Finding out Hans Zimmer is a transphobe genuinely had me falling to my knees
Thank you blastybaku for explaining this!/gen
If you've ever heard a movie score and thought "holy shit, this is incredible", there's like, a 50% chance it was Hans Zimmer who composed it.
This is a pretty major letdown, ngl.
Anyways, fuck transphobes, which includes Hans Zimmer, apparently.
Anyway shoutout to John Williams, amazing composer and probably the one who made the other 50% of "holy shit amazing" soundtracks (Jurassic Park, Star Wars, Superman, and incidentally the original Harry Potter theme and score) who famously worked closely with the first openly transgender woman to be nominated for an Academy Award, Angela Morley. He respected her, and so far as I can see, has never made transphobic remarks.
vivian wilson really roasted lindsey graham so hard that he died the day after this got posted.
the smartypants society are the new world order.
The Tube Post has been updated for 2026! Endless thanks to @andstuffsketches for the amazing art (!!!), @rowenabean for checking this over for me (all remaining mistakes are my own), @kelpforestdwellers for extra tips, and @appleyblam for an editing pass. Thank you all!
If you would like to download the zine for your own use, you can find it for free on itch.io.
Hey uh, I don't like making call-out-type posts, but I feel like I need to say something and warn people.
Maybe don't join the new up-and-coming BJD forum called Resin Grove.
I know it looks really promising, I fell for it too, but not only do they use genAI for coding (and probably other things), the husband of the creating duo is very pro-AI and super MAGA. Apparently the wife/main creator is "apolitical", but yeah.
Be careful guys. I know we're searching for a DOA replacement, but this is not the one.
waddle dee cafe :D
friends, of course collaboration with @studio-of-woof !
Hearing my grandpa talking about how he thinks things are going downhill because they let nonwhite people into the city and trying my best not to tell him he’s a piece of shit
The kind of shit racist white people will say out loud and assume everyone is on their side because they’re surrounded by other white people is insane, just sitting here complaining that young people are being brainwashed and that’s why they want other people to have rights, no old man I want people to have rights because I have a fucking soul, something you clearly don’t have
Maybe I should use references more often..
dropped my rabbit and their head broke off :(
chocolate rabbit. chocolate. rabbit. edible chocolate easter rabbit. chocolate. not real. not furry rabbit. chocolate. the chocolate head of the chocolate bunny broke off. all chocolate. no living creature
You CAN and SHOULD report these things to the state licensing board for realtors as well as your state's trade regulators. This is fraud and depending on the state, you can receive a small bounty for each listing you report since the agent/real estate firm responsible gets fined and eventually lose licensure over this type of fraud.
If you don't mind me asking, how do you make your dolls' hair?
basically all of my dolls have their hair glued directly to the head. i've made one or two wigs, but i don't really like using them because a lot of my dolls have visible hairlines & hair that lies very flat. i avoid gluing anything on top of the head cap seam so the head can still be opened, but it tends to be a hassle with the way i make dolls.
for materials, i love unconventional stuff like paper, fake plants, or craft foam.
silk clay is a fun new discovery i've used a couple of times & will use again. in both of the above examples i rolled the clay into a thin sheet, cut into strips, and then curled them, but you could do so many other things also.
feathers are cool & versatile because you can embrace the clear feather look, or use the fluffy parts to make something more like fine hair. i've also made feathers out of felt when i've wanted the vibe but not to deal with the finickiness of actual feathers.
all aforementioned materials are just glued straight into the doll head without needing to make wefts of any kind. then there is proper hair-hair, which i don't like working with, but sometimes we Must.
the few times i've done ultra long, sleek hair, i've used old wigs from either my own or friends' cosplay stashes. i've also harvested doll hair. i usually make wig fiber into wefts using hot glue, and then glue them to the head in whatever pattern works for the hairstyle. i hate wig hair though. it's thick and hard to style in doll scale and too slippery to stay put. very situational.
i vastly prefer acrylic yarn. it can be sleek when straightened with a hair straightener, frizzy when left as it is, or curly when styled with a heated metal stick. if you want to curl acrylic hair on a small scale, i would recommend gluing it into small wefts, curling them, and then gluing the hair to the head.
there are a million tutorials about making acrylic wefts, and i recommend following NONE OF THEM. i Do Not Get why the common method is to cut the hair to the length you want and then forcefully tear it open with a brush. you lose most of the hair that way.
instead, buy your yarn as thick and loosely spun as you can. i personally use this one with only two strands. cut it into 50cm - 1m pieces. while keeping the yarn under tension, unravel the strands from each other. then you can just pull the fibers apart gently, and get the maximum length of hair [usually a little over 10cm] out of it without wasting material. if you cut the yarn into short tufts and brush it open, you will get shorter fibers and also a lot of them will come loose and be an unusable ball of fluff.
after unraveling the yarn, i glue it into wefts with white glue on top of a plastic cutting board it's easy to pry of off when dry.
my favorite thing about acrylic yarn is that it can be posed with the doll, and can easily hold gravity-defying positions. also really the only type of hair that it's easy to do short styles in.
you can also do fun things like soak it in glue for a wet look.
sometimes i also use fur fabric. it's super dense & thick for hair, but can work well situationally. the little fur ponytail on the troll above is one of my favorite hairstyles i've made.
I don’t think healthy people every really get chronic illness.
I have a friend I know from when we were both 6. She is the only person living nearby and so she saw me go from walking through limping to wheelchair on a daily basis. I keep her updated on my health even tho we rarely hang out anymore. She was gonna come over yesterday and I had to cancel. She asked if I can’t hang out later that day. When I said i won’t feel better later, that if I feel that bad in the morning later will only get worse she got annoyed and “joked” that I’m just finding excuses. And I was surprised, she knows all about me being disabled after all? So, a bit taken aback, I told her it’s a normal thing for me.
“But you got the diagnosis now, aren’t you better?? I thought you’ll get better now”
She was honestly surprised and it made me realize a thing. They don’t get it. They don’t get that getting diagnosed only equals benefits like welfare or parking spot for us, and sometimes better pain meds but that is just like pushing luck. That it’s a forever thing. That that one day we felt good a week ago was just a bright spot and doesn’t mean we won’t need our aids anymore, cause chronic illness is not linear and will make a great comeback in next four hours, and the next good day is planned on when we’re 70. Cause when abled people are sick, they get better. And our illness is just an excuse for them. And when we say we will never get better they think we’re being dramatic and pessimistic. And I don’t think they’ll ever get it, cause to get it you need to live it. And I want my friends to stay healthy and not go through hell.
This is definitely okay to reblog and abled people are encouraged to reblog cause maybe it’ll help others understand
Hello it’s me Lexa and this post is relevant again as I just had the Legit Same Talk with someone and I exhausted my number of fucks to give
It never ceases to amaze me how much Healthy People Don’t Get It.
My OH gets upset sometimes because I try to not talk about being sick to their parents and I rarely take up their parents’ offers of help, but it just involves so much ongoing Not Getting It that it uses far more spoons than it could ever save.
We travelled a long way to their cousin’s wedding a few months ago and the hotel turned out to be monumentally inaccessible, and it was made *so* much worse by them not getting that after a nine-hour drive and then the lift being broken and the receptionist being *horrible* and forcing me to crawl up the stairs on my hands and knees, that no, I was physically incapable of going out for dinner and was in fact barely restraining myself from weeping in pain and fatigue. And we’ve been married for more than 15 years; they’ve seen me the entire time I’ve been sick.
And I’ve had total crashes in front of them before, and it was awful, and they were incredibly worried and upset about it, and I had to use spoons I really didn’t have to explain it all, and in the end they seemed to get it.
But it doesn’t *stick*. It all resets.
So that after a couple of months it’s as though it never happened.
It’s like living in Groundhog Day.
Healthy people are just, apparently, incapable of processing the idea that *this is our lives*, and no, we can’t turn it off for fun or to make their lives easier, and resting in advance or getting a good night’s sleep doesn’t solve it. It’s what we live with constantly, and it really does suck on its own, but the constant lack of getting it and blaming from healthy people really does make it so, so much worse.
Much love and solidarity to you, OP
