oh yeah one of the other russian dudes I know has an unusually large collection of communist board games (about the revolutions obviously) and a whole binder of stamps from his father. not normal stamps obviously, but communist stamps. he even has a few rare ukrainian hitler stamps in there.

his entire fridge is decked out with old magnets about communism and their family friends (also russian) somehow have a multiple fridge magnets of putin’s head. yup. someone made a fridge magnet of putin’s head. and someone else bought it.

probably the worst thing that's ever happened to me was when this one time i was wearing my shirt that says "I HATE PAGANS" in giant block letters that i wear to the ren faire so that gay people don't try to involve me in their roleplays or whatever and i somehow thru a series of events that i will omit bc it's boring & i don't understand it encountered some kind of temporal rift and ended up in a roman forum in like the 390s or something. and immediately these guys in armor are pointing at my shirt & getting very excited bc obviously paganism had just been outlawed in rome, and i'm trying to be like "no no you don't understand" but they don't speak english & i don't speak latin so i'm just gesturing frantically at the shirt and then at myself and doing like a thumbs up motion which i later learned is not a good gesture to make in ancient rome. they're getting increasingly animated and i'm trying to pantomime like "different kind of pagans, future pagans, neopagans" by pointing at the ground (to indicate here/now pagans) and then making a big X with my arms and then pointing at the sky (to indicate future/different pagans) but this apparently makes them think i am doing a bit about how the old gods are pathetic, and they're really into this like slapping their thighs and stuff. anyway they take me to this official-looking building & there's this older guy there who seems important & has better robes than everyone else and through a series of elaborate hand gestures and latin & ingvaeonic cognates i manage to express to him that i am jewish, and in my time there are these different people called also pagans who “stelen” from my “tribe,” and then i see him start to nod and he says something to the guards & i'm like oh good we've achieved understanding and i'm feeling pretty good about this intercultural exchange we're having & then i got stoned. like with rocks.

life hack for introverted nerds who want to improve social skills:

1. get really interested in something that there are tour guides for, (e.g pyramids, the sistine chapel, pompeii…) preferably something site specific

2. research topic until you feel like an expert (tip: you can find academic papers by searching filetype:pdf site:edu)

3. book a private tour

4. your tour guide will most likely also be an introverted nerd, but due to years of dealing with people they would probably have good social skills!

5. you should be able to maintain a conversation with them due to your excessive research (your cover will be that you wanted to see the thing in person)

6. yayyy you win!!

now just repeat until you get good (bonus: there’s no lose situation because if you do it enough you just become an educated individual and that’s even better than talking to people)

a) write a bunch of really mundane things then find related stuff (e.g. water -> chlorine -> wwi or alternatively water -> artificial intelligence -> brain waves)

b) pick one that has relevant themes today, (e.g. chlorine -> uses in warfare vs uses in cleaning supplies / ai -> whether it renders human evolution useless) this helps you work it into normal conversations

c) watch few a general YouTube videos and write down main points. then fact check these points.

d) read some academic articles, they’re honestly what gets me into research the most. lots of them are really entertaining, and i read them when I’m procrastinating.

e) make a bunch of presentations + speeches and write a few essays on the topic OR just remember everything. something I like to do to is go onto Reddit and see what they’re saying about the topic and check if they’re actually correct about it. this is useful because it highlights a bunch of common misconceptions in the area

yay! now you’re super knowledgeable in a specific aspect that most likely no one cares about!

hopefully you get interested in smth along the way :)

#the last thing i was that interested in was mummies and human remains #tell me how am i supposed to find a tour regarding that #< your prayers have been received #i actually went to one the other day :)#I mean I went on a university tour and they just had a couple mummified remains #they told us a lot about the history of mummified remains and even had a display what would show you the different layers of the mummy #but if your local uni museum doesn’t have that I’m fairly sure you could go to any #the Egyptian government is pretty positive about ‘renting’ mummies to different countries #it helps with learning and tourism apparently #you could also go to Egypt (I was actually thinking about Egypt whilst making this post)#like I saw a guy who went to Egypt and booked a private tour and I was like wow #that’s a great hack on how to talk to people #tl;dr lots of museums (including uni museums) will have mummified human remains #study tips

I like capybaras, crocodiles, pgymys, hamsters, cats ( except my neighbour's cat, he is a rival of mine, I hate him, he stole my bread and he doesn't even ate it!!!), dogs and foxes, wolves, racoon, sharks and pigs!!!!

New Tag Game idea! I got this idea from a Pokemon one, but I wanna do it with Date Everything!

Here's how it works:

Multiply your birth month by your birth day (for example, my birthday is 2/27, so i would multiply 27 by two and get 54!)

2. If the number you get is higher than 102, divide it by 2 until you get it to 102 or lower.

3. Look up "Date Everything character number [whatever number you got] and post your results here!
