There are all these moments you think you won’t survive. And then you survive.
David Levithan (via deeplifequotes)
My little sister is 11 and she likes to come into my room a lot and hang out with me, but sometimes when she comes in I’m in an introverted or depressed mood and don’t want to talk to anyone. Tonight she came in and said that my room was too quiet, so I told her to go listen to music or something because I didn’t really feel like talking. She sat there quietly for a couple of seconds and then she said, “I’m gonna tell you what happened in gym class today because it was really annoying, but you don’t have to talk back.” And she just started talking about her day to me and I don’t think enough people understand how helpful that is to someone who’s depressed. To be there with them and talk to them without expecting them to engage in conversation. It’s a way to be alone without feeling completely lonely and I think everyone who deals with depression or any other mental illness needs someone like my sister to understand that, and to interact with the people they care about based on their state of mind.
this is a good post
i know its the mets, but this is the coolest shit i’ve ever seen a human being do
Smoove with it too
This is the kind of shit you see in anime that shows that a certain character is stronger than other characters.
“Pathetic. You can’t even hold the bat you dare step to the plate? Have you no respect for the sport?”

Vintage women being badass. You’re welcome.
Don’t fool yourself into thinking ladies were demure and silent in the past.
I would like more female characters being this open
slytherin girls tapping their matte black nails impatiently on the desks, waiting for charms to be over so they can fix their roots, fiddling with the laces of their worn out combat boots, applying perfect winged eyeliner without even trying, scrawling their name in sharpies on the bottoms of their desks, wearing shorts in the dead of winter because they could, sending each other bad selfies in the middle of the night, perfecting the messy bun, dorms filled with old polariods and louboutins and old sweaters strewn everywhere
hufflepuff girls having kitchen raids at two in the morning, wearing ridiculously oversize yellow sweaters, using dry shampoo much too often, wearing the most glittery highlighters, perfecting curled ombre hair, using up whole packs of polaroid film at once, leaving nice notes on everyone’s bed, wearing ripped tights because why not, always laughing in the hallways, playing muggle music on old record players and dorms filled with all kinds of plants and cacti
gryffindor girls having the perfect dutch braids, all taking baths in the prefects bathroom at the same time, dancing in the rain, snapping their gum loudly, watching old films in the common room, perfecting the red lip, doing dares that seem stupid in the morning, playing muggle soccer on the quidditch pitch, group chats with every gryffindor girl, wearing red ponchos that are obnoxiously loud when you move, dorms draped in gold and covered in lights and always having enough snacks laying around
ravenclaw girls having study sessions and always writing the most beautiful notes, perfecting their sharp eyebrows, watching netflix when they’re supposed to be studying, making their own perfumes, running around in the hallways after curfew, having a flawless instagram feed, wearing tattered and ripped jeans, annotating books until they were covered in notes, brewing their own skin treatments, dorms filled with stacks of books and to do lists and covered in blue lights
The types as strangers I wish I had known
People are so beautiful in every way. I can’t help but love every single one of them.
INTJ: She is a girl in one of my classes. I hardly ever talked to her, but she is an extremely interesting person. I can’t say what it is exactly, but she has this quiet self-confidence shining from within. It’s not this overbearing kind of confidence that some people rub into other people’s faces. Instead, she is confident in herself, in her own capabilities, and in the person that she is. She doesn’t seem to feel the need to look down on anyone. But despite this shining confidence, I noticed her insecurity and nervousness when she gave a presentation which happened to be about feminism and that made me like her even more. Yet these insecurities of other people’s judgements didn’t make her look fragile or vulnerable. Not at all. It was endearing in a way. Also, she is insanely beautiful and doesn’t seem to care about that at all. She’s like a quiet Arab princess that could totally kick your ass, both intellectually and physically.
INTP: Over the last semesters, I attended some of the same classes as he did, but I’ve never talked to him. At the very beginning, I remember him sitting in the lecture halls watching animes on his laptop instead of paying attention. But over time, he became this nerd that raises his hand every few minutes to ask about something, starting with: “Concerning what you just said, I just thought about it and isn’t it possible that…” going into deep analyses. He drives some professors mad with his constant questioning of everything they say, but I also overheard some say that their seminars wouldn’t even work out without him. He’s also not afraid to burst out laughing in a quiet room or to tell a joke to a friend with shining eyes and such excitement (funny thing is, he is usually the one laughing harder about his own jokes than anyone else). He doesn’t seem to care at all what other people think of him, and that’s quite admirable. Generally, he’s like a Hermione Granger that isn’t driven at all, but rather studies just for his own entertainment. He’s probably one of the most intelligent people I’ve ever met.
ENTJ: I couldn’t figure him out. I don’t understand his reasons and it confuses me. He sat across from me on the train. And for twenty minutes, he sat there stiffly with his arms crossed and his head slightly tilted down. But whenever someone passed him, he closely watched them, followed them with his eyes without even raising his head. You could have mistaken his body language as submissive, but it really wasn’t. It was powerful. He was more of a rebel in disguise, waiting for his moment to shine while quietly judging people without being seen. But I don’t understand why anyone would cross their arms and bow their head like that on a normal train. People don’t do that. He must’ve had a reason. I spent way too much time already on finding that reason, but I’ll probably never know.
ENTP: I used to attend the same lecture he did and he was interesting from the minute he walked into the lecture hall. I usually sit in the last row where I can watch people without being seen like the creep that I am. He entered the lecture hall with this wild book-Harry-Potter-hair and with his hands on the straps of his backpack. He stood there for a bit gazing around, deciding where he should sit instead of just rushing in like everyone else. He had a constant grin on his face and laughing eyes even when he wasn’t laughing. There was always this little spark of amusement and quiet intelligence in his eyes. Sometimes he sat with friends. Then he would be the one joking around with this unusually expressive face of his. I don’t know, he just seemed like a genuinely nice guy with whom you could have the wildest and most interesting of conversations and always a good laugh.
INFJ: She is the girl in the mirror that doesn’t look like me. The image on the wall that is so familiar yet so strange, it knows about you. She knows who you are. She knows who you think you are, who you are trying to be, who you might be one day. She knows. She has always known. And that scares the hell out of you. She smiles at you, trying to ease the discomfort she’s causing you. She tries to make you laugh. She tries to make you smile, to make you happy. She tries to protect you. But who is she? Who is this strange girl in the mirror with the long wild hair and cheekbones as sharp as her tongue? What’s behind the smiling eyes, what’s going on inside this head of hers? Will I ever know?
INFP: We were on a ship, headed to a little island in the North Sea. He was travelling with his wife and his two daughters. His blonde hair was slowly turning grey and the smile wrinkles around his eyes were deep. In the two hours that I saw him, he hardly said a word, but he was always present. He paid attention to the harmless fights his teenage daughters had. He listened to his wife talking to some strangers about how great the holiday will be. And I’ve never seen a more endearing laughter than the quiet one that made his shoulders shake up and down while having his eyes closed, deepening the already deep wrinkles around his eyes. His laughter didn’t make a sound, but it was like the whole ship stopped and noticed his calm little joy. I’ve never looked into kinder eyes than his.
ENFJ: He is the greatest mystery of all. He is a walking contradiction. Both confident and shy, both intimidating and approachable, both extroverted and reserved. But how does that make sense? His eyes are like X-rays. He looks you in the eye and it’s like he can see right through every wall you ever built around yourself, like he has figured you out in a second, and he seems intrigued. When around other people, he is the one trying everything to keep the conversation going, trying to make the other smile, to make them laugh. He tends to be the centre of attention and he appears to like that, but only for a short while until he withdraws and stares intensely into space. He is the kind of guy that is liked by everyone and still is an enigma that no one really knows anything about. His presence is calm, like snow quieting down the world, and then he looks at you and you feel like you are the only person in the room. And if you look into his eyes, eyes that look so much older than the body they belong to, if you look past the kindness and self-doubt in them, you see a shy little muffin that just wants to love and be loved. We never spoke a word, but I love him more than I can say.
ENFP: We were on a ship, headed back from this holiday island that I love so much. I was travelling alone and the ship was overcrowded, so this woman asked if she and her daughter could sit at my table. Her daughter was about twelve, maybe thirteen years old and such a free spirit that it made me laugh inside because it kept annoying her mother so much. “Do you have your shirt on back to front?” “I don’t know.” “Yes, you do. You can’t walk around like that. Go and put it on properly.” “Why? I don’t care.” “But everyone’s staring at you! What will they think of us?” “No one’s looking, mum, because no one cares. I think I’m gonna go outside and look at the waves for a bit. See you later.” She then stood up and loped out of the room with her wildly swinging ponytail while I was left with her baffled mother.
ISTJ: I see her twice a week on the train early in the morning when she is probably on her way to work. She is always neatly dressed and her short hair looks on point every time. I’m not quite sure what it is about her that makes her so interesting. It’s her whole demeanor. How she walks upright with her head held high. How she looks at all kinds of people in an interested way. How she always keeps a straight face. She seems so pragmatic, down to earth, and smart. She kind of radiates a No-shit-Sherlock-vibe that makes her seem like a tough boss that is respected by everyone and that is, deep down, actually really good at heart.
ESTJ: She was a lioness. She was strong and she was kind. I left the bus at the same station as she and her disabled daughter did, and I walked behind them for a minute or two. And I saw nothing but love. They seemed very close and they were both laughing about something. Her daughter was all grown up and didn’t really need any help with anything, but her mother was always there, just in case. Not in a condescending way, not at all. It was more like her daughter was her world and everything she saw, everything she wanted to see. But at the same time, she respected her enough to suppress her motherly instincts and let her daughter go her own way. She decided to be on the sidelines of her daughter’s life and to be there for her when she needs her. And I think that’s beautiful.
ISFJ: Every time I happened to see them, I’ve never seen them apart from each other. When I watch a couple interact, I can usually immediately tell how the relationship is going and if it is going to last. Often, I can say that two people may love each other, and that they might stay together for a few months or for a year or two, but in the end, they won’t work out. Then, occasionally, very rarely so, there are these two people and it’s so obvious that these two are good. That they found the one and that they are so perfect together that you just want to cry looking at them because they are so beautiful together. This is the kind of couple I’m talking about here. They are still very young, maybe twenty or twenty-one, I don’t know. But that doesn’t matter, that doesn’t mean anything. Even if they are just silently standing next to one another, they are like the same person in two bodies. They are inseparable. When they are on the bus and she’s looking out of the window with these curious, shining eyes while he is only looking at her and smiles, when they are standing at the train station and make each other laugh so hard that both of them have to lean onto each other, I see that their love for each other is so pure and infinite, that it’s unconditional and omnipresent. They look so genuinely happy just to be with the other that it makes me happier than anything else.
ESFJ: Every other morning I see him drive his wife to the train station where he waits with her until the train arrives and she has to leave. They hold hands and laugh together about something while they wait. They try to spend every bit of the day possible with each other and they look so happy together. But then the train rolls in and she kisses him goodbye and she smiles at him and he smiles back. While I get on the train after his wife, I see him standing at the station until the train finally leaves. He waves at her one last time through the window until he turns and goes back to his car with a sad smile on his face. You know, I like to compare his love for his wife to a dog. Imagine a fluffy Golden Retriever that whimpers when he realises that you have to leave, and that jumps into your face out of joy as soon as you come back to him. That’s exactly what he is. He’s a Golden Retriever.
ISTP: I saw her on the train. She sat there all alone with a bottle of Vodka and a notebook peeking out from her backpack. She had wild curly hair, a nose ring and lots of freckles. During the twenty minutes she sat across from me, she was staring into space and was lost in thought. She was intense in every way. She was an incredibly strong lone wolf that reminded me so much of Sarah Manning, for those great people of you who have seen Orphan Black. I felt like, in a book, she’d be the underdog that needs to be reckoned with if you want to survive her once you angered her or laid hand on someone she cares about.
ESTP: He sat across from me on the train. I didn’t dare to really observe him as he was so present and observing himself that I didn’t want to give the wrong impression and creep him out. Because his constantly smirking eyes were all over the place. He looked out of the window, he watched people in their seats, he looked at me, he looked at the floor, he pensively stared at nothing. I could see that he was lost in thought, yet he was never absent-minded, and that was confusing. Absent-minded people are easy to watch and to analyse, but not him. He was thinking, but he still noticed. He noticed every little thing that happened around him and it was fascinating and intimidating at the same time.
ISFP: I was on a long-distance train at night on the way home from Paris, and for most of the time, I only saw him as a reflection on the windows. He was travelling alone with nothing but a backpack, slouching in his seat and half asleep. I don’t know, he just seemed like this kind of lone wolf who goes where the wind blows and doesn’t care what other people think about him, if his beard is getting too long, if he is drooling in his sleep, if people judge him for being who he is. He did his own thing and lived the life he wanted to. I hope he does.
ESFP: It was 7:30am when I saw her crying on the train. She wasn’t a mess. She just sat there in the train packed full of people and cried shamelessly and with dignity. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone look so sad, and I wish there was anything I could have done, but she didn’t seem to need any comfort. She sat there and accepted the fact that the was crying in front of lots of strangers. She had tears streaming down her face, but she held her head up high and didn’t care. There was a quiet strength behind her eyes that I admired so much.
(I’m very sorry if you got the impression that I might live on a train. Feels like it sometimes, though.)
So beautiful
mbti as magical creatures from harry potter
quotes from fantastic beasts and where to find them (the book)
infj: augurey
the augurey has a distinctive low and throbbing cry, which was once believed to foretell death. wizards avoided augurey nests for fear of hearing that heart-rending sound, and more than one wizard is believed to have suffered a heart attack on passing a thicket and hearing an unseen augurey wail.
entj: basilisk
the basilisk is a brilliant green serpent that may reach up to fifty feet in length. the male has a scarlet plume upon its head. it has exceptionally venomous fangs but its most dangerous means of attack is the gaze of its large yellow eyes. anyone looking directly into these will suffer instant death.
intj: centaur
the ways of the centaur are shrouded in mystery. they are generally speaking as mistrustful of wizards as they are of muggles and indeed seem to make little differentiation between us. they five in herds ranging in size from ten to fifty members. they are reputed to be well-versed in magical healing, divination, archery, and astronomy.
enfp: crup
the crup originated in the southeast of england. it closely resembles a jack russell terrier, except for the forked tail. the crup is almost certainly a wizard-created dog, as it is intensely loyal to wizards and ferocious towards muggles. it is a great scavenger
estj: erkling
the erkling is an elfish creature which originated in the black forest in germany. it is larger than a gnome (three feet high on average), with a pointed face and a high-pitched cackle that is particularly entrancing to children, whom it will attempt to lure away from their guardians and eat.
infp: erumpent
the erumpent will not attack unless sorely provoked, but should it charge, the results are usually catastrophic. the erumpent’s horn can pierce everything from skin to metal, and contains a deadly fluid which will cause whatever is injected with it to explode.
istp: griffin
like sphinxes, griffins are often employed by wizards to guard treasure. though griffins are fierce, a handful of skilled wizards have been known to befriend one.
esfp: fwooper
the fwooper has long been a provider of fancy quills and also lays brilliantly patterned eggs. though at first enjoyable, fwooper song will eventually drive the listener to insanity
entp: imp
it does, however, have a similar slapstick sense of humour. its preferred terrain is damp and marshy, and it is often found near river banks, where it will amuse itself by pushing and tripping the unwary.
estp: jarvy
it resembles an overgrown ferret in most respects, except for the fact that it can talk. true conversation, however, is beyond the wit of the jarvey, which tends to confine itself to short (and often rude) phrases in an almost constant stream.
isfj: kneazle
a small catlike creature with flecked, speckled, or spotted fur, outsize ears, and a tail like a lion’s, the kneazle is intelligent, independent, and occasionally aggressive, though if it takes a liking to a witch or wizard, it makes an excellent pet. the kneazle has an uncanny ability to detect unsavoury or suspicious characters and can be relied upon to guide its owner safely home if they are lost.
istj: knarl
the knarl is usually mistaken for a hedgehog by muggles. the two species are indeed indistinguishable except for one important behavioural difference: if food is left out in the garden for a hedgehog, it will accept and enjoy the gift; if food is offered to a knarl, on the other hand, it will assume that the householder is attempting to lure it into a trap and will savage that householder’s garden plants or garden ornaments.
isfp: niffler
fluffy, black, and long-snouted, this burrowing creature has a predilection for anything glittery. though the niffler is gentle and even affectionate, it can be destructive to belongings and should never be kept in a house.
enfj: merpeople
those wizards who have mastered the language of mermish speak of highly organised communities varying in size according to habitat, and some have elaborately constructed dwellings.
intp: runespoor
each of the runespoor’s heads serves a different purpose. the left head (as seen by the wizard facing the runespoor) is the planner. it decides where the runespoor is to go and what it is to do next. the middle head is the dreamer (runespoors may remain stationary for days at a time, lost in glorious visions and imaginings). the right head is the critic and will evaluate the efforts of the left and middle heads with a continual irritable hissing. the right head’s fangs are extremely venomous. the runespoor rarely reaches a great age, as the heads tend to attack each other. it is common to see a runespoor with the right head missing, the other two heads having banded together to bite it off.
esfj: jobberknoll
it makes no sound until the moment of its death, at which point it lets out a long scream made up of every sound it has ever heard, regurgitated backwards.
I just found out that Carrie Fisher has died, and I am absolutely devastated.
I actually got to meet and work with Carrie (and Gary) a few years ago while volunteering at a comic con, and it’s a day I’ll hold on to for the rest of my life. Carrie was, really and truly, everything you think she’d be, and more. I helped with her photo-op, making sure the fans were respectful & orderly, and Carrie was just a riot. She was witty and sarcastic, telling jokes and laughing, greeting everyone with such kindness (especially us workers). She really didn’t have to; after all, it’d been almost a 10 hour day & she was a HUGE celebrity. But she took the time to greet every person, and acknowledge every worker, which not everyone does. I remember her patiently explaining to young children why they couldn’t pet Gary, and telling dirty jokes to a fan in a slave Leia costume; I remember that mischievous twinkle in her eye, and how much she adored Gary. Carrie even stayed after the venue hall closed FOR TWO HOURS to make sure that every single person in line got their photo/autograph. After a grueling day, she still wasn’t grumpy, all smiles and witty banter, because she didn’t want anyone to feel like she treated them badly.
And of course, she was feisty; she did what she wanted, and definitely didn’t take any shit. She took a break right in the middle of the photo-ops b/c she wanted to, refused security on her smoke breaks, and kept trying to distract the camera man and workers by telling us jokes; and the only thing she would drink was Diet Coke out of a wineglass. (#iconic)
The picture of her I’ll always remember is her, walking from the photo-ops to the autograph table, holding a wineglass full of Diet Coke and Gary trotting along at her heels. She exuding such power, and grace, after such a long day, that I was blown away. It was such an iconic, incredible image; Carrie honestly looked like she ruled the universe.
So RIP to an extraordinary woman. The world gave her hell and she gave it hell right back. She was kind, funny, witty, mischievous, and utterly one-of-a-kind, and I loved her for it; she was living proof that things get better, and keep moving, even when you hit rock bottom.
Goodbye, Carrie Fisher. 💔😢
If you want cute names for your partner just use ones on candles they’re so beautiful like pumpkin spice or Passion flower or midnight rose or vanilla bean
Pro-Tip
I know most people associate LUSH Cosmetics with white girls and bath bombs but products from this beautiful company have faded my scars and stretch marks, completely gotten rid of my acne, fixed my dry skin problems, thickened my eyelashes, laid my edges, made my hair grow like crazy… I can go on and on. I’ve actually never tried the bath bombs, but their skincare and haircare products work magic.
Fading Scars / Stretch Marks Organic Therapy Massage Bar
Extra Dry Skin King of Skin In-Shower Body Conditioner, Skin Drink Facial Moisturizer, Sultana of Soap Bar, Tender is the Night Massage Bar, Each’s a Peach Massage Bar
Acne Fresh Farmacy Solid Cleanser, Eau Roma Toning Water, Full of Grace Serum Bar
Thickening Lashes Eyes Right Mascara / Lash Milk
Edges R&B Hair Moisturizer (if you put this on your edges before wrapping your hair, they’ll be relaxer-straight when you wake up, lasts about 12 hours), Dirty Styling Cream (cream-based edge control with a matte finish, no more shiny or crunchy edges)
Hair Growth NEW! Shampoo Bar, Retread Hair Conditioner
I was asked to list the rest of the products I currently have in my possession, so here y’all go!
FACE / HAIR STUFF
Magical Moringa Facial Moisturizer Oh my lordy. Let me tell y'all about this stuff. It’s marketed as a moisturizer but I use it as a primer because when you put this on your face, it’s completely matte. Like completely. All day. And it will lock your makeup in place like no other. You can sweat in it, swim in it, whatever. Shit won’t budge. Ever.
Jason & the Argan Oil Shampoo Bar Amazing for volumizing. It made the three bundles in my head look more like five when I used this thing the first time, I kid you not. Also gives your hair a really natural shine. I only use it when I really need a volume boost, otherwise it’s just too much.
No Drought Dry Shampoo If you have a weave, you need this stuff. Period. A lot of times, the natural oils in our scalps (referring to my fellow black women here) are too heavy for Brazilian, Peruvian, etc hair, and so it’s easy for weave to get weighed down between washes. Shake this stuff in your hair, brush it out - bam, flow city.
Honey Trap Lip Balm My favorite lip balm, ever. Really improves the texture of your lips and seals in moisture. However, this is not for fixing chapped lips - use Ultrabalm for that first, and then this to prevent them from chapping again. Also, pro-tip, if you apply it before liquid lipstick, your lipstick won’t crease or dry out all day.
MASSAGE BARS
Strawberry Feels Forever Smells like fresh strawberries! Has a much thinner consistency than the other massage bars, so it can be used every day, like a solid lotion.
Soft Coeur Smells like chocolate and honey, and is ridiculously moisturizing. More heavy-duty than the other bars, so I like to only use this one on spots like my knees, heels, and elbows.
From Dusk til Dawn The shape of this one is amazing. It’s shaped like a cone, so it gives a deep massage when you’re using it. Definitely recommend if you have any sort of muscle pain.
SCRUBS
The Rough with the Smooth This stuff smells soooo good. Like cotton candy. I use it before I shave because it really does an amazing job at removing any dead skin and it doesn’t leave a residue, so it won’t clog your razor. However, it’s a sugar scrub, so it melts super quickly.
Ocean Salt This is a heavy-duty scrub. Really amazing if you have dry, flaky skin, and the healing properties of the salt are really great if you have acne. It’ll dry it up and heal it super quick.
Cup o’ Coffee Face & Body Mask I’m on my fourth jar of this already. The coffee beans are ground up just enough to give a deep, yet gentle scrub and the caffeine in the bar really does wake up your skin and make it look brighter. Great for the morning.
Buffy It smells like a vacation, that’s really the only way to describe it. It’s an exfoliant bar and body butter mixed together, so you rub it all over while you’re still in the shower, and then rinse the sand off. After, rub the oils in and pat dry. No need for lotion after because it seals in the moisture from your shower.
SHOWER GELS / JELLIES
Rose Jam Shower Gel Smells like roses and has a really bubbly lather. More cleansing than moisturizing. I like to use it before a more moisturizing soap because it’s great for removing dirt and oil from the skin.
The Olive Branch Shower Gel A long-time favorite of mine. Great for dry skin, as it has a really creamy lather versus a bubbly one. Also, the smell is very calming and lingers for a long time.
Needles & Pines Shower Jelly It’s a solid shower gel (consistency of jello), and it smells like Christmas trees! I like to store it in the fridge and use it when it’s hot outside, super cleansing and refreshing.
SOAPS:
Roses All the Way Personal favorite! Smells like roses & vanilla ice cream. Super moisturizing and so, so creamy. Definitely buy if you suffer from dry skin.
Yog Nog Very moisturizing and the scent lingers for a really long time. Smells like snickerdoodles and eggnog.
Bohemian Not at all creamy, as it’s an exfoliating soap. It’s great to use on dark spots like knees and armpits because the exfoliants soften the skin and the lemon juice evens out your skintone. Smells like lemons.
Karma Another favorite. It has a super thin consistency but is still very moisturizing, so it’s a good shaving soap because it won’t gunk up your razor. Smells like incense and patchouli.
Figs & Leaves Smells like dirt and grass, in a good way. Super cleansing. As in your skin will literally squeak after using it, so I recommend using an in-shower moisturizer like King of Skin after using it.
OTHER:
Atomic Toothy Tabs Solid toothpaste that you crush up in your mouth. It sounds weird but these things are phenomenal. They really leave your teeth squeaky clean, and are the sole reason my teeth are so white - I don’t use any whitening products. This particular kind smells like cloves and cinnamon.
Ultrabalm All Purpose Balm This stuff is amazing. It’s an all-over balm for rough spots. I use it in the winter time on my hands and lips, because they get dry. I also use it year round on my face where I get dry spots, as it doesn’t clog pores.
Silky Underwear Dusting Powder Another holy grail. If you could turn cocoa butter into a powder, this would be it. It’s not drying like baby powder, it’s more silky (it’s also talc-free). I use it between my legs to prevent chafing and under my boobs when it’s hot outside to prevent sweating.
This is actually so helpful because a lot of times I go into lush and I just end up getting pink things and things that smell good because I don’t know what other products are worth purchasing!
Hogwarts Acceptance Letter.
Rick Riordan and Diversity
People complain about Rick Riordan “beating a dead horse” but HE CAN BEAT ALL THE DEAD HORSES HE LIKES.
Rick Riordan has actively added diverse characters in all of his books to represent more kids. Characters in his books include:
a Arab-American Valkyrie (Magnus Chase)
a mute elf who uses sign language (Magnus Chase)
a Hispanic son of Hephaestus (Heroes of Olympus)
a half-Cherokee daughter of Aphrodite (Heroes of Olympus)
a Chinese son of Mars (Heroes of Olympus)
a bisexual God/Teen (Trials of Apollo)
a happy and loving gay couple, Nico and Will (Trials of Apollo)
a male dwarf that loves fashion and design (Magnus Chase)
a black daughter of Hades (Heroes of Olympus)
a genderfluid, transgender warrior of Odin (Magnus Chase)
and that’s just off the top of my head!
When Rick Riordan first revealed Nico, a son of Hades in his best-selling Heroes of Olympus series, as gay people asked him “why?” and he said because he wanted kids to see themselves in his books and that all kids need to be able to see themselves in literature and find reassurance that they’re fine just the way they are.
So unlike some people who beat dead horses and don’t even try to be diverse (*cough*JKROWLING*cough*) at least Riordan is constantly adding more and more young heroes and heroines that are diverse, well-rounded, and important.
THAT’S GREAT AND I WILL BUY EVERY SINGLE ONE OF HIS DEAD HORSE BEATING NOVELS FIGHT ME
ALSO, Rick Riordan is heading up his own imprint now of more mythology books for kids, and he’s not writing the books himself, but finding diverse authors to write books about the mythology of their own cultures. Apparently he was getting tons of letters all, “Do Indian mythology next! Do something about Polynesian myths!” or whatever, and he was like, “Those aren’t my stories to tell, but let me find people who CAN write those books for you, and make those books exist,” and that is fucking awesome in every way, you go Rick Riordan, 4 for you, Rick Riordan.
WHAT A GREAT MAN I AM SO EXCITED HOLY BANANAS
Oh I forgot to add that the (ever forgotten) Egyptian Series had two biracial main characters and a relationship that could arguably be classified as healthy polyamory.
if I remember correctly, the ENTIRE REASON he originally wrote the demigods in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series to have ADHD and dyslexia was to give his son (who is also ADHD and dyslexic) a hero like him.

Rick Riordan is cool beans. He matched @rosariumpublishing‘s fundraiser campaign up to $10,000, because he believes in supporting POC’s work :D
