipples and rolling one between his index finger and thumb. Your moan broke your kiss and you helped him pull the rest of your top off.
Law's lips were back on your's as he pressed harder into you, pushing you down onto your back into the mattress. He broke your kiss again and started working his lips down your body. Pausing briefly to kiss both of your nipples before moving further south.
"I've been dying to have you cum on my tongue."
Law's filthy words had your body feeling even hotter than it already did as you looked down at him. Watching as he undid your pants and you lifted your hips up to help him pull your pants off. You watched as he took the chance to pull his shirt off and discard it before coming back down to kiss you again. HIs lips at first soft and gentle, but then slowly becoming more hungry as one of his hands felt up and down your body.
You felt his hand travel down between your legs and you spread them further apart as his long and slender fingers started rubbing your clit. You gaspsed, your kiss breaking as moved between your legs. His fingers slowly slipping to slide between your folds. "Fuck, Law." You moaned as one long finger slipped inside of you. You could feel as he stroked you with it from the inside, one of your hands grabbed at the blanket under you, the other grabbed for him.
"Not yet, baby. I'm going to make you cum first, then we can do that."
Law's tone was smug and cocky, clearly confident in his abilities to be able to as he said. He slipped a second finger inside of you as his thumb came to rub your clit, his fingers slowly moving and working themselves inside of you. You could feel as if it felt like he was just stroking that spot inside of you gently, making you moan as your hips moved with his fingers.
You were already so wet with his fingers inside of you that when he pulled his fingers from you, they were coated. You watched as he stuck them in his mouth and sucked your juices off of them. You heard him hum in pleasure as he watched you. Keeping eye contact with you as you watched him clean his fingers.
Grey eyes held yours as you watched Law bring his mouth down to your pussy and you couldn't hold back the sound you made when you felt his tongue swipe up your wet cunt. Your hand shot down to his hair and gripped as you moaned, his mouth not waiting any longer to be on your pussy. You felt his tongue swirl and play with your clit and felt his fingers slide back inside of you.
"Fuck-- yeah, just like that!" You cried out, your hips leaving the mattress slightly before he pressed you back down. You felt a third finger slide into you as he began fucking his fingers in and out of you. His mouth working your clit as his other hand worked to press down on your abdomen. "I'm gonna cum..." You moaned as you felt the coil tighting inside of you quickly, and he kept his pace. Feeling them push and pull in and out of you as you came on his fingers.
It was only after you had started to come down from your orgasm that he pulled his fingers out from inside of you.His mouth traveling up your body as he repositioned himself between your legs. You could taste your cum on his lips as he kissed you, his tongue fighting with yours briefly. You could feel as he slid the head of his cock teasingly through your wet folds.
"Now you can cum on my cock, baby."
Law's own voice gave away how gone he was as well, your blue eyes meeting his own lust filled grey ones as he sat back on his knees. You watched as he teasingly continued to drag his cock up and down your wet folds. He held your eye contact as he caught the head of his cock on your entrace and you gasped as he stopped there. Your heart beat hard in your chest for the brief moment that he paused before he sunk his cock deep inside of you.
You swore that Law's eyes rolled into the back of his head as he did, his own moan of pleasure joining yours. He started slow, his hands on your hips as he slowly worked his cock in and out of you, watching as your chest rose and fell with your heavy breaths. You bit your lip and felt his grip tighten on your hips, which made your pussy tighten around his cock and had him groaning as he pressed himself deeper into you.
The harder that Law's breathing got, the harder that Law's thrusts got as he fucked you. You reached your arms out for him and he brought his body down onto yours, his hips still moving as his lips came back to yours. Swallowing your moans as he worked his cock in and out of you in long, deep strokes. You could tell that he was just as gone as you were in the moment, your legs wrapping around his hips as you pulled him closer to you.
"Law--" You moaned his name as you broke your kiss to let you head fell back and your eyes closed. You were so close to cumming again and you could feel the tightening in your core as your body grew hotter and hotter again. "--I'm gonna cum again..." It wasn't much of a warning as your moans began to take on a higher note as your orgasm built.
"Yes baby, cum on my cock..."
Law's groaned out, dropping his face into your neck. His mouth finding the sensitive skin there from last night. You did just that a couple of moans later. Your nails digging into his back and your legs pulling him in as your pussy convulses around his cock. Your moans mixing with his as they filled the captain's quarters of the Polar Tang.
Law continued to work his in and out of you, fucking you through the start of your orgasm before his groans and moans told you that he had reached his own. You felt his teeth on your neck again, and this time, the pressure was harder. You could feel his cock pulsing inside of you as he spilled himself in you.
Slowly, Law's hips came to a stop and his lips move from your neck to your mouth. Your lipst coming to move together softly in between pants as you two worked to catch your breaths. Neither of you were ready to pull away from each other, so you stayed connected, basking in your post-orgasm afterglow together.
Prompt: There is a traveling medium in town for one week and one week only! With curosity leading the way, Katakuri finds his way into her shop. Tonight's special at the shop? Soulmates and the love troupe that is destined for his life.
Warnings: Arranged marriage and tarot.
Author's Note: I do not do tarot, but I have a lot of respect for those that do. This is based on my information about the cards from friends who do tarot and the internet.
Of everyone in the Charlotte family, Katakuri was the fiercest. His loyalty to his mother, his family, and his people was what drove him. So love had not been an area of his life he had a lot of time for. After watching Big Mom arrange marriages for his two older siblings, he knew it was only a matter of time before she did the same with him.
Katakuri didnât know what kind of feelings he would have about it, but when the day finally came and the words were said to himâŚ. He didnât really know what he felt. He hadnât met you yet, but his heart was in his throat and there was a pit in his stomach. He just couldnât shake the feeling, so he took a walk through the city to look for a distraction.
On his aimless journey through the city street, he noticed the pop up medium shop. He felt a pull and his head was still wading through his emotions. No matter how he felt, he was going to marry you like Big Mom wanted. Katakuri was loyal to a fault when it came to his mother.
It didnât take much convincing from the medium for Katakuri to decide to see what she had to say. He knew nothing about you yet, not your name, not your race, nothing. Just that he was engaged and could expect more details to be told to him as his mother deemed necessary for him to know.
Katakuri watched as one by one, the medium laid the tarot cards out before him. The World Card was the first one that was flipped up for him. "You're life is going to be changing." He listened as the medium spoke about challenge he never faced coming. One that he wouldn't be able to fight his way out of, but one that he would have to open his perspectives to. That this chapter in his life would be closing soon and that his next one would begin in the winter.
Of everyone, Katakuri was aware the most of how his life was going to be changing. He was going to have the title of husband added to his list of duties and have another person to care for. It wasn't that he saw you as a burden he was taking on, he just felt this pressure with getting married that he hadn't expected to come with it.
Crimson eyes watched as the medium turned over the next card and began talking about it. It was the lovers card she explaind to him. Katakuri didn't know why, but his heart skipped a beat when she said it. "The time is coming for your paths to cross." He couldn't help but wonder if she was referring to you. He didn't typically believe in things like this, but he felt some hairs rise up on the back of his neck.
He watched as the card that was turned over next had a moon on it. Even though the medium told him it was the moon card, Katakuri could see that for himself. "She'll be a daughter of the moon." The medium told him, talking about how you won't be exactly as you appear to be to him. That he'll have to follow his instincts with you, though she smiled softly as she said it.
The next card that he saw turn upwards on the table was the hanged man. Katakuri didn't know what the cards were, but the medium told him what they were and what they meant for him. "It won't happen right away." He continued to listen to her speak. "Love cannot be rushed and you will have plenty of time to fall in love with each other." He noticed a smile as she said it, as if the cards were showing her an image he couldn't see.
The final card that the medium pulled for Katakuri and laid facing upwards was the eight of pentacles. He listened as she spoke about the card and what it meant for him with the cards that she had already pulled. "The deliberate approach you take with the effort you show her will be what builds your strong foundation." He didn't know if he had the answers he was looking for when he left, but either way, he did feel better about his resolve to marry you being the right decision.
However, when the day finally did come when your ship came into port at Whole Cake Island, Katakuri was there standing next to his mother as they waited for you to disembark the ship. He couldn't help but notice that he had the feeling again as he looked at the moon symbol on your ship. Though he looked cool on the outside, the hair on the back of his neck under his scarf was standing on edge. When he saw you at the top of the plank, his heart skipped a beat.
Concept: Have you ever thought a bird pooped on something on purpose? Well, sometimes they do!
Warnings: Discussion of how well Law had you moaning the night before. Also a disucssion of how big his dick is.
The cold morning water of the ocean felt good against your skin as you swam. You were up before the majority of the rest of the crew, so you were taking this time to venture away from the Polar Tang. The coal reef was calling to a deeper instinct part of you that you didn't want to resist.
Every shape shifter could feel the pull to nature that only they could feel. It was almost as if it was a song that only they could hear and it made their souls sing. You were no different from the rest of your kind as you swam through the water. Playfully chasing fish along the reef as you flicked your fins here and there for your quick movements.
It was only the sounds of a ship approaching that brought your pursuit of an eel to a hault. Twisting around in the water, you flipped over on your back to look up at the surface. You could faintly see the shadow of a ship growing closer to where you were.
That's the Sunny! The ship was hard to miss as it was very distinct. Most ships could look the same, but their was certainly different. Well, I guess ours is too. You chuckled at your own though as you flipped your tail around and started swimming towards the ship.
You quietly surfaced at the stern, easliy keeping up the pace with the ship as you swam behind it for a while. To any unsuspecting Strawhat, you would just look like a seal that was checking out their ship. What you were really doing was make sure no one was around to see you.
Satisfied that they all seemed to be occupied elsewhere, you dove back down deep into the water. Once you were sure you had enough space, you turned and started swimming hard towards the surface. Breaking through the water and projecting your body into the air.
You quickly shifted forms from your simple playful seal to a beautiful tropical bird. Your flippers turned to wings as you caught yourself in the air after a moment. Your taloned feet dipped into the water for only a moment before you rose up and away from the water.
You took your time, slowly flying up and above the ship so you could get a good view of the ship. Zoro's green hair was easy to see in the bird's nest. Nami was talking with Jinbe as he was steering the ship towards where the polar tang was docked. You watched as Brook was moping part of the deck. You didn't see the others, but you didn't expect to.
A sneaky idea suddenly slid into your mind and you located a suitable place to land. Directly above the nice clean deck that Brook just finished mopping. You listened to him as he sang while he finished what looked like his last corner.
It took him a minute, but once he noticed, it was the gasp that came from that let him know it was you he saw. "Don't you do it..." Brook warned, glaring up at you as much as a skeleton could. In response, you tilted your head to look down at him better. You wiggled your tail feathers to show that you were getting.... comfortable.
You watched as he gasped at you again, but this time pointed his mop up at you. "I just finished washing this deck, don't you dare!" Brook said louder up to you this time, his voice more stern with you as he spoke to the bird. You didn't originally plan on actually doing it, but now you felt that you had to. Just because he told you not to.
The singlular small drop of shit that fell from your feathered ass hit the freshly cleaned portioned of the deck with a solid plop. "You monster!" Brook screamed at you chucking the mop in your direction. You had already abandoned your perch before the mop left his hand and he badly missed you as the mop clattered to the other side of the deck.
The laughing caw that came from you as you flew in a circle above them lazily. "I didn't think those kind of birds were native to this area." Sanji's voice came from the door way that his head was now sticking out of. You watched him walk out onto the deck with Robin behind him.
You broke your view away from them to look back out at the island. They were still far enough out to where the cove that they had been told to dock was not in sight. "They're not. It must be lost." Robin's voice quickly brought your attention back to them as she noticed the flaw in your playful plan.
Shit. I forgot to pick a bird that was from this area. When you can change into any animal you want, you tend to forget that only certain animals live in certain places. She really should of stayed up the night that Law was going over the animals on the island instead of going to bed with Bepo.
"Hey guys!" Luffy greeted your crew as they settled onto solid land and joined your morning fire. You had a much larger crew when it came to numbers, but some how, it always felt like they had the bigger crew instead. Just the big personalities, maybe? There were hugs, hand shakes, high fives, and all kinds of greetings given between the two crews. Except from Law. He wasn't the touchy feely type.
His grey eyes caught yours for a second and you offered him a wink. You chuckled softly to yourself as you watched his cheeks blush and he looked away. Other than when you came back to the crew after your little adventure, you two haven't spoken since last night. Your skin started to feel hot for a second before you ripped yourself away from the thought and refocused on the strawhats.
Particularly the two female ones that were now sitting with you and Ikkaku. The four of you were making plans for what to do without the men for the day and what you could do without them. There were some men (Sanji, Penguin, Brook, Sachi) who were in disagreement with this and were suggesting that they went with you. Not because you were women who couldn't defend yourselves, but becuase you were women and there were pervs out there.
Unfortunatley for you and Ikkaku, Law agreed with them and insisted your group at least took one man with you. A thing that three of the four you rolled your eyes at. Robin thanked him for being concerned for the safey of the ladies. Luckily for you four ladies, Jinbei was the one that Law asked and he was more than willing to accompany your group. Something that none of you ladies had any complaints about.
"So, where did you get that bite mark from?" Nami's words made you regret putting your hair up in pony tail just now. It wasn't like you were embarassed to admit that there was something going on between you and Law. It was more of there wasn't any definition to it really. It was still really new. Not certainly something you wanted to talk about while standing in front of the locals at their shops.
Unfortunately for you, you were not the one that responded to the question. "The captain!" Ikkaku's word were met with her hand slamming down on the table to empashize the importance of who she was referring. You felt that she was being overly dramatic and rolled your eyes and focused on bartering with the shop owner.
Apparently this was not the answer that Nami had expected. "TRAFALGAR?!" The look on her face told her that she had not placed her bets on him. It also made part of you wonder who she had thougth that you had started shaking up with on your crew. You and the shop owner had agreed on a price for the whole bean coffee, small box of fruit danishes, and some of her locally grown weed from her own garden.
"How big is it?" Robin's words cut through as she leaned forward. Using her hands for measurement. You couldn't help laughing at her question finally, even though your face was still rather red. You were greatful when it was Jinbei who spoke this time before she had to respond.
"What really matters is that he treats her well." Jinbei's words were the perfect fatherly response that any woman would of wanted to hear. It also seemed like everyone was doing well at having this conversation without you actually being involved in it.
This time, Ikkaku's words came with a heavy sarcams and a heavy implication. "Oh, he treats her well alright." You eyes pratically rolled in the back of your head on this one. The red across your face still darkened even as you sat down with them now at the table.
"Oh please! We're barely anything!" You finally joined the conversation as you chided Ikkaku. Taking your own seat at the table as you quickly found your own glass of wine that you had been working on befefore this conversation started. You slapped her hand away from box with the danishes in it. "Those are for crewmates who don't expose my sex life to others!" You hissed at her. The fucking audacity!
Ikkaku laughed at your response to her. Especially when you denied her a fresh danish. That was the real insult there! "That sure didn't stop him from rearranging your insides in our bed last night." She retorted towards you. She was the one that had been put out of your shared bed for a period of time last night.
It was at this point that the Strawhats realized that they were no longer needed for the rest of the converstaion to continue. "That sounds like a good size." Nami's hands sized out to where she thought how big Law's cock was based on their conversation thus far.
At this point, Jinbei had even joined with the other two ladies at just watching the rest of it unfold. "This is how big I'm thinking." He responded with his own guess. He was certainly learning a lot more than he thought he would from his day out with the ladies. He might as well just join in and accept his role as one of the ladies at this point.
It was perfect timing that a waitress happened to come over to your table. "Miss, can I please get a bottle of this corked to go?" You asked her sweetly, handing her your now empty wine bottle to take back with her before you turned your blue eyes back to Ikkaku. "If you and the rest of the crew hadn't of been cock blocking us for weeks, it wouldn't of been our first time." You then hissed back at her, pointing out the sexual frustration between you two.
While you were talking, Ikkaku finished off her own glass of wine. It was mostly gone anyhow, but she was missing her chance with the waitress here. "It's not our fault the universe hates you." She responded. Her own eyes rolling at the insinsuation that the crew was doing it intentionally. "Can we get a bottle of this one too, please?" She then asked the waitress, her tone turning sweet as she handed her the spent wine bottle.
"The tea is hot today." Robin commented to Nami, swishing her own wine around in it's glass before tipping it back to finish what she had. They were about to move to their next location since they have gotten all of their shopping and orders in this area placed for your crews.
"Piping hot." Nami agreed with her, her laugh joining Robin's as she handed the third and last empty bottle of wine from the table to Jinbei. Between five pirates, three bottles of wine didn't stand a chance. You were professionals with how much you drank and this was just stop number three so far.
Jinbei took the bottle without complaint from Nami. He was used to being the doting girl dad to the ladies, even though their conversations were a little crazy. "I'll take a bottle of this to go as well." He added with the waitress, handing her the last bottle before she left their table.
Of all of the places that your group could of come across, it was a petting zoo that you found next. You had to resist the curl of your lip up as soon as you saw the sign for it. Animals in cages were not your thing at all. It was an issue that every shapeshifter had. You caught Jinbe looking at you and you looked at cart that he was helping you guys now pull back to the ship.
"I'll sit out here with the cart." Your offer came as one of convience, though Ikkaku gave you a look of doubt before she agreed to go in. You would likely have to talk with her about it later when you didn't have any Strawhats around. What you hadn't expected was Jinbe deciding to join you in sitting out with the cart.
Not that you minded the company. You just didn't expect it. Part of you wondered if fishmen had the same feelings about cages as shifters did. You made note to ask Bepo how minks felt about zoos when you got back to the crew.
Balancing yourself carefully, you sat on the side of the cart as Jinbe came to stand next to the cart with you. "We can move to a bench if you want." You offered, gesturing to one of the bences near by, but closer to the shops where ears could over hear you.
"I'm okay, thank you though." Jinbe was always so polite. It made it hard for you to believe he had ever been a warlord of the sea. He seemed more like a proud girl dad than fierce fishman pirate. Suppose he could be both, technically. You mused quietly to yourself. The thought leaving as fast as it came.
You shrugged as you reached behind you into the cart, your hand finding it's way into your personal bag before pulling out a small box of brownies bites. You offered him the opened box. Both of you taking one before you closed it back up and slipped it back into your bag.
"You're a shapeshifter, aren't you?" Jinbei sudden words caught you so off guard that you choked. You legin choked on the brownie that you had in your mouth. He ended up needing to slap your back hard enough to knock you off the cart before the piece dislodged from your throat.
"Are you trying to fucking kill me?" You hissed at him, gasping for air as you were on all fours. Still coughing at the ground as you caught your breath. You swore you life started to flash before your eyes for a moment before he gave you that good second whack.
After a few more minute of coughing and catching your breath, attention left you again and you were able to pick yourself back up off of the ground. "How do you know?" Your words were quiet when you said them. Careful to make sure you words weren't overheard by prying ears.
Jinbe didn't seem as if he was pushing you to talk. You looked up at him, eyeing him as if you were trying to assess if he had some ability that you were not aware of. "You can look human, but you still smell like a shapeshifter." Which was something that he was completely right about. It was how you were also able to tell if something was a shifter. That was one thing about your physiology that you were unable to change.
"Great way to tell me that I stink." You responded to him with a chuckle, turning your blue eyes off of him as you looked back in front of you. You knew you didn't stink. There was a difference between your smell and your scent, though part of you now wondered what you smelled like to to him. "Do the other Strawhats know?"
Jinbe was quiet for a moment as a young couple came within in ear shot of the both of you. He waited until you were alone again before answering your question. "I don't think Chopper knows what a shapeshifter is, but he knows you smell different from the others."
You were relieved and you felt your shoulder drop some. You hadn't even realized you were holding tension in your shoulders. You weren't ashamed of what you were, but you were rare. "That explains why he brought up my scent before." It also brought up the question again of what you smelled like. You made another mental note to ask Bepo about it later.
"What about your crew?" Jinbe gestured loosely towards the petting zoo where Ikkaku was with the two Strawhat women. It was a fair question for him to ask. If the cat was already out of the bag with him and it was just you two, it would be nice to tell someone the real story about how you met your crew. "They all know." You responded with a laugh and smirk at him.
When the other three women rejoined you two, Jinbe was still roaring with laughter at the story. It was hilarious to him that they had thought they adopted a pet for their ship and ended up with a shapeshifter instead. It was a perfect transistioning point for them to return to the ships and meet back up with the rest of the crews.
Hi! I am not sure if you are still active but I do want to make a request. I love the Endeavor Mistress stories. I have met many men in my life who have a second family which they treat better (just as an observation- nothing personal)
I had this idea: the Mistressâ children actually turned out to be the perfect successor Endeavor was longing for when he was with Rei.
Enji Todoroki (33 years old); Daughter (4 years old); Son (3 years old)
After the Todoroki fully discussed all of the options that you presented them with for how to proceed after Dabi's dance on national televisoin. Enji, even though his marriage was still estranged, wanted to do what he could to try to begin working to fix his marriage and his relationships with his legitimate children. This option also meant the end of your nine year affair with him.
Your children were still too young to understand what was all going on and you wanted your arrangement to continue the way it was. He had not been involved with your children as a father at any point so far in their lives and you were not interested in that changing. You didn't need him like Rei did. His part with your children ws done a long time ago as far as you were concerned.
Enji stood firm on his word that he wouldn't be involved with your children. It also helped that Rei and his other children were pressuring him to choose this option as well. You had been prepared for this reaction from them. You had planned for several different types of conversations and reactions. You were very rarely unprepared.
The media storm that covered your family and the Todoroki family for months caused a lot of chaos. Especially once word got out that you and Enji had lawyers representing each other to make your agreement legal. You already had all the details figured out, so it wasn't the big court battle that the media made it out to be. It was the scandal of the century after all!
There was one change that Enji fought you on. You were actually pretty surprised by how hard he fought you on this aspect, but ultimately, you came to a compromise with him. Since the world now new the paternity of your children, Enji only thought it was fair for them to have contact with him. You thought it was awfuly convient he was asking for this now after your daughter's quirk had started manifesting.
Not only had your daughter started manifesting her quirk, she was showing a natural talent with it that none of the Todoroki offspring possessed. Everything that Enji had ever wanted in a child, your daughter was beginning to show traits of having. You had even just hired a priate quirk trainer to begin working wtih her.
Unlike Rei though, you had a backbone and you weren't letting him touch your children. He wasn't in a position of control where he had more control than her.
The family court judge that finalized your agreement made the final decision. With the help of your lawyers, he came up with a compromise that you both were able to agree to. Your children will be able to have the decision to decide if they wanted to reach out to Enji when your son reaches his eighteenth birthday.
One of the things that was heavily pushed for by Rei Todoroki was your removal from the Endeavor Agency. Unfortunately for Rei, you were more important in running the agency that Endeavor was and that was something that Enji was not in agreement with. You two had literally built the agency together and it was your's as much as it was his. It was a fight that she had lost.
Enji Todoroki (46 years old); Daughter (17 years old); Son (16 years old)
When Enji entered into his fourties, after Rei's once again renewed effort, he started the conersation about his retirement with you. You two had long ago came up with an agreement for a buy out that would mutually benefit both of you. Privately, you two talked about if he was really ready to retire or if this was Rei pushing him again. So when he confirmed that he was really ready this time, you made him the official buy out offer for his half of the agency.
'Where there is Fire, there is Heat'
The agency was fully rebranded within a year witht his as your new motto and tag line. It was an acknowledgement of everything that had happened and as a clear statement on your response to the renewed press and media attention everyone was now getting again. You two had intentionally slowly built the agency for it to run and function without him by this point. So his retirement was easy when you took the media circus out of the picture.
After his retirement from pro hero work, the only time that Enji would be able to catch glimpses of his children with you were when they were on tv or his phone. They were being toted as rising up and coming hero's to watch. The media attention from his retirement found it's way over to them and seemed to stick as they began seeing more of their abilities publicly.
Enji's blue eyes were caught by the tv in the living room of the house, stopping what he was doing to watch. It was news converage highlighting the recent U.A. Sports Festival. His daughter with you was in her third year of the Hero Course. She was going to be graduating at the end of her year. It was no surprise that she was in the "Big Three".
She had became everything that he had wanted in a child. Her quirk was called "Phoenix". The video clip that was playing as the anchors were talking about it was of her as a bird made of fire. Wings of flame flapping casually as she hovered over the body of a student that she had just pushed out of the ring.
The flames disappeared and her bright red hair in a long pony tail and her school gym uniform reappeared as she dropped to the ground next to him. She was being praised for checking on her opponent. He was also in the "Big Three" with her. It had been a clip of the final match of the battle tournament where they had faced off against each other for first place. She had won.
It then flipped over to a clip of her younger brother participating in his own category of the Sports Festival. It was the Calvary Battle that showed and highlighted the accuracy in which he was able to control his flames. Manipulation so well that he was able to make the other team move where he wanted them to. Putting them into a position where he could take their headband for more points. His team came in first place. His quirk was called "Salamander".
Their quirks weren't the same, but they were both representations of two great combinations of what merging quirks could look like and it respurred the conversation of quirk marriages in the media. They had everything that the Todoroki children were lacking. The drive, the determination, the desire, the skill, and the natural talent. Plus, neither of them had any issues with overheating.
"Looks like your side projects turned out to be pretty amazing after all." Shoto's voice was flat as it said it, but it was still the barb at his father as it said it. Just like the rest of his siblings, he had made no effort to reach out to the bastard that his father had sired. He didn't have any interest in them beyond the comment or two about them when he saw them on TV.
Fuyumi sat next to her brother on the couch. She couldn't help but to watch as well. As much as all of the Todoroki children kept their distance, she was probably the only one with some curosity towards them. "I wonder if they're going to reach out. It's coming up soon." She said, her voice being soft as she said it. She knew it wasn't a popular topic in her family.
"I hope they don't." Natsuo's words were the most hateful when he spoke of them. He was still working on forgiving his father for his affair, but it had been improved. However, every time that they came up, he would be angry again for a while afterwards. It was his father's fault that they had been treated bad and his little side projects had been treated good.
"They did nothing to you." Rei tried to be the voice of reason when it came to her family, but even she struggled a lot still when it came to mentions of her husband's bastards.
Enji Todoroki got his dream offspring. The perfect child that he always wanted. He even got it twice. However the irony of fate made it a universe where he wasn't allowed to be involved.
Concept: When holiday break comes up in the school schedule and students get to go home to their families for a few days, you decide to spend your holiday the way you wanted to for once. Away from all of your family's drama.
You pushed your way into your dad's office easily. He had left it unlocked for you to since you had just missed him. He was teaching his last class before the short holiday break. You've been stalling giving your parents an answer about what you wanted to do over the break.
While your mother had extended the invitation to come back to her house for the holiday, you sense it was more out of obligation. A response to her attempt to make things look okay again after the fiasco that was her family Christmas card. If you could call it that. Was it really one if she left one of her kids out of it?
Sighing, she shoved her hand into her bag and fished around for a second before pulling her cell phone out. The first notification on her phone was a text message from Eijiro. She couldn't help the soft smile that spread across her lips as she went to open the text.
Red Riot: Have you told them yet?
Even though seeing his name and having a text message from him is what made you smile, it was a topic that you were not excited about and the same one you were just thinking about. As you two became closer, he had asked you about why you fight with your dad a lot. Truth was, even you didn't know why most of the time. So of course the conversation of what you were going to do over the holiday and what you were going to do came up eventually.
Akatsuki: No.
Akatsuki: I keep chickening out.
Akatsuki: I just really don't want to fight with him about it.
Red Riot: He's your dad. I'm sure he'll understand.
Red Riot: You're almost out of time to turn in your permission form.
Red Riot: Fat Gum needs them in the morning.
You hated when he was right and Eijiro was usually right. He was pretty level headed as well where you were... not so much inclined in that area. It was just different for him. It was nice to talk to him about it, but he didn't have the complicated relationship with his parents like you did. He wasn't the unplanned burden that ruined both of their lives, like you were. He wasn't the one constantly reminded about it when he was with his mother and her family, like you were. He didn't feel like his parents didn't care about him beyond their obligation to care.
Akatsuki: He should be back in the next hour. I'll talk to him then.
If you were honest with yourelf, you felt like absolutely trash for what you had just done. Even though you had gotten away with it, it still didn't feel good to do.
It was the ding of the elevator that pulled you from your thoughts and you stepped onto the second floor of Fat Gum's hero agency. It was the floor that he used to provide housing space for the heros and work study students if they needed it. You knew where you were going. You had been going to the same room you've gone to a million times by now since it was the room that Fat Gum let you use. So you just watched your feet a you pulled your bags behind you to the door. You used your key to open the door before pushing past it and further into the room. Leaving it open behind you.
"Hey Siri, play 'Icon For Hire' on Spotify." Fat Gum had one in every room. You had barely started unpacking when a voice came up from behind her.
"Yo!" Tetsutetsu pushed open the door to your room and dropped onto his back on the bed. It was an open door policy for the group. Your friendship with the small group of guys was tight enough to where you all felt comfortable with it. Of course you had codes for when someone needed space, but it was a good working system.
"Yo!" You responded back without looking. You had just finished setting up your Xbox that you brought with you for the week. So far, you two were the first two in your group to be there, so you had some time to kill before the other two got there. "CoD?" You asked him, handing him a controller as you sat down on the bed next to him.
"Sure." Tetsutetsu sat up and tossing his phone behind him on the bed. "I can't believe your dad actually signed the form." He said after a few moments into the game. He was just making casual conversation waiting for the rest of the game to load. It wasn't supposed to be the loaded question that it was.
So when an awkward pause came and you avoided his side eye, he slowly turned to looked at you after not getting a response from you. You only glanced at him out of the corner of your eye when he finally said your name in a questioning tone. "About that..." You started softly, not really wanting to admit this outloud, but not wanting to lie to EVERYONE. "You can't tell Eijiro."
Shouta was actaully rather proud of how well you pulled this off. It had taken him a whole three days before he had realized that you weren't at your mother's. In fact, it was only when she called him to complain about you not answering her phone calls or texts that he realized you weren't with her.
Shouta didn't make it a habit of lying to your mother, even though he was quick enough on his feet to cover up the fact that he didn't know where the hell you were! After he got your mother off of the phone with a promise to tell you to call her, he started calling Hizashi. "She's fucking gone and I have idea where the fuck she is." He was a pro, so why were the words on the boarderline of panic as they fell from his mouth?
Eri was already in bed for the night, so Shouta paced in his kitchen as he talked to Hizashi on the phone about what to do. "I'll come over and watch Eri. You call Sekijiro and get him to meet you at her dorm. I bet she's there just blowing the both of you off." His heart was slamming in his chest. It all sounded so cool and rational as Hizashi said it.
It only took less than five minutes for Hizashi to get to his home and ten total for him to meet Sekijiro in his pajamas at the dorms. It was a simple key hand off before he was taking the stairs two at a time to your floor. His heart sank when he heard nothing coming from the other side of your door and it sank even further when he opened your door and it was empty.
Shouta struggled to breathe for a second as he looked around your room for any sign that you were just here and he missed you on your way to the bathroom or something like that. He could feel his hands start to shake as the realization of not knowing where she was became more real. He shoved his hand in his pants pocket and pulled his cell phone back out.
"She's not here!" Shouta couldn't hear the small crack in his voice. Instead, all he could focus on was looking around the room and looking for.... something. "It's okay, breathe buddy." Hizashi's voice helped to soothe his nerves some and help reel him back in some. He closed his eyes, took a deep breath in, and then let it out slowly.
He pulled your chair out from your desk and sat on it, his arm one arm resting over a fleece blanket with characters from a game he recongnized his Class 1-A students playing on their phones. He didn't even know you liked that game or played it.
Shouta pulled his phone from his ear and set it to speaker before setting it on your desk. "Anything in her desk or her trash?" Hizashi's voice came from the other end, but Shouta's hands were already pulling out her drawers and going through their contents. "Make up... cheat codes to games... drawing of what I think is Kirishima as a pokemon?" He mumbled and talked, mostly to Hizashi and partly to himself as he went through the things he was finding.
"Found where she keeps her weed." Shouta said with a huff as he moved through the book case next to her desk. "She didn't take much of anything with her. Her Xbox is gone...." He said, looking around from where he now sat on her floor. "That's good. It means she must be planning on coming back." Hizashi reassured him from the phone still on the desk.
The more that Shouta was going through your room and looking for a clue to where you were, the more he was realizing that he didn't know you as well as he thought. "I know you don't want to send up an alarm, but have you reached out to the boys' parents'?" Hizashi asked, referring the group of boys that she tended to spend time with from class. Looking over to his side, he notices the trash can with a few crumpled up pieces of paper in it.
Reaching over, he picked up the trash can and dumped it out on the floor in front of him. "And say what? I'm one of the teachers and I don't even know where my own kid is? Can you ask your boys if they know?" Shouta didn't mean for his words to be harsh, but they were. Harsh towards himself more than Hizashi.
Slowly, he uncrumpled the couple of pieces of paper and looked over them. One in particular was an informational page for parents about an intensive training program for their work study students over the holiday at Fat Gumâs agency. There was even a second page with details about a holiday party where parents were invited to come.
Hizashi had been saying something, but he wasnât listening as he read them over. âShe never said anything about this⌠Iâll call you back.â Shouta didnât explain, but grabbed his phone off of her desk and hung up on Hizashi. Switching to his contacts, he pulled up Fat Gumâs and hit call before bring to his ear.
âHey, Shouta!â Fat Gumâs voice came through in greeting on the other end. Shoutaâs mouth suddenly felt dry. âIs she there?â He asked after a moment, listening for her voice in the background. Before the other man could answer, there was a loud snap and a collective âooofâ in the background. âYeah, she just busted Amajiki pretty good in the face. Want me to grab her for you? Heâs bleeding pretty good from the looks of it, so the sparring match has stopped.â
He didnât know. He didnât know he was harboring a fugitive. Shouta let out a breath. He didnât even notice that he had been holding his breath. He could hear her apologizing to the young manâs whose face she just broke. âIs everything okay?â Fat Gumâs voice came lower this time, as if he was moving to leave the room. There was a click of what sounded like a door from the other side.
âNow it is.â Shoutaâs heart was still calming down. The sense of relief was something he hadnât been able to keep out of his voice. âI didnât know she was⌠I thought she was with her mom.â he admitted, hoping he didnât sound like as shitty of a dad as he felt. As the relief came, so did the start of anger at her for running off like this.
âYou didnât⌠she forged your name on the form.â A sigh came from the other side of the phone. It didnât make sense to Shouta. He would have gladly signed the form. âI have to admit, I knew she was smart, but I never thought that she would be smart enough to actually trick both of us.â There was a chuckle and a hint of respect in his voice.
âShe gets THAT from her mother.â
"AIZAWA!" Fat Gum's voice boomed across the sparring ring at you. Your back went instantly rigid as your head spun around to look at him quickly over your shoulder. You were not use to Fat Gum yelling your name like that when everything was calm. "Sir?" You responded in question, though the feeling in your stomach told you that this was the moment you had been waiting for.
Your eyes met his as you watched him show you the screen of his phone. It was your dad's contact displayed on his screen and your heart sank into your stomach. He was still on the call. "Your father's on the phone." For all you knew, he had tried to call you first. Your phone was over on the bench with everyone else's since you were all still in the middle of the sparring ring. Tending to what was appearing to be a broken nose.
Tetsutetsu's soft 'shit' was just loud enough for you to hear. He was the only other person besides you (and now Fat Gum) who knew what you did. If you had a tail, this would be the moment you would of tucked it between your legs. You met him halfway and took the phone from him. "We'll talk about this in the morning." Fat Gum's words were firm, but not as angry as you thought that they would be. More disappointed and that was even worse feeling than if he was mad at her.
With the phone in your hand, you quickly ran over to the door and slipped out onto the other side. Letting it click shut before you put the phone to your ear. "Hello..." Your words were soft and not confident at all as they left your lips. You knew that you had fucked up and deserved what you were about to get.
It was the first time you didn't argue back with him. You didn't have it in you to argue with him about it, instead the tears just built up in your eyes as you listened to him. He kept switching between being pissed at you for running away and being glad that you were safe. You hadn't even though about that. You had always planned on coming home, so you didn't think about him being this kind of upset over it.
Or that he would be scared that you wouldn't come back.
"I'm sorry, dad...." You cried softly when there was finally silence from his end. Without you yelling back at him and keeping him going, he didn't have much to say to you. After your call with him ended, you took a couple of minutes in the closest bathroom before you returned to the group. Amajiki had finally stopped bleeding and it was confirmed that you had broken his nose when you hit him in his face with the escrima stick.

It was no secret that the Strawhats brought chaos with them, so the Heart Pirates knew what they were getting into when you were preparing to sail into port the next day. Inventory was the most important thing to have an accurate count of and your crew made you were all well stocked. Luffy alone could eat you out of ship.
Once the crew had been dismissed for the night, you found yourself to be tired from all of the extra work and were relieved when you saw that Ikkaku had not made her way to bed yet. You loved being able to spread out in the bed by yourself at night when you had the chance. So you jumped at the chance to enjoy the bed for a little bit.
However, when you were disturbed, you hadn't expected the scent of sandlewood to be what flowed into your senses. Let alone, the feeling of the weight of someone cawling over you. You could feel the hair of his chest on your back as the brush of his chin hair scratched your skin.
"Captain?" You questioned sleepily as you moved. Shifting under him. Adjusting your body so that your ass was pressing more comfortably under his crotch. You could feel his cock pressing hard against your ass. The feeling of his mouth on your skin made you gasp for a moment.
Law rumbled against your skin a response that was just mostly a sound. You felt his arms come in around you and cage you in before gently laying his weight on top of you. His mouth moving to your ear to gently nibble on it softly.
You could feel his hands moving down to your sides as his knees shifted to push your legs apart. Your face could only continue to press into the pillow and focus on what you could feel. "Law...." You called out again as you felt his hands on your shorts. It was odd for him to be this quiet with you.
"Use your words." Despite your position, face down in the mattress with him caging you in and controling you, your voice was gently clear that it was not a suggestion. If he wanted this to go further, he needed to respond to you.
âI need you.â
You felt the words grumbled and growled out across the skin of your neck. His lips were kissing your skin, making goose bumps spring up and a shiver snake down your spine. You swore you could feel the glancing of his teeth on your skin. His breath was hot as he breathed on you.
Law's hard cock pressed hard through your very thin sleep shorts. It was only in this very moment that you had first realized how thin they exactly were. When you could feel his precum drenching through a spot on the shorts where they touched.
"I'll make it up to you, I promise."
It felt like Law was vibrating with urgency and desire. Every touch you felt from him made you feel like you were vibrating. Like you were radiating warmth from his position on top of you. His hands moving down your hips as you pushed yourself up onto your arms. Looking over you shoulder to watch.
Watch as his grey eyes lock with your blue ones. As his hands moved to pull you very thin sleep shorts down further from your ass. You watched as he spit in his hand and began stroking himself. With his knee he nudged your legs apart. Close enough to keep your ass in the air a little, but low enough to allow him to push deep into you.
"Just let me take what I need from you right now."
You had already been able to feel his cock, but now it was bare and rubbing against your folds. The head of his cock pushing through the wet folds of your pussy. Catching gently on your clit for a moment before being pulled back through your folds again. "Take what you need from me, Law." The words flowed easily from your lips as he brought his grey eyes closer to your blue ones.
That was all it took for the Captain of the Heart Pirates to sink his cock as deep as he could into your pussy. There was a simultamious groan of pleasure that was let out by both of you. Pent up sexual tension that was now coming to completion. His hand firmly grasped your hip as he let go instantly.
"You feel better than anything I've ever imagined before."
Law's hips and pace went to what he wanted and what he needed to get off. His other hand moving to your throat as he pulled your head back to him. He squeezed just enough to make it more enjoyable as he brought your lips together. His kiss hot and hungry as it melted with your lips.
You gave him permission to take and Law was taking everything he needed from you. The sounds of skin slapping against skin as he fucked you hard enough to where you swore that his hand on your hip would leave a bruise when he was done with you. Your hands had slid up to the head board and were now holding on as he held you in place.
Withoutwarning, Law's lips broke away from your's and his teeth were suddenly biting into the skin of your neck. You felt him push you down into the mattress as you cried out from him biting you. Your one hand going to his hair. You could feel the warmth spreading inside of you as Law came inside of you.
Law's body and chest felt heavy on you as he began breathing hard. His despite desire to make you his before meeting up with another friendly crew seeming to catching up to him for a moment. You then felt his hand release your throat and your hip was released as well. You could feel his cock sliping from you. Leaving with this feeling of emptiness.
"I promise I'll make it up to you next time."
Your cheek tickled slightly where his words dusted your neck. You could feel your skin flushing again under you already from his words. But then the cold quickly snuck in as Law slipped out from under the blanket. You pulled the blanket back around you to keep as much of your heat back under the blanket that you could.
There was a half grumbled protest, but it was actually just gibberish in response to the cold. Your eyes followed his form in the dark room as he moved around. Eye lids slowly getting heavier and heavier before eventually drifting shut.
You were already starting to doze back off when you felt Law's weight on the bed next to you again. This time, it felt like he was sitting and you could feel his hand on your arm. Youreyes fluttered opened for a second before closing again as his lips were pressed to your temple.
"Go back to sleep."
Law's whispered words were warm and comforting as they danced across your skin. His warmth leaving you just as quickly as it came. You could faintly hear the click of the door as he left your room.
Characters: Nami, references to Vinsmoke Sanji, Nico Robin.
Concept: While hitching a ride with the Strawhats, Keturah decides to hook up with Sanji a couple of times. Her final night with them, Nami and Robin decide to have a girls gossip drink about it to get the tea.
Inspired by: Figure You Out by VIOLA.
Warnings: References to sexual acts.
You had intentionally seperated from your crew for a short trip with the Strawhats. With your side quest with the group now complete, you were finally at your last stop before you were able to meet back up with your own crew. They had been kind enough to give you a ride to your meet up location as thanks for helping them out.
While you were on the Sunny, there had been a certain situationship that you had decided to engage in. It happened to be named Sanji and boy was he worth it. He was not THE best sex of your life, but he was easily in the top five. It was also not a secret that you two were hooking up for the duration of the trip.
You all had come to port only a few hours ago and you were spending your last night with the crew before leaving the town in the morning. As a result, you were all partying at a pirate friendly bar that you had found. It was almost like it was a special skill of yours, finding safe spaces like that.
"I just don't understand what you saw in him."
You exageratedly rolled your eyes again for the millionth time that night. "Excuse me?" You acted like you were yet again surprised by their response. You really couldn't understand why either of these beautiful pirate women had not taken advantage of the horny bastard yet.
"I mean, he's Sanji!"
This was something that you could just not simply believe. "How have you seriously never fucked anyone on this ship?" Could they not see how incredibly hot their crew was? Maybe they were gay...
"They're my crew! Ew!"
When you rolled your eyes this time, it was genuine. You had certainly fucked your share of pirates, including some of your own crew. "That man would take you to church the moment you let him!" You couldn't help but insisting. They were clearly not understanding the sexual opportunity that they were missing.
"Take her to church?"
That was when you took the moment to grin at Robin. You and Nami looked at each other and you smiled at her. That was when you then started moaning loudly at your table. "Oh god! Oh god! Oh god!" You heard Robin's howling of laughter at your impression of what that expression meant.
Your actions attracted the attention of the boys from their table as they started yelling at you girls. Questioning across the bar what you were talking about and joking with you. You smiled at Sanji as he locked eyes with you. You watched as they instantly turned to hearts and you gave him a wink before blowing him a kiss.
Once the boys went back to their own conversation, you and the two strawhat ladies turned back to yourselves as well. "Hear me out!" You then turned the conversation back to what you were talking about. "I have only three words: Eager. To. Please."
As the night went on and you continued to celebrate your impending departure from the Strawhats, you couldn't help but to notice that Nami was being more accepting of Sanji's advances. Not in an obvious way, but definately in a more subtle way that certain he had noticed as well!
You couldn't help but to smirk as you watched as she finally interlaced her fingers with his under the table. Quietly, the pair disappeared from the bar and you knew exactly where they were going. You looked over at Robin and smirked.
"You're too good at this."
You laughed as you took the berry from her. She had betted against you about whether or not Nami would hook up with Sanji. You just had this gut feeling that it would only take a little bit of sharing for you to push her over into his arms. For a little bit at least.
After you had finally packed your back to depart the Sunny, you were saying your good byes to the Strawhats before your next leg of the journey. You knew your crew was just up in the mountains, so you were rather eager to get back to them. You weren't going to leave without saying good-bye though.
"Did you enjoy yourself last night?" You couldn't help whispering the words into Nami's ears as you hugged her. You could feel her body tense for a moment before you felt her relax under you. You would bet money on the fact that her face had just turned bright red.
"Let's just say, I'm not opposed to having more religion in my life."
You chuckled as you pressed your lips to her cheek and gave her a soft kiss good-bye. You knew in your heart that you would see them again. You would be lying if you said that you weren't interested in seeing what happens furhter between Sanji and Nami's love life.
Your inner animal was a trickster and enjoyed the idea of changing a dynamic. For the best or for the worst to be determined in the future.
Characters: Charlotte Katakuri, reference to Charlotte Brulee, reference to Monkey D. Luffy.
Concept: Your arranged marriage lead to being married to a man that had never lost a fight. So why suddenly can you not breathe after he lost for the first time in his life?
Warnings: Arranged marriage, slow burn romance, kissing, reference to injuries, references to Katakuri's fight with Luffy.
I can't breathe.
You desprately willed the air to return to your lungs. You felt like you had just been sucker punched in the gut with the way you suddenly felt the world was spinning around you. You hadn't even realized that you had dropped to your knees and that your assistant had come running over to you.
"Aries! Are you okay? Aries!"
You barely registered the words being spoken to you and you could feel your body begin to tremble. Your husband has been defeated. Charlotte Katakuri had been defeated by Strawhat Luffy. They didn't know the extent of his injuries, but there was a medical team on their way to your husband now.
Then your lungs sudden remembered what their job was and you took in a deep breath. You felt your whole body shudder as oxygen suddenly flooded your body and you felt your hearing coming back to you. The intense insticts to get to him flushed through you like a fire.
With a shove, you pushed past those around you and shifted into a large hawk before flying off. You had to get to your husband. He was your only thought right now. You had to get to a mirror!
I'm coming, Katakuri!
Once you were through the mirror and close enough to them, you shifted back into your human form and dropped from the air above your husband. Landing on the otherside of him from Brulee. "Katakuri!" You called out to him, your heart skipping a beat as your gold eyes finally saw him on his back.
The medical team had beaten you there and were already working on evaluating Katakuri, stablizing him, and preparing him for transport. It was such a surreal exprience as your husband was never the one in this position. You legs gave out from next to you and you dropped to the ground next to his head.
As soon as you were sitting next to him on the ground, your hands found his head. One gently stroking his red hair out of Katakuri's face. Your eyes carefully surveying every inch of him as you started frantically asking Brulee questions. Before she could answer, you felt his hand reach up and grab yours, his crimson eyes now looking up at you.
"It's okay, Aries."
You felt his fingers gently brush the skin of your hand before letting your fingers interlace. You couldn't help the soft and slow gentle closing of your eyes as you settled you head down onto Katakuri's forehead gently. Your tears were uncontrollable at this point as you had a myrid of emotions inside of you.
"I'm okay."
Katakuri's voice was so reassuring to you that everything was going to be fine. You felt the tears that had started rolling down your face and you couldn't hold back the sudden crying. "I was so worried about you." You sobbed, unable to stop it from coming out as your golden orbs looked down his body. Watching as they got his bleeding to stop.
He just gently let you cry for a few moments and reassured you that he was okay even as they started preparing him for transport. You didn't care that there was a small group of people there that had seen your interaction with Katakuri. You two never showed anything but professional interactions with each other in public, so this was a drastically different side being seen by others.
"I'll be okay, Aries."
When the moment came and the medical team asked you to step back, you brought Katakuri's hand up to his hand up to your lips and kissed it before giving it back to him. You tore people apart for a living, you didn't put them back together. So your needed to trust your husband to the care of the medical staff and let them do their job.
Once Katakuri was finally settled back into your shared bed and was sleeping peacefuly, you dismissed all of the medical staff from your living quarters. Sitting on the bed next to him, you gently stroked his red hair. Staring out at the moon as you let yourself be lost in your thoughts. Processing the events of the day.
Much like the majority of the Charlotte family, your marriage with Katakuri had also been arranged when you two were in your early twenties. You even had two adult children together. So why was it just now that you were having this moment of realization. When exactly was it that you had fallen in love with your husband.
"What are you thinking about?"
Your golden eyes came to Katakuri's when his crimson eyes had slowly opened up to look up at you. You offered him a soft smile as your other hand came to gently rest on his chest. You watched and felt as his hand came up to hold yours on his chest. "You and Strawhat." You responded with a soft laugh, not exactly lying since it was what lead you onto your currently train of thought. You softly squeezed his hand. "What are you thinking about?" You already knew the answer, but you asked anyhow.
You two spent the better part of an hour talking about the fight that he had with Strawhat and you couldn't help but to notice the smile that he would wear when he spoke about him occassionally. It warmed your heart to know that he liked the young pirate even though he lost. It seemed like it was a theme. Not that any of you would tell Big Mom.
"You like him." You teased Katakuri softly. You moved to adjust yourself, propping up pillows against his side that wasn't impaled so that you could lean against him. Making sure not to causing him any pain or to disturb any of his injuries as you carefully did so.
"I respect him."
"He's hard not to like." You responded with a chuckle. You couldn't help but to like him too even though you didn't interact with him directly. You were secretly a fan of the Strawhat Pirates. You thought that they were spunky and you liked that. "Like you." You then said, suddenly thinking about how Luffy kind of reminded you of a younger version of your husband.
"Do you only like me? Even after all this time?"
For a moment, you were legitimately caught by surprise. You two were not big on intimate displays of affection and you weren't very touchy with each other, but you had surely thought that he knew how you felt about him. "You're impossible to not love." You whispered to him, bringing your lips down to his as you softly kissed him.
PROLOGUE ⢠SANEMI SHINAZUGAWA X LUNAR PILLAR!READER
A/N: oh boy! The fic that started it all is back in progress (with a slight title change).
This will be a slightly canon-divergent AU, wherein Lunar Breathing is inherited and there's actually some power involved with the breathing techniques as a whole (as opposed to the styles just being nice sword movements with illustrations lmao).
Reader will be Sanemi's tsuguko for a time, and she will eventually become a Hashira. This is their story.
This will be a multi-part fic. Be warned: the Reader is a very morally gray character (but we love her for it).
@ghost-1-y thank you for reminding me of my love for this fic.
Massive CW: 18+, canon-typical violence, graphic violence, gore, child death, and implied S/A. Smut to come. MDNI.
Sanemi was there that day; the day she became part of the Corps.
The day her world ended.
It was fucking freezing that morning. The sky was a muted gray as snow drifted down from the heavens in wet, fat clumps. It had started sometime the previous night, and by the morning, the village had been covered in its thick blanket.
The carnage, however, was fresh, and so the snow was not white.
Only an hour had passed since the watery gray light of dawn bled into the sky from the east, when Sanemiâs crow swooped low over his head, tugging frantically at his hair. Beside him, the Flame Pillar ducked as his own crow joined the panic.
âNortheast! Northeast! Right at the base of the mountain! A horde of demons attacked the village!â They cried in tandem.
Not just one. A horde. A swarm of demons had descended upon a moderately populated merchant village, tearing it and its people to shreds.Â
Both the Wind and Flame Pillars furiously made their way northeast, one of the crows bleating that Tengen and Iguro were also en route. As they ran, the birds alternated in snaring what little information they had of the village, and what had prompted the attack.Â
It was because of her; or rather, her family.
The head of the village was a merchant known for his imports from the West. His success meant the village prospered as a whole, and it was popular for its numerous small shops and tea houses which lined the streets, always crowded with locals and travelers alike.Â
Demons had no use for money or exotic baubles; but Muzan Kibutsuji had a keen interest in obliterating Lunar Breathing from the world.
So he had.Â
The very merchant whose business prowess bolstered the local economy with his imports was directly descended from the clan which had created Lunar Breathing, Breath of Sunâs powerful, dark twin. The merchant was the youngest and only living relative of the aging head of the Lunar Clan, a retired Hashira whoâd never taken a wife. But unlike the other breathing techniques, Lunar Breathing was an inherited talent, and without an heir, there would be no one to continue the great familyâs legacy.Â
That burden was thus placed on the surviving eldest child of the merchant whose village both Sanemi and his comrade now rushed to.
There had been an elder son, Rengokuâs crow revealed, but he had died a few years prior from illness. And so, the merchantâs middle child was made the new heir, tasked with the mission of becoming a demon slayer so that she could continue on the Lunar Breathing tradition.Â
Her.
There was no word as to whether she had been present for the attack. Final Selection ended only a few days prior, and it was entirely possible that she either had been killed on the Mountain, or that she was still making her way back to the village, unaware that no one would be there to welcome her home.
There was certainly no greeting for the Pillars when they finally arrived at the mountainâs base. The village was eerily silent as Sanemi and Rengoku crossed over the small bridge abutting its ravine; still. Dawn had given way to a dark gray sky, and visibility was not ideal.
Not that it wouldâve taken much effort to see the blood and gore that littered the villageâs once lively streets.
âWhat on earth?â The Sound Pillarâs familiar voice broke the silence, as he and Iguro approached their comrades from the Eastern gate of the village. Behind them, trailed a group of nearly thirty Kakushi.Â
The Hashira slowly took in the nightmare around them, stunned into horrified silence as they beheld the level of destruction which had befallen the village just hours before.
âKakushi. Spread out. Look for any survivors. They may be buried or hiding.â Rengokuâs voice was steady but uncharacteristically grave, his face stony and hard. âShinuzagawa, we should make our way to the Lunar Merchantâs estate. We need to send word to the Clan head right away if-â
âYou didnât hear?â Iguro interjected. âThe head of the Lunar House is dead.â Though the lower half of his face was covered, the anguish on the Serpent Pillarâs face was evident. âThatâs where Uzui and I just came from. He was ripped to shreds.â
âFuck,â Sanemi hissed, a toxic mixture of anger, guilt roiling in his gut. An entire clan â and entire villageâ had been decimated in a matter of hours, and no one had been able to protect them.
They hadnât been able to protect them.Â
âHave we any word on the Lunar heir?â Rengoku asked quietly. Iguro and Uzui shook their heads. âThen she likely is lost, too.â The Flame Pillar turned back to Sanemi, his face a mirror of his own. âLetâs go.â
The snow and wind picked up just as the two swordsmen approached the Lunar Merchantâs manor, obscuring part of the wreckage before them. From the corner of his eye, Sanemi swore he spied movement out of the back corner of the estate, but when he turned to examine it, all was still.
Beflre he could inquire further, a sharp gasp to his right snapped his attention back to the Pillar at his side. But Rengoku was not looking at him; rather, he was staring directly ahead, right to the courtyard of the manor.
âHeavens above,â the Flame Hashira whispered.Â
Sanemi followed his gaze through what had been once-proud iron gates, though only half of it remained hinged. The other had been ripped from its stone setting, twisted by some unfathomable strength and thrown carelessly to the side. Just past the gate, Sanemi beheld a single, bloodied arm.Â
His heart dropped sickeningly to his stomach at what lay beyond it; for there was not an inch of ground that hadnât been saturated with blood and bits of gore. Â
Chunks of flesh and torn limbs bearing harsh jagged teeth marks were strewn across the snowy garden. Broken glass and wood from the manor littered the ground, and the few walls that remained standing had been showered in a thick coat of crimson.
But the carnage did not end with the massacre on the courtyard. Sanemi forced himself to look upon the half-severed bodies of those whoâd been stuck to the sloped roofing of the Manor, as though some demon had plucked fleeing humans from the yard to feast on them mid-air, adorning the handsome estate with a shower of bloodied entrails.Â
He did not notice the small group of Kakushi that had arrived at the Manor until he heard their gasps and cries of horror. Behind him, Sanemi heard one or two begin to retch, unable to stomach the carnage before them.
âMove!â Sanemi barked, his voice scratchy over the lump forming in his throat. âFucking look for survivors! Anyone!â
A few paces ahead, Rengoku called up to the crows checking above. âDo you have a description of the heir?â
âShe is around eighteen, Lord Rengoku!â
Not helpful, given that most of the bodies around them were unrecognizable. But it was something.Â
Rengoku turned back to Sanemi. âI will check inside the house. You!â Rengoku called to a small group of three Kakushi nearby, âWith me!â
Sanemi continued to make his way through the debris and body parts in the courtyard, lifting stone and wood in hope that he might find someone â anyone â who had managed to hide. Yet that hope dimmed with every stone he turned, as he found only the scraps of the people whoâd once called the Manor home.
He came across a large chunk of curved, chiseled stone that was half-embedded into the soft ground below. Grunting, Sanemi heaved the rock aside, thinking it was perhaps part of some fountain or statue.
His stomach lurched as the stone toppled heavily over. For there, crushed beneath the weight of the rock, was the small body of a child, severed completely at the torso. Her two halves lay next to one another, a ragged seam torn between the two as though pulled apart by force.
Sanemi felt the bile rise in his throat as his gaze fell upon the childâs face, utterly frozen in fear. Though death had snuffed out the light of life from her eyes, it had done nothing to conceal the terror sheâd felt in her last moments, the girlâs mouth stretched wide, fixed in her final scream.Â
She was no older than ten.Â
He could not help it. Sanemi turned away from the grisly sight and vomited into the snow, every inch of him trembling. He wretched until his stomach was empty and his throat burned from the acid and strain of his dry-heaving.Â
With great effort, he managed to straighten, his breath short and choppy. But he forced his legs to carry him forward, though any hope that they would find the Lunar Heir or any survivor grew dimmer by the second.
Even as Hashira, Sanemi knew heâd never seen wreckage quite like this.
He neared the center of the courtyard, and halted before a large, circular stone inset that had been smashed to gravel, leaving only a single, large piece of rounded stone wall standing.
Found the fountain, Sanemi thought bitterly. Another sharp, icy gust of wind whipped its way through the courtyard, disturbing the little bit of snow that wasnât packed down with the carnage. But the wind also stirred up something else, something dark and wispy.Â
Had the Wind Pillarâs lilac gaze been focused anywhere but that piece of stone, he would have missed it softly fluttering up before disappearing beneath the lip of the fountain.Â
Lips mashed into a tight line, Sanemi moved to examine the other side of the broken stone. As he did so, Rengoku reappeared on the outer steps of the engawa surrounding the Manor, a frown etched deeply on his face.
âShinazugawa, something is off. The demonsâ presence is obvious, but the house looks like it was ransackedâ jewels, silks, valuables, all strewn about. Some of it seems to be missing ââ
âI found her.â Sanemi bit out, gruffly. âThe heir.â
It was her hair, Sanemi realized. Her hair was what had been disturbed by the wind, a few strands having drifted up before settling back down upon the bloodied shoulder of the lifeless girl collapsed before the fountain.
Had there not been a thick spread of red-stained snow and earth beneath her, Sanemi almost would have thought sheâd been sleeping. Her face was almost devoid of any injury, save for a few fresh scratches along her jaw and temple. Her eyes were closed, long dark lashes tickling a soft, and unblemished cheek, as pale and smooth as the Moon. And there was a serenity to her expression, a calmness that posed a stark contrast to the chaos and horror which surrounded her.
The rest of her had not been left untouched. Sanemi noted that while she appeared to have maintained her limbs, her back was soaked in blood, no doubt the source of the large stain beneath her. Grimly, he noted that her blood still oozed from an unknown wound between her shoulders. Her left arm was stretched out before her, wrist bent at an unnatural angle, its skin mottled from a mixture of the cold and an attempt to bruise before her blood had ceased flowing in her veins.Â
Beneath the torn and bloodied haori around her shoulders, were a pair of pants and a fitted, long sleeved top which had clearly seen better days. Her clothes hosted various tears and stains, and she was so caked in blood and mud that it was difficult to further discern her bodyâs condition.
The crows had said the Lunar Heir was around eighteen years of age, but as Sanemi stared at her lifeless form, all he could think about was how small she looked; how young sheâd been, when she lost her life to the brutality of demons.
The thought made his blood run cold.
âNo doubt this is her,â Rengoku said heavily, nodding at wounds Sanemi had not noticed on her hands. Squinting, the Wind Pillar spied bruises and cuts in various stages of healing dotting her knuckles and fingers.Â
He suspected more lay beneath her soiled clothing.
âFinal selection wounds,â the Flame Pillar confirmed. âShe must have just returned from the mountain when the attack began. Perhaps she even stumbled into the middle of it.â Rengoku shook his head. âShe didnât stand a chance.â
It was well known that even if one survived final selection, they would likely descend the mountain with some degree of injury. Seven nights without access to shelter, food, or water was difficult enough, but the added danger of starving demons almost guaranteed that one would not emerge unscathed.
She must have been wounded, and severely enough to slow her return home by a few days. Even if she had the skill to hold her own against the swarm of demons that had attacked her village, whatever injuries she sustained during final selection likely sealed her fate.
Sanemi swore, looking over the last of the Lunar Breathing Clan, the acrid bite of guilt and pity seeping hotly into his veins. The poor girl survived the controlled horrors of final selection only to meet an even more grisly end at her home â where she was supposed to be safe.Â
Cruelty; utter cruelty, and a damn tragedy.
âShe will get a Slayerâs burial, in the Masterâs garden.â Rengoku declared firmly, raising his voice so the nearby Kakushi would hear. âShe passed Final Selection; sheâs one of us.â
âNo,â Sanemi said, voice hoarse. âBury her here with her family.â His eyes returned to the girlâs face, an inexplicable bitterness coating his tongue. âShe fought to return to them; let her be with them.â
He lifted his eyes back up to the ochre gaze of the Flame Pillar. Rengoku stared at him for a long moment, before nodding, turning back to the Kakushi. âYou heard Shinazugawa. Letâs give them all a proper burial.â
The Kakushi began to move, thorough and efficient even among the horror around them. Sanemi readied himself to assist, moving to stand when his eyes snagged on the girlâs torso, his gaze drawn to the sizeable swath of smooth skin that was exposed to the icy bite of the snow. His frown deepened as he took note of the odd way that her clothes sat around her exposed abdomen. The girl was half laid on her side, but the front of her shirt was bunched and twisted together, like it had been gathered and shoved out of the way.Â
His eyes lowered a fraction to the front of the girlâs pants. At first glance, all seemend normal, her trousers fitted at her hips, but that was precisely what caught his eye. The waistband on the girlâs pants slotted across her lower hips, not higher up on her waist as it should have been. One side was noticeably lower than the other, almost as though theyâd nearly been tugged off.
Almost as if-
Sanemi felt the hairs on his body rise. Looking over the girl once more, he noted the suspicious lack of claw marks and bite marks to her body; the way that she seemed intact, compared to the bodies of her friends and family scattered in pieces around her.
And her blood â her blood appeared more fresh than what was caked in the snow around them, as though sheâd been attacked right before the Corps arrived at the manorâs gate.
âRengoku,â Sanemi said sharply, and the Flame Hashira was back at his side in an instant. Sanemi jutted his chin toward the girlâs body and Rengoku followed his gaze. He could see the gears turning in his comradeâs head, the owlish Slayer steadily taking note of the odd skew of her clothes and her lack of demon-like injuries.
âHow many demons do you know that try to-,â Sanemi ground his teeth at the word that came to mind, his blood boiling hot. âHave their way with victims before eating them?â
âNot many,â Rengoku conceded darkly, a similar anger simmering in his eyes. âThough not unheard of. It is⌠rare. Most canât resist their hunger.âÂ
He fell silent for a moment, contemplating.
âDidnât you say the house had looked ransacked?â Sanemi turned his gaze away from the girl and towards the broken doors of the manor.
Rengokuâs eyes widened. âYes. As if someone came in and grabbed anything they could.â
Sanemi nodded. âBandits. Probably heard about the attack and got excited to loot. Found a body that wasnât completely torn apart by demons and tried to take advantage.âÂ
Rather than bile, Sanemi felt anger, hot and lethal, threatening to spill out of him.Â
If he found them, they would receive no mercy, human or not.
Rengoku exhaled sharply through his nose, a weariness clouding over his features. âThough I donât suppose we can really know for sure. There isnât enough left of anyone else to compare.â
Rengoku clasped his hands in front of himself, and he closed his eyes, offering a small prayer for the girl. âWhatever happened to her, sheâs gone now. Let us ensure she can rest.âÂ
He turned to head back to where the Kakushi had begun digging graves for the deceased, leaving Sanemi alone once more.
Heâd stared the spot where the girlâs body had lain long after a pair of Kakushi gently removed her to ready her for her burial, watching with hollow eyes and a hollow heart as the one of them â a female â tenderly brushed the girlâs hair from her face and straightened her haori. Theyâd crossed her arms over her middle and gingerly carried her to join the remains of her family.
Hers was the last of the graves to be prepared. The Kakushi were just beginning to pack the mud and snow over her body when one of them collapsed from exhaustion. The group resolved to take a small water break before finishing, and neither Shinazugawa nor Rengoku had the desire to object.Â
After all, digging nearly twenty graves was no easy task.
Both Hashira assisted with the effort, and their combined strength and stamina had streamlined the task considerably. While the Kakushi rested, Rengoku departed for the front gates to update Uzui and Iguro, whoâd been dealing with the wreckage within the village, assisted by reinforcements of both Kakushi and lower rank slayers called in to assist with the clean up and burial.
In total, over two hundred graves were dug, and not a single survivor had been found.
It was a heavy day â perhaps one of the darkest in the Corpâs history, and its crowning poisoned jewel was the eradication of one of the oldest breathing styles. The news that there was one less defense against the demons was not a welcome one.Â
Sanemi had gone to the other side of the courtyard, away from the voices and graves and rising stink of death. Out of sight from any prying eyes, he found a tree and shoved his fist through it, clear to the other side. Splinters of bark exploded around his arm and bit into the skin around his knuckles and palm, but Sanemi could not find it in himself to care; he sought only to break through the silent numbness threatening to consume him.
Because heâd taken refuge on the other side of the courtyard, away from the new burial site, Sanemi did not see the hand and arm that shoved through the pile of earth resting atop the last grave. He did not see clawed fingers sinking into the mud and snow, desperately seeking purchase as the body attached to the arm hauled itself â herself â from beneath the earth, the remnants of her grave skittering to the side as she heaved her body out.
Sanemi did hear the terrified shriek of the Kakushi, and immediately he drew his sword. In the distance, he could hear Rengoku roaring orders at the terrified attendants, though he could not discern the specifics.Â
The Wind Pillar came into view of the gravesite right as the girl spilled out from the hole in the ground, using her bare hands to pull herself forward as the rest of her body remained limp.
Sanemi Shinazugawa was not a pious man; in fact, he considered himself rather skeptical of the idea of faith. If there were truly any gods out there, then Sanemi wanted nothing to do with them. They chose to let chaos and devastation run rampant. They chose to let demons exists.
But hell apparently had frozen over, and Sanemi found himself offering a prayer for the girlâs forgiveness as he prepared to behead her demonized form. He hoped she would understand; after all, sheâd joined the Corps intending to rid of the world of the very thing sheâd now become.
It was what he hoped one his his fellow Hashira would do for him, if he ever found himself in that situation.
As the Swordsman cocked his blade, ready to strike the crawling demon from behind, Rengoku cried out. âShinazugawa, NO!â
Sanemi stuttered, his arm in mid-swing as he neared the demonâs neck. A flash of violet and white shot towards him, and a piercing shriek of metal tore through the sky as Uzuiâs blade parried his, the force of the clash knocking him out of the air. A frustrated grunt echoed from his chest, and with great effort, Sanemi twisted mid-air to avoid falling flat on his ass, just barely managing to land swiftly on the balls of his feet.
âWhat the fuck,-â His vicious snarl faltered at the expression on the Flame Hashiraâs face, frozen and gaping. In that moment, Sanemiâs ears picked up on the faint thumping of a heart beating rapidly and unevenly below him. His nose suddenly burned with the strong scent of iron. The stench of blood so metallic that it could not have been anything but fresh.Â
Ears ringing, the Wind Pillar shoved past his stupefied comrades. Only when he was face to face with her did Sanemi finally understand why the Flame Pillar had been so desperate to stop his sword from hitting its mark.Â
The three Hashira were not looking at a newly turned and bloodthirsty demon. Instead, dragging her way across the bloodstained, muddied snow, was the Lunar Heir, deathly pale and trembling..Â
The girl whose death they feared doomed the Lunar Breathing House had clawed her way out from her grave with nothing but her hands and sheer will. Sheâd not been dead, after all.
Slowly, so slowly, her eyes lifted to glare up at the one standing directly before her. Though she strained to raise her head more than half an inch, her silver eyes met Sanemiâs lavender gaze, and a violent chill shot up his spine as he beheld what simmered within them.
Defiance.Â
Pain.Â
Rage. So, so much rage, relentless and raw. And so very human.
She reached another quivering hand out before her to further drag herself away from her tomb. A thin sheen of sweat coated her pallid skin, and fresh crimson began to seep into the snow beneath her.Â
Sanemiâs eyes flit to the stain on her back, where fresh blood oozed from the deep wound.
She was panting, clearly fighting every urge in her body to give in, to let death beckon her back into its sweet embrace.
âI-Iâm not dead!â She grit out in between shallow, uneven breaths, her jaw clenched tightly enough to crack her teeth.Â
The three Hashira remained dumb and silent for half a heartbeat before-
âWhat are you all standing there for?â Uzui bellowed. âHelp her!âÂ
The Kakushi sputtered into action, several of them crouching down around the girl to aid her.Â
âDonât touch me!â She screamed, eyes screwed shut and her head bowed defensively over her hands as she clenched her fists into the earth. The Kakushi fell back, looking anxiously to the Pillars to await further orders, but even they were at a loss. After several, harsh breaths through her nose, the Lunar Heir turned her face up, her gaze clashing with Sanemiâs once more.
He recognized the fear in her eyes, visceral and deep. Whatever sheâd experienced over the last few hours had overtaken all her senses. She had no logic, no ability to rationalize that she was among other humans, among comrades.Â
Instead, all that drove her now was the primal instinct to survive.
And to her, they were another threat.
She continued to try and crawl away from them, but her movements grew even shakier, more unstable, as the blood loss combined with her physical exhaustion. Rengoku caught his comradesâ eyes, waiting to confirm their next move.Â
A quick shared nod sent Sanemi stepping quietly into her blindspot. Swiftly, the Wind Pillar struck the pressure point on the back of the womanâs neck with his hand, and she crumpled against the ground, unconscious and still. Gingerly, Sanemi lifted her over his shoulder, mindful of the open wound on her back.Â
Once she was secured, the Hashira and their Kakushi began their frantic sprint toward the Butterfly Mansion.
