great lines to use for picking up men at clubs
Sometimes I think about lesbian icon renée vivien lauging so hard she had to leave a lecture bc the man was talking about how a book of anonymously published love poetry was the pinnacle depiction of a young man’s desire towards women…… but it was her book. She wrote it. About her girlfriend.
She’s the one on the left.
She IS and I’m obsessed with this image but how could you leave out that the one on the right is the girlfriend in question
I figured it was obvious from the gaze
Hi everyone! For those of you who don't follow me, my name is Shay and I'm a mentally ill disabled multiracial nonbinary lesbian. I'm on five different medications (four of them psychiatric) that I was already having trouble paying for before the pandemic started in addition to my doctor's visits (my psychiatrist will not refill my meds if I don't see him first). I have now lost my job as well as the insurance my job provided me. I have no other sources of income and I'm terrified about what will happen if I can't get my meds in the coming months. My mental health is declining and is manifesting in physical health problems that are making my life hell.
To make matters worse, some of the meds I'm on have terrible withdrawal. The last time I had to go cold turkey on the main one, I thought I was going to have a seizure and I couldn't drive.
Here are the psychiatric meds I'm on: venlafaxine, buspar, lamotrogine (mood stabilizers), and clonazepam for my panic attacks.
I wouldn't be asking if I wasn't in it bad. My last post died off, but I did get a couple of donations from very lovely people who helped me through the past refill, but my situation has gotten worse since then.
Please help or spread, if you can. I can't offer much in return right now, but if any college students need help writing papers, I'm pretty good at that! (If you're in high school, please don't give me money!)
My ca$happ is: $ShayShayDragon
My venmo is: @Shay-Dragon
I have paypal as well, but it has my deadname on it, so I'm a little paranoid about giving it out. But if you want that, feel free to message me! 💟
Thank you in advance!

"This country was founded by a group of slave owners who told us that all men are created equal. To my mind, that is what's known as being stunningly and embarrassingly full of shit." - George Carlin
...PolitiFact going through history to fact check this guy was like that time CNN went through history to dig up dirt on Bernie, and all they found were videos of him planting trees, and telling kids that racism is bad.
I mean, I don’t think Politifact was “trying to prove him wrong” or anything. This is what Politifact does - they take claims posted (from all sides) on social media and dig up the evidence for or against them. Arlen even says that he welcomes this, because he knows the evidence is there and that looking at evidence is a good thing, actually.
Tumblr (and Twitter, and all of social media) has a terrible tendency to conflate “asking for evidence and sources” with “purposely refusing to believe obvious facts.” This is not how things work. This is not how anything should work. The fact that this guy got fact checked is a good thing and now there’s a really strong article on Politifact along with a spreadsheet of their evidence (which is actually stronger than what’s used in the tweet, which often relies on wikipedia) so that if anyone tries to claim this guy was making shit up, there is a super-solid paper trail backing him up.
Fact-checking is not “digging up dirt.” It’s important, especially in these days of Russian bots who will pretend to be on your side just so they can slip you some misinformation to rile you up.
and yes, people at the time were also aware of the incongruity notably, Abigail Adams and Englishman Thomas Day, who said in 1776, "If there be an object truly ridiculous in nature, it is an American patriot, signing resolutions of independency with the one hand, and with the other brandishing a whip over his affrighted slaves." (but he definitely falls under my "don't stan historical figures" rule because he adopted young girls and tried to train them to be candidates for his perfect wife)

April 24, 1915. Never forget.
this is really important, as someone who is part Armenian I think this deserves so much more attention than it gets, especially since Turkey continues to deny this and try to erase it. I’ve flown out to visit the Armenian Genocide Museum in Yerevan, Armenia, and the photographs and testimonies were truly devastating. Please reblog this to spread awareness.

Did I watch this several times?
Yes.
Did I giggle every time?
Also yes.
It's what Austen would have wanted.
