many people in the descendants fandom really couldn’t handle the fact that the typical hot white bad boy of the story was in love black girl. so when it came to fanfiction you guys always wrote him with a white reader, or a white oc. i’ve always noticed this, since the beginning when his character was introduced. i just didn’t say anything. i can see right through yall.

Fandoms (especially fandoms practically ran by white women) are so used to attractive white men being paired up with white women, to the point to were the thought of a hot white dude being head over heels for a very equally attractive Black woman is so damn inconceivable.

Anyways y'all can squirm and whine all y'all want, Harry Hook is in love with a Black girl. And that’s on that. Stop viewing Black women as anomalies and like we can only ever really be with or into Black men (or other Black folks in general). Start unpacking all those expectations and prejudices y'all have against us dating outside our race especially when it comes to us being interested in a white dude.

We can fall in love as well and we can also be interested in other people past being friends. But y'all would rather dehumanize us by convincing us that we don’t need anyone else, that we’re strong all on our lonesome, or some other anti-Black bs that denies us the right to having relationships.

Like deadass y'all will literally see one of the most non toxic and actually WELL written interracial relationships between a Black woman and white man (that DISNEY has ownership of no less) and say “But what about my white oc?” Cry about it.
