Wednesday the 15th. What an excellent day. Middle of the week, middle of the month. Truly, we are in the middle of things.
unfortunately, wednesday june 15th (the truest middle) will not happen until 2033 :(

guys my dad is so excited because we just got real actual jehovah’s witnesses knocking on our door
we are jewish. we have no interest in being jehovah’s witnesses. but we live in new england where religious people knocking on your door isn’t as much of a thing so the novelty is getting to him
being a camp counselor has made me realize how much wisdom my dad has raised me with. truly so many of the lines he gave me when I was little have stayed with me for years and now I'm using them with my campers

Stop treating my gastroparesis symptoms like I’m anorexic.
I know the "disabled villain" trope isn't good representation but y'know. I DO kind of get it. Sometimes my whole body hurts so bad that I could probably make an evil death laser. Sometimes things claim to be wheelchair accessible and are so incredibly inaccessible that I consider world domination just to fuckin fix it. I can see the appeal of becoming Evil And Scary to stop the stares. I am tired of being Polite and (ironically) Accommodating, answering "what's wrong with you?" over and over. Having minions would also be quite helpful.
@joy-and-whimsy-official I just saw a guy sprint across the patio outside my local library to kiss his girlfriend and that’s truly the sweetest thing I’ve seen all week. they looked so happy to see each other and I love it
embarrassing shit I did today
drove to THE WRONG HOSPITAL trying to get to a rheumatology checkup and had to drive 20 minutes back where I came from (on i95. in the rain)
also on i95, on the drive to therapy, another car kicked up a puddle and I flinched like I was about to be covered in water. I was in my car. the water landed on the windshield
I saw a youtube short that said gummy bears and marshmallows are the same thing, but marshmallows have more air, which means you can make marshmallows by melting and then whipping gummy bears. so ofc I tried it. and my dad says the only difference between science and fucking around is writing it down so here goes:
melting the gummy bears was actually surprisingly easy. pretty similar to melting chocolate. just put the stove at a simmer and keep the stuff inside the pot constantly moving. so it only took about five minutes
whipping the melted gummy bears...was chaos. that part only took like 10 minutes but I definitely should have gone longer. I decided to use a handheld electric whisk instead of the stand mixer, which required a lot more grip strength than I can keep up for long
and at the end of it...I had something much closer to the consistency of chewing gum than marshmallows. but hey, it was fun. so if you're looking to have 15 minutes of fun by only spending $4...maybe try this? and lmk the results lol
