Please take good care of them!
I love my frog so cute 🥰
i wish i had the post on hand but a read i really like is vampirism as disability. you cant work a regular day job, in fact you physically cannot leave your home most hours of the day, you have specific dietary restrictions that alienate you from the social act of breaking bread, you feel condemned to navigate the world at its fringes, maybe your body wont change and develop the way it does for your peers, maybe your body is changing very rapidly into something that frightens people.
its tricky territory because i feel like the trope of the vampire as parasite is very dominant in the cultural consciousness and thats obviously not a connection i wish to draw, but like, you know who else the capitalist ableist world treats as drains on Normal society? in a narrative where the vampire character(s) arent being played as villains i think theres a lot of fertile ground here.
I think it would be a genuinely fascinating angle on writing vampire characters and an amazing way to discuss abled society’s tendency to relegate disabilities to “victim”, “parasite”, “monster”, and “pariah” categories depending on what they hope to gain from it.
“good” vampires are sympathetic and tragic, even sexy. “Bad” vampires are selfish and draining (literally) and ‘take up resources at other’s expense’, as the argument goes. Both ends parallel common talking points.
Hell, inspiration porn, unrealistic goals, fetishization, demonization, alienation, othering, the living ‘warning’, victimhood, survivorship, moralization- you could discuss a LOT about disabled experiences by using Vampires as the widely-palatable allegory and I kind of very much want to read that
Fantastic and if you ever write a book on this I will absolutely read it.

Loving all of this
I feel like this is an unpopular opinion, but more people should read incomplete/unfinished/in-progress fanfics.
I've noticed this huge trend where creators on tiktok and tumblr who will be explaining how to use Archive Of Our Own to new users and they always say "and make sure to scroll down and click completed only" or how people will go out of their way to mention they only read completed fics 'because they were traumatized when they forgot to check the dates and didn't realize this fic hadn't been updated since 2012'.
The thing is - I think by not engaging with and/or actively avoiding writer's WIPs readers are potentially adding to the aggregate of abandoned works. Now this obviously isn't the case for all abandoned fics, anything from major life events, to loss of interest, to getting busy can be a reason for a fic getting abandoned - but at least on some level I just know that writers are quitting while they're ahead when they aren't garnering any response or feedback because reading WIPs has become unpopular. If you're worried about reading something that hasn't been updated since 2012 then you can use the date updated function to sort out old fics.
Anyways, support your favorite fanfic writers by engaging with their WIPs.
Legit, getting a subscription on a fic I'd abandoned 10 years earlier spurred me into action to finish it (and write a sequel!)
#The journey of reading a fic while it's updating is part of the fun!
Yes exactly this! I love subscribing to fics forgetting about them a bit and then being pleasantly surprised when they update again and they show up in my inbox. It makes me feel like I'm a Charles Dickens fan living in 1830s London waiting patiently for his new chapter to be released via the daily paper.
Yes to all of this some of the best fics I have ever read are unfinished. I still come back and read my favorites. I like to think one day the writer might come back and see that even years later their work is loved. Comments really help. A good critique or just an expression of enjoyment of the fic can be inspiring and helpful.
A rare picture of Penelope talking to Lady whistledown
I really need a fic for this
So lately I have been rewatching some shows from my childhood as I wait for Bridgerton season 3 part 2. One of the shows was Life with Derek and my Lord. I'm sorry but there is no way to convince Derek and Casey are not in love with each other. I mean you literally hear Casey at one point call Derek the bane of her existence but the way they exist with one another is on another level. They give me Kate and Anthony vibes like crazy.

Hey I was thinking about how much I feel like I never really do anything new. Then when just sitting and spacing out I came to the realization that anything new never happens because whenever a opportunity presents itself that I immediately go nope no thank you and get the hell away from it. Which is weird but also valid for me because nine times out of 10 the opportunity was a fucking trap. So yeah I heavily sabbatoge myself.
I was going to rewatch 1931 Dracula again tonight and just as I turned it on a BAT started flying around at my window and wouldn’t go away and I’ve never seen a bat at my house before and let me tell you I’ve been so gay touched starved this quarantine I was about ready to risk letting a wild bat in my room if it meant it could possibly be one tall, Sexy vampire
Ah rabies
But what if the bat was from my secret gay vampire admirer

Possible theory for Tomura Shigaraki and AFO
*Spoiler Warning* please don't read if you haven't caught up in manga or anime
Okay I haven't seen anyone really talk about this if I am wrong then I apologize but this is just me thinking after reading on how Tomura or his true name Tenko shimura lost his family and what he went through after and finally his meeting with AFO.
I can't think for one second that Tomura's origins were at all a coincidence. We find out that Tomura is actually the grandson of Nana Shimura. We know her as All Mights mentor and former user of one for all. There is no way that AFO didn't know this and just happened to find him and then groom him into the villan he is today. I mean he loved rubbing this fact in All Mights face. I believe he caused Tenko's family to die just so he could weaponize his relation to Nana to hurt All Might.
Now we see that Tenko is technically the one who did kill them by using his quirk decay on his family. It seems he believes he lost control and did it. That is where the theory that has been stuck in my head comes in.
AFO has multiple quirks and one of them is being able to force someone's quirk to activate. I believe we saw this during the rescue of Katsuki from the L.O.V . (Correct me if I'm wrong please) I think he was there that night when Tenko's family died out of sight and I believed he used the forceful quirk activation on Tenko thus causing his family's death. Then he went on to keep an eye on Tenko allowing the boy to suffer and when he decided the boys will was broken enough then showed himself to Tenko knowing that this child would be so desperate for help that he wouldn't even notice AFO's manipulation and even if he did wouldn't do anything about it as this man had now established himself as Tenko's savior. I'm sure I'm not the only one who may think this but I have yet to be able to find anything on this. It is all speculation but it just really seems to fit with AFO as a character for me.

Are straight white people okay????
What is this?!
People like this exist. Interesting.
this story has a part 2
THERE IS A PART 3 WITH GUEST RESPONSES I REPEAT THERE IS A PART 3 THIS IS NOT A DRILL
I thought things couldn’t get more horrifyingly amusing than the woman who wanted people to pay $1000 each to go to her wedding so she could “feel like a Kardashian for a day” and had a Facebook breakdown about it saying she was gonna go backpacking in Peru to “find herself” after being “betrayed” by her friends who didn’t want to partake but here we are
I thought it was the same person ngl.
I’m in the wedding shaming group and saw both this and the Peru post before it went viral. Love it.
THERE’S AN UPDATE
Stephanie is a true hero.
my favorite thing about this update is that the fact that we are even SEEING this means there’s AT LEAST one other snitch in the party that she hasn’t caught yet
Love how she has all the people she considers overweight dressed in black and camouflage to represent the aura of the devil we must shoo away. Like bitch really?
