making a good modern live action star trek show is not that hard, I think. and the producers and people in charge of reading demographics to make a show are completely misreading what made star trek good in previous series (tos, tng, ds9, voyager)

snw has been the closest hit so far. they are ALMOST getting what makes star trek special. two series more maybe and they'll figure it out.

watching strange new worlds and I just have some thoughts

its good but also the aesthetic is so modern its hard for my mind to place it before TOS, they could have gone with some retro futurism kinda vibe? maybe make the hair and makeup choices more 60s? some of the tech a bit clunkier? also some of the cast looks modern in the sense of... botox face lift rhinoplasty dubai chocolate labubu type of modern which! also takes me out!

otherwise yeah i like the story and i like this spock:)
