Power cable linking UK and Ireland now passes near Bronze Age human burial remains instead of fictional grave on Welsh beach
Link because I couldn't believe it. Shout out to this insanity and also that people refuse to stop messing with an ecologically sensitive site.
I literally love all of you, but as a Tumblr veteran, Tumblr's main feature is the reblog feature. It is the beating heart of the dashboard and the foundation for a chronological timeline. The For You page here should not be your default setting.
You guys have got to start reblogging stuff you enjoy, especially, specifically gifs and fan art but also fics and fan theories or even hot takes if you're not afraid of a lil discourse. I'm tired of being the first or third reblog for a person's post and then seeing my blog's followers do nothing but hit like, while blogs sit there with no new posts in months or years!
Reblog more stuff please. Thank you, have a good day.
You're not even going to reblog this post are you
Never having used ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot and such, I can't say I'd notice their loss.
Without being the slightest bit sarcastic, I miss library card catalogues and writing in cursive as the norm. And yes, I'm very much on the AuDHD bandwidth, and I STILL prefer analog everything when it comes to receiving and processing information.
Having never willingly used AI, I would only notice its loss because none of my software would be constantly harassing me to try an AI function that I do not want. (I would love that so much.)
This is perhaps my new favorite video
I would like to state for the record i’ve ignored this post the last 50 times i’ve seen it bc i thought it would be some hyper cutsie anime girl voice and i’m overjoyed to report it is instead Weapons Grade Miku complete with war horns that fuck
When I worked at the sex shop we had this one customer. He was literally on the interview questions because we had to deal with him several times a week. He worked at the mall and we’d see him when we went in to go to the movies or grab lunch.
He’d always come in wearing a different wolf shirt. They’d be superimposed over the moon or running in packs. I think I only saw him in a non wolf shirt once when he came in wearing his work uniform, having apparently such a desperate need for more porn that he needed to come over on his lunch break.
We’d only get new shipments of DVDs once every other month, so the selection got pretty picked over. By him. Because he was the main purveyor of our movies.
We always ran a sale where when you bought two movies you’d get a third one for free. This man never, ever took the free movie. If there wasn’t one he liked right then he’d just buy two and leave. But then he’d come back later in the week and buy more, even though it was all the same stuff.
He'd wax eloquently to us about the deterioration of the porn industry and if you weren't careful you could be trapped for forty minutes or more listening to him go on about how repulsive fake boobs were. It's not that I disagreed, but I had other things I needed to be doing.
I transferred into that store from one further south. So I instead of answering all the typical interview questions the manager and I just had an informal chat. But I glanced down at the interview sheet she had printed and read, "What would you do if a man in a wolf moon shirt came up to you and asked your opinion on boob jobs?"
I laughed and when I looked back at her she slowly shook her head, no. That's not a joke. It took three days for that exact scenario to occur.
Today my wife texted me this, and then immediately called me to make sure I got it because it was “an urgent message”.

@sherbertilluminated there's a line somewhere in Ursula Vernon's Digger that goes something like "it is difficult to be metaphysical around the truly geologically minded"
So one of the things that can apparently contribute to kidney issues in cats is if they eat too much dry food and don't drink enough water; cats are adapted to get a lot of their water from their food since they're originally desert animals, and might not get enough water if they don't eat wet food. Unfortunately, Dozy won't eat wet food no matter what; she categorically refuses to touch the stuff. So a few months ago, we were looking for ways to get Dozy more fluids, and my wife noticed at the pet store a cat drink--basically meat broth with some floaty bits in--that was low-protein and meant for cats with kidney issues. So we figured, worth a try, right?
Great news: she loved it. Super tasty apparently. Great success. Along with the kidney-sensitive treats we found, it was a nice way to supplement her diet. Unforseen long-term consequence though: she loved it so much she began demanding it throughout the day. Like, would come up to us and meow, and meow, and meow, and not stop, until we got up, went to the kitchen, and got her some cat drink.
And by doing so on demand, we have unfortunately created a monster: no matter what we are doing at home, Dozy knows that if she sits next to you and meows, 1) you know what she wants, and 2) you know that she will not stop until you get it for her now. And when you do get it, she gets extremely excited. She will bum rush the kitchen door as you enter. She will run around your feet as you open the can. She will let out the creakiest, crunchiest, most nails-on-the-chalkboard meow you've ever heard if she thinks you're not going fast enough.
I do not begrudge her this. It is gratifying to care for a creature whose most ardent desires are so simple that it is this easy to fulfill them. But I am a little sad, because I know in my heart that I have never loved any comestible as much as she loves this cat drink. She has a pleasure of a purity and intensity that I will never know.
[the creacher in question]
Nothing on earth could have prepared me for the fucking face of Dozy
This is just how magic works, honestly.
Can you hear the people sing?
apparently ppl don’t know about waifu2x??? despite its… concerning name it’s literally the most convenient website i’ve ever come across as an artist
it allows you to resize artwork without it becoming pixellated. this is a MASSIVE help if you, for example, make lineart too small or something. it works best with things that 1. have no textures 2. have smooth lines 3. have cel shading, but it still works really damn well for things that don’t fit that profile
here’s an example:
normal size
2x in paint
2x in waifu2x
so like, there’s that. go wild

Photoshop scaled:
Waifu2x scaled:
It’s legit!! Tell your friends!
waifu2x-multi is the newer version. It allows for rescaling multiple pictures at a time and to scale them up to 10x the original size.
if they're gonna remake The Princess Bride, it should open with a kid sick in bed scrolling on his phone. his grandpa arrives with a gift--it's a DVD player with a disc already inside. grandpa hooks it up to the TV and presses play. and we all just watch the original 1987 film again.
I think we should figure out what age we’re living in now so we can say how it’s collapsing to each other
Our age of plastics is collapsing
