This has been expressed before, but it drives me BANANAS how Fitz acts like Amber is an unobtainable lost love. Like she’s the one who got away, the one he could never have and seems to want more than anything. She’s the one who jilted him and betrayed him (by… hiding how she feels from him), and he’s so jealous that he can’t be with her now because he’s already married someone else. Yet she’s the one facet of Beloveds who adores him openly and has declared how she feels to others. She’s the one standing there before him with her heart on her sleeve. She’s the one who will be up front with him and love him as a shut-in, an assassin, a witted bastard, a widower. All the facets of himself that bring him pain. I love that when Krycek is introduced as a character, we’re supposed to feel kind of bad for him, like ‘oh no Mulder is being mean to him,’ and then we spend the next several seasons pointing and laughing at him as he goes through the most looney tunes ass trials and tribulations (self-inflicted)
krycek and mulder's over-the-top hatred for each other is so fucking funny dude. their bitchy little slap-spats kill me, they both turn into shitty 12 year olds regardless of setting XD it's an underappreciated aspect of the series i love that there's a recurring villain who just looks like a cunty 90s turtleneck whiteman pulling smarmy faces and his presence makes Mulder instantly insane
