Lesbian Finnish music recs!
Recently I’ve been really digging Sonia. She has plenty of songs with a lot of lesbian yearning. Especially her softer songs, though she also does have hype bangers like Kosketa mua (Touch me). Recently she also took a more explicit take on queerness with Fokus, feat. Evelina, which is specifically about wanting women in a gay way. And of course we can’t forget when she had a moment with her cover of the biggest hit from her hometown, Muijii stadis (Chicks in Helsinki), originally by Gettomasa. (Which is not even about the women to begin with, but I respect her for singing the original text as is and not even attempting to change pronouns).
This list cannot be made without Sanni. She also has that lesbian yearning thing down, and Sinä ja se poitsu (You and the boy) is just the most recent addition. I particularly love the song Tyhmä (Stupid), because yeag that's me when I think about girls.
I'd imagine Emma & Matilda can also largely count in the lesbian yearning category of music. Olivia is iconic.
One of the explicitly lesbian songs I particularly love is Tyttöystävä (Girlfriend) by Julia Rautio. Generally this style of pop is very appealing to me, reminds me of bands like Tiktak and that era of pop.
Etta also makes it to this list. Last year she returned to a more rap heavy style with Tytöt tietää (Girls know), a song she feared may be a bit too honest and direct but was loved by her girl friends, prompting her to release it. It's a flirtier track, and one of my favourites of hers. And then there is her collab with Sara Bee, Olla ku mä (Be like me), which is a very fun and a flirty song directed at girls specifically.
In the Finnish rap scene the girls are more than occasionally making songs for other girls, so I'd also like to put Senya on this list too with Häflä. it belongs here (as does her 'dump him' shirt. She will steal your girlfriend.).
In the same vein as Etta, Senya and Sara Bee is Olga. Teenage dream is obvious, but my fave is Kuumat tytöt (Hot girls).
Then we have one that I see dubbed as one of the Finnish pride anthems, Eva (Nukutaan kielletyllä iholla) (Sleeping on forbidden skin) by Jippu. I'm including it here especially because Jippu is on the next season of Vain elämää and I love her. Wonder if this song'll get covered.
I would personally like to include Kaija Koo's Sateenkaari pimeessä (A rainbow in the dark) on this list. It is one of my favourite songs of hers. It is not distinctly romantic, but it is an incredibly soft song, and with beautiful lyrics to match.
Of course no lesbian playlist is complete without Ihmisten edessä (In front of people) by Jenni Vertiainen, as someone in the original post's notes already pointed out. It's a classic, discussing forbidden or frowned upon love affairs on the more broad interpretation. In the song the singer describes walking hand in hand with a woman in public for the first time.
Honourable mentions include Rabbit Cult. They make music mostly in English, hence I couldn't put them on the list. Anyway, Cute AF is a banger live
That is all I can come up with for now. Anyone have any songs they'd like to add?
Happy pride month! Lets all stay safe and support each other 💙
got curious because idk how well-known this is internationally so:

2-YEAR CHEDDAR
from GRAFTON VILLAGE
I usually try to review cheeses virginally - that is, ones that I’ve never had before. In this case, this is a cheddar I’ve had many times before. But I couldn’t leave it off the blog, what with its obvious appeal to leather and rubber fetishists.
As far as cheddars go, Grafton’s 2-year aged isn’t going to shock you. It’s mild, light on the salt, with a slightly sweet and grassy flavour. It’s got a nice texture. It’s dense, more moist than I expected, and smooth.
So what is the deal with the gummi suit on this cheese anyway? Well, cheese has obviously been around a lot longer than fridges. Fresh cheeses like mozzarella are too moist to last very long outside of a cold place (bacteria and fungi do so love damp places), though I don’t think anyone was too mad about eating that stuff quickly. But cheeses that have been aged (and dried) more have some more preservation options, which is where cheese wax comes in. The wax is a physical barrier, stopping fungal spores from landing, and also blocks moisture and air, making the cheese a pretty unfriendly place to grow. Even drier cheeses can be bandaged in cheesecloth and then slathered in lard to preserve them while allowing some ventilation.
I gotta admit: hot wax isn’t really my thing. But cheesecloth bondage and grease… it has potential.
this site used to be awesome
Asexuals were always part of pride and it really fucking shows when people think it's a recent term.
Although not going by the term "asexual" yet, asexuality was spoken about alongside homosexuality as far back as the 1890s. Asexual history is just as vital to queer history as any other term and I'm so tired of watching us being treated like a new thing
This image is so so fucking important to me

they're still terming random transfems as i type this i see which does make quite a statement doing this today specifically
watched three girls who reblogged its new blog mutual aidpost (made literally 15 minutes ago) already disappear from its notifs. transfems are not included in their pride :/
