I kinda want to do more paintings with the transparent/invisible subject thing, but I'm kind of dry on ideas that would be fun to work with. I had this thought of maybe painting like a brick/stone wall or some sort of a stone pile with a creepy ghost hand reaching out and clawing at the rocks, but that didn't really grab my brain from any direction.
I need to think up more scenes and subjects where the whole idea is that the thing being depicted is intangible, unseen, or so loudly absent that it's visible in outline.
Let's have a poll: What do I make?
Visible vase with invisible flowers in it
A horse with an invisible rider
Ghost hand reaching from rock pile
Ghost hand grabbing a person
Ghost dog sitting on a doorstep, still on guard
Fat lady wearing a very Tumblr-guideline-friendly implied subtle hint of a dress
Another secret horse, this time in a place where no horses are allowed
Suggest me something
@knitting-doe I loved your suggestion so much I had to make it.
This shall be titled "Am I high or are we all just fucking ignoring that thing", and I was so excited to try this out that I just shamelessly yoinked someone's entire goddamn living room. I originally meant to just use it as a reference, then ended up heavily referenced, and frankly the final outcome is just a paint-over. Source link in image.
