Saw your post about tomodachi life and I needed to ask boss- I want to stream the game for my friends on discord when it comes out but there are so many options out there!

I don’t want to pick a bad one or one that doesn’t work for my laptop (HP Omen 16) What is your humble advice? I know the answer might be expensive but a real answer from experience is better than none.

That is correct! Sorry if I was super vauge it’s been forever and a day since I’ve sent anyone a ask on tumblr. I’ve been told capture cards are the way to go but no idea which one would be worth getting or if there are other alternatives

I've never streamed before, but luckily for you I'm in a dnd group with the king dork supreme. he helped me and my bro pick out the most primo hookups for our new gaming laptop/pcs a few years ago, he knows his shit

He says that the Elgato capture cards are the best he's ever worked with, but they can be pricey depending on what you're looking for, tho this one is on sale (still a pretty penny)

I did a little looking around with him online just now and found this baby that seems pretty decent for beginners and you can't sniff at that price

If you have any other specific ass questions about that let me know!

I went ahead and got the Elgato that you recommended and it works like a charm! I stress tested it playing a monster hunter rise master hunt + two followers while streaming it on discord and didn't get much to no lag at all!! It was incredibly beginner friendly and I had little to no issue setting the cords up. I will say it felt very clunky at first when opening it up on defaults but when I turned EDID on and played around with the different presets I landed on this one! Smooth as butter. Wanted to wait to reply to this with the results and thank you so so much! I can't wait to stream tomodachi life to my friends :D
