Jack and davey have just moved into a new house trying to start a life together after getting married. Albert and Race are two ghosts who haunt the building, both have questionable deaths. When Jack gets into an accident involving falling dishes he starts to see the two. This starts a family

Jack Kelly: the psychic who can see ghosts

Jack Jacobs Kelly has just moved to a new house trying to start a new life with his new husband David Jacobs. One night he gets into a small accident with some falling dishes when he come to he can see the ghosts haunting his new house. Jack is an artist who mainly paints landscapes but occasionally paints his husband. He’s cocky and funny he was adopted my Medda Larkin and has a younger brother by three years called Charlie.

David Jacobs Kelly is just newly wed to Jack Jacobs Kelly and the two move into a new house for a new life. One night Davey finds his husband bleeding from the head so he stitches him up and helps him to bed. When he comes back from work his husband is now claiming he can see ghosts. David is a highly intelligent nurse who is smart, kind, and willing to give help to anyone who needs it. Davey also loves to read and teach other people.

Albert DaSilva a ghost from the 1940’s he never saw the point of love and mainly kept to his close group of friends. Albert is a catholic who even after his death still carries his rosary and a tiny bible that he had died with. Albert is sarcastic and snappy. Albert is incredibly protective of racer despite being decades younger.

Racer or antionio is a ghost from 1899 racer’s parents were Italian immigrants who sent him to New York himself for a better life race fell in love once which had dire consequences so he vowed to never talk about it. Race had quite a few friends and was beloved by his father Bryan Denton. Race was a heavy smoker and has a cigar on him and two old pictures one of him and his father and another of a short boy a couple years older. Race was a newsie and a real good one at that selling many papers a day although he was a smart mouth leading to many fights but the newsies from New York loved him. Race is sarcastic funny and kind in his own way but has a sadness to him nobody can decipher.

Hiccup

Hiccup’s dad is a firefighter and a fire chief at that and his mother runs an animal sanctuary. Hiccup of course takes after his mother and love animals but like his uncle gobber he loves to tinker with things and loves engineering. He has a rescue black cat that’s missing half its tale of course named toothless. Hiccup lost his leg in an attempt to save toothless from a drunk driving car that was heading straight did him. Hiccup wears more earthy toned clothes and even bracelets. His hair is a mess and rarely kept with small braids done by astrid. Him and the gang “dragon saving” in a modern au are actually setting up their own animal sanctuary and fighting against a non eco friendly company who are kidnapping animals and selling them but also poisoning the nearby forest area with fossil fuels. Hiccup sees dagur as an older brother and Heather an older sister. His hobbies include.

Ray is working on a new movie heavily inspired by little miss sunshine, he wants non actors and actors to work in the movie and he asks around getting a bunch of different people, different professions and different personalities. Ray reaches out to Pete McVries to do the soundtrack and play a character he asks Pete to play a failed singer searching for a purpose on a roadtrip. Ray wants it to be an emotional comedy and asks Hank Olson to be a comedic character and while Hank Olson doesn’t know how to act well he agrees, curious about the movie and wanting to be part of it. Ray asks Art baker to do costume design and play a character who’s doesn’t know what to do with his talent and life, art agrees and thinks it would be a good opportunity. Ray hesitantly reaches out to Gary Barkovitch to play a rude and closed off man with a heavy past but a soft love photography as that’s how Ray found out who Barkovitch was through his amazing photography and while Barkovitch denies at first not wanting to be an actor and wanting to focus on his photography but after reading the script he agrees. Collie Parker was a strange one to reach out too but Ray wanted a more rebellious spirit on set and asked collie to play a early retired athlete addicted to drugs after a career ending injury, collie said no at first as he thought it was a shitty and very basic 2D role but after Ray sent the script in Collie seen that the character was more 3D and thought out than collie gave credit for so he agrees. Ray asks Stebbins to play an entitled daddies boy who’s been cut off of his money and at first Stebbins tells him to “fuck off” taking it as a personal insult and attack but after loads of convincing and borderline begging he agrees. He asks Richard Harkness to help write the script and Harkness is easily on board and agrees to help write and also play a writer Trying to find inspiration for a new novel. Hank Olson suggests to Ray that he has his girlfriend clementine play another comedic relief character, a young girl running away from home. He asks rank sanders to play a young boy trying to get to escape his families strict southern life and rank imminently agrees. Ray lastly very very hesitantly reaches out to Thomas Adam “Curley” white a child star who after years of abuse from the film industry quit and refuses to come back to the industry and became a writer exposing the abuse within the industry and sharing his story, when Ray reached out to him Curley was very quick to tell him no and said he was too scared and will never star in another movie but Ray talked to him and tells him he’s sorry about what happened to him and he gives him the script for the movie. Curley agrees to star in the movie, Curley plays a traumatised young boy running away from home and his past. The set becomes a family and they all become close friends especially Curley and Stebbins.

Guys I love creating older brother and younger brother (platonic) relationships that have no canon brother ship. For example racetrack and Jack Kelly in newsies and they interact in the movie just BEN TYLER COOK AND JEREMY JORDAN HAVE LITERALLY NEVER TALKED OR ANYTHING.

Anyways that’s off topic.

Recently my new brother thing have been stebbins and Curley from the long walk because free will exists and I would love stebbins as an older brother but they never interact like I mean never but free will exists so I LOVE THEM.

Although they don’t interact in the movie Garret wearing seems to love Roman and it’s adorable.

Heres a oneshot fic on a zombie apocalypse au on the long walk.

“The world is gone” stebbins echoes into the silence of an empty world. The group looks over staring at the shell of a man they thought they had once knew “we know that Stebs why you saying it like you just fuckin realised it” Pete asks not in a judgmental way a curious way Stebbins stares at Pete his eyes were empty and his face was set in a saddened look “there’s no world anymore not one I want” stebbins stands e towering over Pete “look at that!” He shouts, his voice escalating as points to Curley’s body lying curled on Harkness lap looking asleep as Harkness plays with the boys hair.

Pete’s eyes soften impossibly more “stebbins-“ Stebbins shakes his head “don’t, he was supposed to beat this world” he grits out voice clashing angrily together as he tires to hold his tough angry attitude up. Pete though sees right through it “he’s better this way” Pete whispers his voice softer but it doesn’t comfort stebbins it just makes his angrier “better…BETTER” he shouts “he would’ve been better alive walking the world with us, HIS FUCKIN FAMILY” he screams pointing at Pete’s chest letting the emotion that had been swirling in his gut out after hours of build up.

“he isn’t better dead he was just..he was jus-“ stebbins pauses with a sob as he crumbles Pete stares his eyes are brimmed with unshed tears as he looks at stebbins he crouches down and puts a hand on Stebbins back “you gotta realise something man he wanted to go, he was tired of being angry he was happy it was you, happy he wasn’t alone again, he wanted to die” Pete whispers again as Stebbins sobs echoes the land a pain breaking his chest Pete doesn’t stop though “he needed to go and he died loved and you loved him, remember that” Pete tells him before standing up and walking back to Ray standing just a little behind.

art guide him to Harkness who’s still holding Curley in his arms Stebbins looks at him before he collapses again wrapping his arms around Curley’s head and upper back his hands settling onto the side of Harkness’s jeans Harkness leans forwards and wraps his arms around the both of them.

Three people only two still breathing but the air has shifted slightly. All of them were on different roads now but none were walking alone and Stebbins knelt there locking Pete’s words into his brain before kissing Curley’s head and getting closer to his ear “you can rest now kid, your free” he whispers then a snap all eyes go towards the edge of the forest, a deer stands there a small one, a baby even white spots and innocent face standing out. Stebbins looks into its eyes before looking down at Curley’s soft brown hair and remembering his innocent deer like features he looks back at it and a small smile finds it way across his face Harkness grabs his hand and squeezes it. The deer nods at them then it bolts back into the forest. Stebbins holds onto harkness’s hand and lets go of Curley his hands still shaking. Curley was okay now he was free from the world and Stebbins breathed into the air tipping his head up looking at the sky as a soft breeze flew over him and he could faintly feel hands around his shoulders.

Guys this is a scene I wrote that won’t be in the fic but I really like it. My grammar’s shit I lost my green lensed glasses so I’m not doing to well grammatically right now but I hope you like it.

ray opens up one night and tells the group about his father and a man who his father called “the major” who drove his dad to suicide. stebbins froze, his plams sweating and his spot in the couch suddenly felt odd like it was going to swallow him up and god did he wish it did. stebbins did what each good bunny does he ran making his way to the sink, holding a tightening grip on the sides of the sink as his head was lowered over the bowl of it, he emptied his stomach into it each gag turning mouth more sour, each hit and command came rushing back through his head until he thought it’d never stop when a hand was suddenly on his shoulder, stebbins gasped ready to try and pull away when he heard a voice “its just ray your okay man” which made stebbins freeze “I’m sorry” he gagged out his tears blocking him from ray’s confused look “sorry for what?” he questioned curiosity taking over him, stebbins looked up at ray, saliva and vomit covering the edges of his mouth “I’m the rabbit” he gargled “I’m the fucking rabbit” he cried, ray looked even more confused. he held his hand on stebbins back, his face contorting from confusion to worry “rabbit?, how are you a rabbit man” he asked, his voice filling with worry as he turned to look at the others who stood concerned and awkwardly at the kitchen door. “the man who drove your dad to do that was called major, right?” he asked as tears dripped down his face. ray nodded with a slight stutter to it, stebbins closed his eyes and let out what seemed to be a suppressed sob “I’m sorry ray, I’m so sorry” he sobbed placing his head into the sink as ray rubbed circles into his back like he was a child “why?, it wasn’t your fault you were like twelve and your not even involved” ray told him attempting to laugh but instead just letting out a nervous breath stebbins looked up tears in his eyes “I’m his son” he told ray, voice cracking “I’m his rabbit, made as a taunt, and made by him” he spat disgusted waiting for ray to kick him out or shout at him for being panting like that “I’m sorry he’s your father, jesus you don’t deserve that s’fuked” ray told him firmly but not aggressively stebbins started with a look ray couldn’t figure out just yet “your not mad?” stebbins asks in a small voice nobody had heard before, ray nodded “I’m not”. Stebbins felt something he had never felt before - loved, he felt loved and he realized why his heart picked maine, why he chose to get on a plane here it was because his family were waiting for him here but he felt as if it wasn’t finished just yet they were waiting for somebody, someone still too far away and Billy stebbins knew he felt the same what and stebbins couldn’t wait.

Part 2/2

Finding out Stebben’s dad was the major made my heart break especially when gives his speach and I’m so angry that this is so true and watching stebbens stand and been shot kills me I curled into a ball of tears. Rays speech at one and half hours kills me becuase I knew he was going to sacrifice himself and when he get on his knees and tells Pete he loves him I lost it fully every death had built up to this point every gun shot killed me and watching ray fall to his knees feet bleeding I couldn’t hold it in anymore. You can’t talk about this movie without talking about Pete and ray these two she’s such a deep relationship and it’s speculated it could’ve been romantic if they both won even if it wouldn’t of happened this breaks me. Ray telling Pete he loves him and Pete being dragged away made my soul hurt and watching Pete cry on his knees while people cheered and says body laid dead was something that hurt. To me is symbolised the celebration of war while the kids who died lay dead for the governor that sent them on a death march. The singing and fireworks reminiscent of when people celebrate war and the zoom in on rays face hurt more. Pete crying for ray who sacrificed himself for him was always going to happen I couldn’t have predicted it but I knew ray or Pete would’ve done it. Pete doing rays wish was satisfying but heartbreaking to watch because Pete didn’t want ray to do that and couldn’t understand wasting your wish on somthing hateful when you could do good for yourself and instead of wasting it on hate and revenge it wasn’t until Pete experienced the same pain did he understand and I wish I could say it wasn’t satisfying because part of it was I didn’t want it be because it’s just a cycle of death but the people pete is killing for is honourable. Ray walks away and that’s how the movie ends and it’s so simple but he walks away a different boy not man because none of these boys were men. These boys were forced to pretend to be men like wearing a crippled mask on its last legs and when you push the mask too much it’s breaks these boys were put through hell and the mask of them pretending to be men broke and they became what they are boys. I’ve talked a lot about the war metaphor but it’s what the movie and book is all about. There are no winners in war is a common quote you’ll find and it can’t be more true the long walk being a competition just backs it up even more there are no winners in this competition just a survivor. You can’t talk about this movie without talking about Pete and Ray their relationship is so deep to me and when I tell you that was not brotherhood you can see it that way but I personally. Despite trying to pit the two against eachother the two develop a really strong bond and it really can be and is interpreted as queer. They really use romantic language and it is heavily implied in the movie. The soundtrack also needs a mention because it’s so incredible the music when someone dies is so soft but so tough no mellow sad instruments but still heartbreaking at the same time. it’s so amazing and if it’s not nominated for an Oscar I’m gonna scream. he bleachers song Isimo says “you were just a kid who when they told you, you’d been born to bleed little soldier”
