Why do some people think being radqueer and/or a proshipper is okay?
I understand being a proshipper is often because they enjoy things, like ships, that fall under the pro or darkship umbrella, normally due to trauma or a para, but calling yourself a pro/darkshipper just feels harmful. You're just normalizing things like toxic relationships, pedophilia, zoophilia, rape, grooming, etc.
I get it's "just fiction" but fiction impacts real lives, like teaching people that stuff is okay, it can also cause people, like kids, to think it's okay in real life too.
And with radqueers, I'm not the most educated on them...
I know they support things like being transage, transracial, transdisabled, etc...
I don't see how that's okay.
Transdisabled, I don't understand why anyone would want to be disabled. I'm mentally disabled (I thinl? I mean I'm autistic) and it's horrible. The only pro is the jokes I can make. And you can't really just say like.. "I wanna be a wheelchair user" or "I wanna be autistic", that's not how it works. With mental disorders you can't just say you have it. It's a life altering disorder that changes the way you behave and interact with people. Why would someone want to be disabled? And if you say "I feel like I should've been disabled" why embrace that? Shouldn't you be happy you're not? same goes with transrape....that's just mocking victims / admitting you want to rape someone.
Transage....I don't really understannd this one, wouldn't you "Feeling older" just be your maturity level? Same with feeling younger?
If you felt younger would you date younger people? or only other transage people? Same with feeling older.
Transracial...god, It just feels racist...? I don't really think I have too much of a say in this considering I'm a white american, but really? How does that make sense? You've never gone through the historical things said race has, it feels disrespectful to just say "Yea, I'm black." or something
Like I said, I don't think I have too much of a say in transracial considering I'm a white american, but also because of the fact I've been held back due to my learning disorders so I'm not too educated on things certain races have gone through.
This is not me trying to start a fight with radqueers or proshippers, I am anti but I want to understand why and how they think this is okay? I guess this would just be a friendly debate?
I added proship and radqueer tags so maybe proshippers and radqueers can share their opinions so I can learn....if any proshippers or radqueers find me using this tag as invasive or something I'll remove them....thank you!!
