A reminder that sell-buy dates or best-used-by dates are not the same as expiration dates.
I love that a food bank is providing this info as they are experts in stretching food budgets and knowledgable in shelf-stable food items
So I followed the link to the website and found the longer list.
The website puts a link to the USDA site which links to foodsafety dot gov who really wants you to use the app, but you can bypass it.
Also a link to the Canadian government's advisory on best-before dates.
Both sites have links to pages that get more into food storage.
bridgerton is so scary. one by one the siblings are fetched away off into "their happy ending" only to turn into non-characters bearing innumerable children in the background of someone elses story. its like a zombie movie

phrases which, if you hear them come out of your own mouth or anyone else’s, should prompt you to pause and reevaluate your situation:
- “We don’t have time to follow the official procedure.”
- “I can cut my own bangs.”
- “Do you think I should be wearing eye protection right now?”
- “I’ll just trim up my bangs real quick before we leave.”
- “You marked that one as “flammable,” right?
- “How long could it possibly take to properly trim my own bangs? Five minutes?”
The Color Game. “Humans can’t reliably recall colors. This is a simple game to see how good (or bad) you are at it. We’ll show you five colors, then you’ll try and recreate them.” I scored 39/50 but got a perfect score on one color.
Oh this is very fun.

When I was in my teens, I used to make an entire magic system with 900 unique spells, ordered in magic schools and categories, and it boggles my mind that I basically reinvented DnD mechanics, even down to metamagic.
I wanted to make a wiki about it but I don't have time for it.
The point was to try to encompass every "superpower" I could think of into a magic system.
I even got lore related to it all, I'm pretty sure I'm gonna simply reuse it all for OC worldbuilding. Ngl the fun part was naming all the spells, symbols and coming up with the logic of it all. Edit : Due to popular demand, I'm making the wiki now yay. There's even more sigils done now >:]
After almost a year of brainstorming, coding, designing, writing and drawing, I am proud to announce that the magical system wiki I was working on is finally ready to open to the public !
You can check it out here !
World Anvil is a worldbuilding community and collection of tools for authors, role playing games storytellers and worldbuilding
The writing part is done, and I've done enough spells to provide an example for each element. The goal is to fill up that huge array eventually! >:]

replaying mass effect 2 and it's very clear how hard veilguard tried to pull a me2 with the "you gotta make your pals loyal before the suicide mission" except it works in me2 because these people do NOT like you. like i believe that jack would not be reliable for a mission she might not come back from unless she had gotten the revenge she wanted, processed her emotions, and somewhat trusted me to look after her wellbeing. in leaning too hard into trying to force a found family and make everyone static and nicies all the time, the game fails to make me believe that I actually have to work for anyone's trust. they already like me.
studying ancient history will have you thinking stuff like The 18th century was basically yesterday
i'll never live down the time i was talking with a friend and i said "given recent events". my friend said "what recent events?" and i had to reply "the Protestant Reformation"
