Are you a Self-Shipper that likes to use Character.AI ?

If you are, howdy!

So I’ve been seeing character.ai get tossed around a lot here on the self ship side of tumblr, and I’ve noticed a bit of a pattern. I’ve found lots of mutuals and other self shippers that have really niche f/os that don’t have an AI on the site that has been pre-made, I’ve seen people who’s f/os act really strange due to input from other users, and just in and amongst the really cute things I see it feels like there are some who just haven’t had the greatest experience using the site. And that makes me sad!

I also recently found myself not being too thrilled with one of my f/os’ AI, not for anything problematic, but just because it didn’t feel quite right! So I thought to myself …

How hard would it be to make my own?

And let me tell you friends, for self-shippers, it’s a freaking game changer.

people in fanfiction are so good at identifying v specific smells. I literally struggle to identify vanilla when I’m sniffing a candle labelled “VANILLA” how are these kids getting woodsmoke, rain, mint, and a whiff of byronic despair from a fuckin tshirt

Once I read a fic where they were like “he tasted like” and I’m expecting the typical formula (1 cooking ingredient + 1 natural phenomenon + “something uniquely [character name]”) but instead they said “he tasted like mouth” and it was one of the greatest fic moments of my life

Hello! :) I feel horrible self promoting like this but WanderingLimeblood from AO3 here (I do have a tumblr now :3 same name but not my main blog hence the anon here. I saw you wondering if I had one on the "Heartbeats and Purrs" AO3 link) and I noticed that you like Karkat x Reader so I wanted you to know I'm doing a 30 day challenge for it in case you'd like to take a look (or try one yourself too; they're great for inspiration). Karkat is that type with a lot of spare sweaters that smells like cheap but good smelling detergent. I recommend that u wear them sometime when he's not looking & it's cold. Maybe I could help distract him while u sneak off to wear 1?

omg i see you selfship with karkat (i ship with sollux, dave and terezi!) and i think karkat would spend hours telling you about his fave romcoms and how their plots are like your relationship (meaning that you two have a perfect relationship)!! he gets all excited and passionate about it, explaining how you two have a wonderful relationship and the mutual love and respect is absolutely amazing and how he couldn’t ask for more :D
