I need a redeemed Luthor being a dad to Kon.
After years of villainy Luthor has realized that he is wrong about Superman. Superman is not the monster he has tried to make the world see him as. All along Superman has been one of Earth's greatest protectors.
Luthor knows he has a lot to atone for. He has started using LexCorp and his vast fortune to establish charities, support afterschool programs, and overall make Metropolis and the world at large a better place.
But there is one thing that he's not sure how to atone for, Kon. He created Kon as a weapon against Superman using Superman's and his own DNA. Kon was, biologically speaking, his son. As much as Luthor told himself that Kon was nothing more than a weapon, he loved being the boy's father's for those first six months after he left the test tube.
It stung when Kon defected and joined Superman.
Over the years he treated Kon horribly, especially given their blood relation. Still, Luthor kept track of Kon, he had a happy family, two loving boyfriends, and was extremely intelligent. Even in his days as a villain this made him immeasurably proud.
A few months after his turn away from villainy, during a charity gala in Gotham, Luthor saw Kon alone, he was likely there as Tim Drake's plus one (plus two?). He approached Kon and began small talk. Kon looked uncomfortable with the conversation... Luthor knew he had to apologize for everything, so he did.
Kon was shocked and failed to respond for a seconds. When Kon found his words he said that he has seen his turnaround and was happy he had seen the light, but was not sure if he was ready to forgive him, let alone have a relationship. Luthor smiled and told Kon to take all the time he needed, that he would always have a home with him should he want it.
A few weeks later while Luthor was preparing dinner he heard a knock from his balcony. He turned around and saw Kon on the other side of the door. Letting him neither spoke. As Luthor returned to the stove he offered Kon dinner to which Kon agreed.
They eat in quiet for a few minutes before Kon spoke up. He said that he was still unsure about everything. He remembered those short months before Luthor started sending him on missions, how good of a dad he had been. But after that he hunted him, his other dad, and Kryptonian relatives down like animals.
Luthor looked away, unable to look Kon in the eyes. Kon took a deep breath before continuing, saying that he sees that Luthor is trying to turn his life around and given that he would be willingly to give their relationship other try.
Progress was slow over the next few months. Luthor gave Kon a room in his penthouse in which he stayed some nights. Kon would sometimes show up during the day on Luthor would show him around LexCorp and brief him about their newest initiative. Slowly Kon grew more confrontable around Luthor, being more open about his life.
Half a year after they started rebuilding their relationship, as Kon was leaving, he accidently called Luthor "dad." Kon was embarrassed, his face bright red. Luthor on the other hand almost started crying. Kon flew out of the penthouse without saying another world. Luthor watched him fly away with a smile, and said, "I love you, son," knowing that Kon could hear him.
