Marius Titus is staring back as he tenses up as fast as the talking triangle opens his mouth about bribes of some kind. Marius would have his hands on his gladius... if he had it. "You must be either brave or extremely foolish." He steps forward with the bearing of a man used to command, his voice low and controlled—dangerous in its calm. "The legions didn't win wars through bribes. Nor will you win favor with empty coin and louder noise. If you want respect…" —his gaze lingers, hard and unmoving— "Earn it. With action. With honor. Or gods help you, with silence."

A pause.

Then, dryly—"…Though if you're buying drinks instead of livestock, you may yet live through the day."

It's certainly not the sort of reaction he was expecting - honestly, he might as well have asked a time officer at this rate - but it's one he can switch gears to accommodate. They're definitely pulling from all sorts of time periods, if this is one of the chumps they hauled here. That's fine, though - if anything, it's all the easier to play the all knowing deity part if he happens to be from the future. Even if it might take some extra manipulation, if he has to win loyalty over some other religious entity.

Trying to play pretend as someone who did care about silly things like honor and good deeds was one of his least favorite masks to wear, but one he's willing to pull out of retirement. The stakes aren't high, here - this isn't the type of person he'd manipulate into portal construction ( even if there's really only one person he has in mind for that at the moment ), but everyone could use a bit of brute strength. Some authority to hopefully reinforce your rule. Besides, if he can squeeze any good public attention out of this, it'd be a success.

The locals in Sunsets End haven't taken very kindly to him. Apparently the classy business man look is lost on them - something about thinking he'll buy up the land or steal whatever livestock they've got. Honestly, why they think he'd bother with any of that is something only someone as small minded as a human could grasp. He has bigger things planned! Bigger things that all this initial distrust really isn't helping with! So, maybe it's about time he tries to artificially inflate his own reputation. Just a little bit.

If anyone else saw a man in the middle of the desert, alone, staring at a pack of " horses ", they might give him a wide berth - both out of not wanting to disturb the creatures and the spectator. Bill, however, is nothing if not incredibly annoying and nosy. So of course, his first order of business is sneaking up right besides the other and loudly announcing his presence.

"TAKING AN INTEREST IN THE LOCAL WILDLIFE, HUH? THOSE ARE GOOD ONES TO START WITH - THEY'RE TOTAL FREAKS! SEE THE ROWS OF TEETH ON THAT ONE IN THE BACK? WONDER WHAT IT HUNTS WITH THOSE BAD BOYS."

He leans forwards on his cane, staring out into the landscape rather than giving attention to the robed individual who he's just disturbed.

IT WASN’T OFTEN THAT THE SPINE took public transportation. Walter Robotics usually lined up something private when the automatons needed to go anywhere , and any other time they weren’t permitted to leave the Manor unsupervised. He found it interesting , but he also had to hunch over just a little awkwardly in order to fit into the car.

THERE WAS ONE MAJOR UPSIDE , and that was the empty car that he was able to secure for himself. Not only did that save him from prying eyes or having to fold in on himself just to make sure his fellow travelers were comfortable , but he also got the window seat. Score. The thrumming of his own motor harmonized quietly with that of the train , photo receptors taking in every bit of scenery they pass by.

IF HE HAD ASKED NICELY , THE SPINE probably would’ve moved. However , he doesn’t take too kindly to demands , and he’s just as stubborn as he is polite. So , instead of moving , a hand reaches up to pull his hat over his eyes.

❛ SORRY , PAL. ❜ He says , purposefully lowering his voice to make himself sound just slightly intimidating. Even with the hat angled over his eyes , he can still see who’s trying to give his seat up - and he pulls the hat even further down to mask his surprise. ❛ I’m afraid this seat’s taken. ❜

He isn't at all oblivious to the way he shifts his hat, casting a shadow over the upper portion his face - it's not exactly a subtle motion. It is, however, a hilarious one! He was pretty sure you only got that sort of thing out of movies, not actual people giving it a shot! His clear threat is met with a loud laugh.

"IS THAT SUPPOSED TO BE SCARY? YOU'RE REALLY GONNA HIT ME WITH THE SHADOW OVER THE EYES THING? I COULD SEE YOU DO THAT, YOU KNOW, AND IT REALLY ISN'T WORKING HOW YOU THOUGHT IT WOULD. IF ANYTHING I THINK YOU JUST TOOK ALL THE WIND RIGHT OUT FROM YOUR INTIMIDATION TACTIC."

As if to prove this point, he pulls himself up onto the chair itself now rather than waiting in the isle, and sits uncomfortably close. His side is practically touching the others leg. A mix of pressure, discomfort, and annoyance will probably make this spot more than it's worth to him, and he's very clearly not intent on taking him serious enough to back off now.

The coldest winters resided in Kyoto, Tsurugiji quickly adapted to his surroundings and prepared solely for making trips to & from his latest home. With his immensely tall stature and the humanity clinging to his vile flesh, he thought it'd be an interesting day to indulge his cravings and curiosities. Sure, he's in an unfamiliar world reeking with the supernatural and the paranormal—it doesn't mean he has to limit his options to the safest routes.

His arrogance is how he landed in - of all places - Sunset's End. Powerful winds twisting and turning at every second, glistening specks of sand digging into his rough skin. He trudged through the area, breathing in the scattered powder with flared nostrils.

And...

... What the hell is that?

"Curses," he spits upon witnessing a top-hatted golden triangle trying to fight against the winds. It's a pathetic sight, really. If he were his husband, he'd dote upon the poor thing and help him out. Unfortunately, this is Tsurugiji Takanaru we're talking about, and he lacks the tact needed to waltz in and aid the damned triangle.

He struts forward, reaching a mighty hand towards Bill and commandeers.

"What is this folly, surely you aren't risking your life for no reason. ... Are you? Pray tell, do you need my company? Any help at all? Or, do you wish to flap around like paper?"

It's practically salt in the wound, how easily the other strolls up while he's struggling not to get flung away. He doesn't need to be doted on by any means - the thought of that from anyone aside from maybe one human in specific is enough to make him gag - but maybe he could use an easyish out. He briefly glares at the man and the outstretched hand, but ends up taking it; perhaps with a bit more claws than is necessary. He better not ask anything from him after all this.

"I'M NOT RISKING ANYTHING - I KNEW WHAT I WAS DOING. UNTIL YOU CAME ALONG ANYWAYS. GEEZ. BUT SURE, IT'S THE LEAST YOU CAN DO FOR INTERRUPTING ME."

What was he doing? Well, that's none of his business - and completely made up - so he doesn't elaborate. He had been running an errand or two, since that was a thing he had to do now, convinced the wind wouldn't stop him until it did. To make extra sure it wouldn't get him back, he goes the extra mile of properly climbing up the humans arm and perching on his shoulder, firmly sat in place to avoid getting picked up by the wind again.

"WHAT ABOUT YOU, HUH? CAN'T SAY MUCH ABOUT ME IF YOU'RE OUT HERE TOO. GLASS HOUSES AND ALL THAT."

This things been staring at the water, completely terrified for a good fifteen minutes at least - like it'll bite him or something. Which, considering the fact he's been lurking a fair distance away for majority of those minutes, actually isn't an unfounded fear. While it's fun and all to watch, doing just that is getting a little.. boring. At least this new form provides him with something to spice things up a little, for all of its flaws. Of which it has many, but he's trying to distract from that for the moment.

Swimming closer as quietly as he can, his voice rings out - it sounds the same, but different; sickly sweet to the ears, reverberating through the senses. A mantra that seems to say come closer.

"WELL WELL WELL - I CAN HEAR YOU SHAKING IN YOUR PLATING FROM MILES AWAY, KID! WHAT'RE YOU SCARED OF? THE WATERS JUST FINE. YOU SHOULD COME IN AND TRY IT OUT YOURSELF."
