i'm very happy with cookie clicker's success of course but it's difficult to tell if it was a freak fluke or if there was some sort of unsuspected secret sauce at play. could i do it again. modesty aside somewhere in my hundreds of design docs for other game ideas there could be the game industry equivalent of a nuclear bomb. i must tread lightly
[lazy as shit, doesn't make anything] i.m saving the world
Computer loves to be like "fuck! You sure you want to shut down? Youve got volume mixer open"
As a 19-year-old sophomore at Stanford, Elizabeth Holmes decided to transform diagnostic medicine so she dropped out of college and used her tuition money to start her own company, Theranos. Ten years later, Holmes, pictured here holding a micro-vial, is on the cutting edge of medical technology — her new blood testing method allows hundreds of tests to be run using only a few drops of blood. And, Holmes’ methods are cheaper, faster, more accurate, and less invasive than conventional methods which often require a separate vial of blood for every test. As Holmes told Wired.com earlier this year, “I started this company because I wanted to spend my life changing our health care system. When someone you love gets really sick, most of the time when you find out, it’s too late to be able to do something about it. It’s heartbreaking… We wanted to make actionable health information accessible to people everywhere at the time it matters most. That means two things: being able to detect conditions in time to do something about them and providing access to information that can empower people to improve their lives.”

@macbaconai
i went to navy pier as a child and clowns took my father away and built a table out of him with three other dads and i always thought this was some unpleasant and vivid dream and i mentioned it to my mom one day a couple years ago and she was like Yaa when we went to chicago they made him do chair tricks with other men
they did this to him
I used to know this guy who had a bit that he'd habitually do while hanging out in a group, where he'd make eye contact with this really worried "dude there's something I gotta tell you" look on his face and very subtly gesture at you like it's important, and you need to hear this, but he doesn't want anyone else knowing, so you've got to be discreet about it. And he was a good guy and a good friend, so him wanting to tell you something that that he doesn't want to tell everybody could very well be him trying to spare you from embarrassment, or even warning you about something dangerous going on that isn't apparent on the surface of the situation.
And once I'd lean in to hear what he's got to say, he just whispered in my ear: "you're gay."
And he was so fucking good at doing it, that I fell for it every goddamn time.
stop it youre SCARING him!!
how can both things be true……
life…..is a many-faceted thing🚬……….
