cant believe people tried to convince me that kirk is a misogynistic womanizer macho man. my boy just wants to go on adventures and pick flowers. hes a stack of books with legs. he likes long walks on the beach. he apologises every time he snaps at someone when hes stressed. he teaches charlie not to hit women and to leave them alone when they're not interested.
this is your macho man? this man? look at him. i dont fucking think so
I ❤️ pictures of girls who look like they’re ab to risk it all when Florence Welch touches their face
god I see what you have done for others…
It always upsets me so much when I see interpretations/illustrations of the two headed calf poem that show a living calf being torn away from its mother and killed to sell to a museum and framing the poem as being "humanity kills beautiful things for being different".
Two headed cows almost never survive more than a few hours after their birth. The farmer finds the *body* the next day. The calf was destined to die, and that's a tragedy, but for the time it was alive, it had a beautiful and unique experience.
It's not a poem about the cruelty of man. It's a poem about the beauty of life in an indifferent universe. It's about purpose and beauty being able to exist even in an existence doomed to come to an end, as all our lives are. It's not a poem about how a calf dies, but how, even for only a brief moment, it was alive.
And, for that moment, because of that life, however fleeting, the sky had twice as many stars.
Femme lesbians on TV need more aesthetic diversity. If they’re out and don’t have stylistically conservative jobs, there’s no need for them to dress like conventional TV Hot Girls, and frankly I think it interferes with verisimilitude and authenticity. Where’s the camp, the playfulness, the stompy boots and experimental hair, the subculture influences, the “take what you like and leave the rest” attitude to performative femininity, the attempts to stuff as many “fashion trends men HATE” as possible into one outfit, the candy-colored cartoon character vibes? Where are the fat femmes of any description?
i think that my favourite thing to happen in art history is when a guy made a Lucifer statue that was too hot for church so they commissioned his brother who made an even hotter one

the reduction of “mental illness” to just moderate anxiety and depression really fucking pisses me off. any discussion at a workplace, school, university, doctors office, on the radio, on TV, in the news on “mental illness” is always just a discussion on anxiety and depression. all the awareness on social media for “mental illness” is always just for anxiety and depression.
I’d like to think this is because they are the most common forms of mental illness (though it has to be said anxiety and depression in themselves are umbrella terms, there are lots of different anxiety and depressive disorders), but I’ve got to say I’m noticing a theme in symptoms of mental illness that people can tolerate. even the more severe symptoms of anxiety and depression are simply not discussed, our own fault or are just excuses of some kind.
schizophrenics, bipolars, borderlines, people w/ DID etc. for some reason are in a seperate category than depressives and anxiety sufferers. there’s mental health issues and then there’s us crazy people. they dehumanise us and turn us into serial killers, bad parents, abusive husbands, cheaters and manipulators in their books and TV shows. if they can’t make our symptoms look romantic and easily fixed, they don’t want anything to do with us. we’re only useful for a good plot point, and in real life no one wants to talk about us. we’re here too, and there’s nothing to be gained by leaving us out of the discussion
How is that even possible they can arrest her? Yeah not wearing hijab is illegal for women in Iran but she wasn’t even in Iran so she wasn’t breaking the law. WTF
Reminds me of that girl who was a part of the Iran’s National chess team but was banned from representing her country after playing against an opponent without hijab. So she left for USA and started playing for the US team instead.
Bodily autonomy for all women
I love when people are like “I can’t believe you reblogged that despite their user name, icon, bio, and last twenty posts” bc to me my dash is the only part of this website and I’m not slowing down to look at urls you could all be the same person
pro tip to anyone who acts like this - get Shingami eyes. Let's you know who's shitty without having to leave your dash. For instance I was able to figure out at a moment's glance that OP is a transphobe, so it definitely checks out that they'd have a vested in not having people do this sort of research
the trans woman who created the shinigami eyes extension is an alleged rapist, as told by five of his victims

found this with a moments google search :) :)
since youre soooo concerned with ideological purity to the point you need a browser extension to inform your opinions, then obviously youll want to know who that extension came from. because youre such a moral pillar of free thought. and you have a VESTED interest in ideological purity and correctness. right? :)
