Check what you sent over and over to make sure you didnβt say a slur instead of βhello how are youβ
Fear that someone will find you thinking not-leftist-enough thoughts and will call you out and ruin you
Feel you have to make your intentions clear and over-explain your actions
Find yourself consistently resisting the urge to engage in reassurance-seeking WRT being a good enough ally to marginalized people
Stay up late endlessly debating political ethics in your head
Have a set of actions that you take after discovering you made a morally wrong decision so that you can atone, which you rely on for reassurance that you are not a bad person
Would rather not make a decision at all than make a decision that is the lesser of two evils, but is not morally pure
then I am gently, but firmly, requesting that you look into moral scrupulosity OCD.
since the "clean" in cleanqueer comes from being clean of addictions (and not for being clean vs dirty as some think) i want to make a shotout to all the people with chatbot addictions who are trying to get better!
remember: it's not your entirely fault if you had a c.ai addiction (or similar apps of chatbots), these apps are often built to give you instant dopamine and you're not the only one (im myself a former c.ai adict, i used it way too much on 2023 and 2024 until i noticed how harmful it was for my habits and social life)
each time you read a y/n x character fanfic, each time you draw yourself with your f/o, each time you WRITE by yourself, each time you do something that doesn't involve ai, you're growing stronger and more creative than the souless corporations behind the ai chatbots, and you're claiming a bit of your attention and intentions back from the time they took from you
In my personal opinion, blocklists usually are a bit pro-harrassment sometimes
so there are a few alternatives if seeking for one makes you uncomfortable bc you don't want to add to something that might encourage harrassing others:
- go to tumblr options and make It so only people you follow or people that follows can answer your posts and send you asks
- mute tags, all of Them, every single one of Them, even ones who might be typos just in case (don't only mute proship and radqueer, mute prship and raduqeer too, for example)
- at the sight of screenshots calling out someone, block the person being called out on the capture by going to your tumblr options and typing the username (by doing this you also avoid having to see their profile directly and be less likely to get triggered by sensitive content and you will feel less urge to reply or engage in arguments with them)
- If any radqueer/xenosatanist/darkship/terf user somehow filters even with those protections, block Them and DON'T REPLY YO THEM, its almost sure they will not change their mind after an argument on the comments of a post, your security comes first before trying to lecture anyone no Matter what
- this Is not Twitter, you are not "lesser" than anyone for blocking and muting users and using Tumblr's tools for privacy and security , even If one person posts something to "flex" how you blocked Them? That says much More about Them than you bc why would they see being such an annoyance to others to the point they block em?? Thats their problem, not yours, block Them guilt free
If anyone needs a More detailed tutorial on how to do any of these please comment and ill try to do It, i know these options are often a bit tricky because there hidden behind Some other options, tumblr might be a bit hard to understand bc not everyone is perfect and all knowing on technology and social media and thats okay.

That would be true if society reacted normally to childless single people or anyone else that doesnβt fulfill their expectations of a stereotypical relationship. The way things are now, the drama just comes from a different angle. Amatonormativity is a prison.
Such a good read! I havenβt found many books where main characters were ace or aro, let alone aroace! I loved that the story was from both Jo and Sophieβs point of view and we got to see different experiences with identity in being aroace and intersections with being a person of color, a child of immigrants, different family dynamics, etc. As someone on the ace spectrum, it can feel lonely and isolating at times. To read a book where the main characters are aroace, and that focuses on different types of love, centering platonic love, was so comforting. In a world so focused on sex and romance, I loved reading a book that showcases the experiences and importance of other types of love that are equally important. The story line of the Dear Wendy and Wanda accounts was really interesting as well! I donβt think Iβve read a book like this before - and will definitely be seeking out more aro and ace -spec centered stories!!
