I’ll never understand why anthropomorphic animal cartoons like Robin Hood and Zootopia will go to the trouble of creating character designs that are meant to be understood as “attractive” or even “sexy” to the human audience but explicitly avoid showing interspecies romances between anthropomorphic animals. Why is THAT weird but, like, trying to make rabbits recognizably sexy-coded to humans isn’t?

Sometimes, sure, but why was Maid Marian a fox in Robin Hood? There wasn’t anything particularly “foxlike” about her personality, and it would make more sense for her to be a lion. They made her a fox only because Robin was a fox and making her something else would be “weird”, but I don’t think the wolf cop or the chicken maid or the lion prince were actually meant to represent race.

The best inter species couple is Kermit and Miss Piggy as the Cratchits in A Muppet Christmas Carol, because all their sons are frogs and all their daughters are pigs, as God clearly intended.

I always thought that in muppet movies like muppet Christmas Carol the characters are played by the muppets (so kermit is acting and playing the role of Bob rather than being him) so the kids in that film would just be other acting muppets right?

URGENT: Hospital eviction imminent

Maha has been hospitalized due to serious complications from an infected tooth. She is particularly vulnerable to this type of infection, which almost killed her last year. Thankfully her husband has returned from Egypt, but both he and Maha are unable to work and thus cannot pay for her hospital bills. They are over $1,500 usd in debt for her treatment and Maha is about to be kicked out of the hospital.

As I said, last year a very similar infection almost took Maha’s life. If she is expelled from the hospital, a worsened infection is an inevitability. She still has a high fever and needs to remain hospitalized. PLEASE help her continue life-saving treatment!!

Since this blew up, I wanted to take a moment to say something very important.

This isn't just a post of what HRT can do. It is meant to show the power of choosing you. Starting your transition is a radical act of self love. A catalyst, but that alone isn't enough.

The woman you see is the product of 4 years of work. I quit drinking, I quit smoking, I went to bed earlier, changed my relationship with food, and started moving again.

None of which was easy, but I kept something in the back of my head this whole time. That if I choose myself a little bit each day. To drink the water. Eat the veggies. Go for a 5 minute walk. That it wasn't nothing. What it really was is small moments of radical self love.

Choosing to transition is such a realization of power. The power to choose what is best for you. Carry that with you every day. However much you can. Whether that is doing an hour long workout, or just going to bed 15 minutes early. Choose you radically my loves ❤️

In case anyone hasn't heard, the cyclospora outbreak affecting tons of people in the US right now is coming from Taylor Farms produce. Best to stay away from bagged lettuce and prepared salads completely right now, but especially the ones mentioned in the screenshot:

This is not the first time I've heard about a Taylor Farms foodborne illness outbreak. I stopped eating their salads after reading a description of the conditions in their facilities. Doesn't sound like they've improved anything.

We need a fully funded and staffed FDA, and regulations with teeth - and that's exactly what we don't have under Trump. To make things worse, the CDC is no longer tracking these outbreaks. We're on our own.
