Actually, that's not entirely true either, because I have made collages featuring all my favorite couples from the shows I've watched over the years—from the '90s, 2000s, 2010s, and 2020s. 😂 I've done the same thing with my favorite male characters, female characters, villains, and so on. So yes, if you look through those posts, you'll pretty much find everyone I've loved over the years. ❤️

And yes, the majority of my favorite couples are straight. If I had to put a number on it, it's probably around 9 out of 10. But again... I really don't think that's something I need to justify. 😅

I'm a straight woman. It really shouldn't be shocking that most of the romantic dynamics I personally connect with happen to be heterosexual ones, just like I would never expect a gay person to explain to me why most of the couples they connect with might be queer.

I've watched a few over the years, but honestly… probably not as many as I would've liked.

One of the first was Third Watch, which I think was one of the earliest TV shows centered around first responders. If I remember correctly, it featured police officers, firefighters, and paramedics. I enjoyed it, but even back then I found myself wishing there were more firefighter storylines. ❤️‍🔥

That probably comes from the fact that my dad is a firefighter, so I've always had a soft spot for stories about their work. That's also why I watched Codice Rosso, an Italian TV series about firefighters. Unfortunately, it only lasted one season. As for police shows… I've watched quite a few over the years, although I don't usually group them together with first responder shows unless they're really focused on emergency response. Of course, there's 9-1-1, along with 9-1-1: Lone Star, and now I'm really looking forward to 9-1-1: Nashville. 🚒🚑🚓

One show I absolutely loved was the Mexican series Donde Hubo Fuego (High Heat) on Netflix. I watched it in Spanish because I understand it well enough, and I genuinely enjoyed it. Firefighter dramas are surprisingly rare, so whenever one comes along, I'm always excited to watch it. ❤️ I've also heard good things about Under Fire, the Belgian series on Netflix, which follows a fire station fighting to save both its reputation and its future after a difficult call. And then there's Fire Country and Chicago Fire, which I haven't watched yet—but my dad really likes them! Honestly, I wish there were more firefighter shows. There just aren't that many, and not all of them really grab me. I remember trying Rescue Me, for example, but it just wasn't my favorite.

One thing I'd absolutely love to see someday is a European adaptation of 9-1-1. 😍 We've already seen successful international remakes of other shows. For example, the American version of DOC is based on the Italian series Doc – Nelle tue mani, and The Good Doctor was adapted from a Korean drama. I think 9-1-1 would be fascinating to adapt because emergency services work so differently across Europe. Take countries like France or the Netherlands, for example. They have paramedics, so there are similarities with the U.S. system, but the emergencies, the cities, the buildings, and the way rescue services are organized are still very different.

Italy would be even more unique. We don't have paramedics in the same sense as the U.S. Ambulances are generally staffed by trained volunteers who provide basic emergency care and transport patients to the hospital. If advanced medical treatment is needed, a physician-led response unit or a medical helicopter is dispatched. Because of that, firefighters often end up taking on a very different role during emergencies compared to what you see in American shows. That's exactly why I think a European version of 9-1-1 could be so interesting. The heart of the show would stay the same, but every country would naturally tell different stories because their emergency systems work differently. ❤️

I've decided not to reply directly to these anonymous messages. Instead, I'm sharing them simply to show the kind of things I receive.

The reason is pretty simple: more than once, people have accused me of making up the hate I get online. They've said I invent these messages to gain sympathy or attention.

I don't.

Recently, someone asked me about Palestine. I answered by giving my personal opinion, but I also chose to place it within its historical context because history has always been one of my passions. For that alone, I received an incredibly offensive anonymous message. I decided not to post a screenshot of that one because, honestly, even I found it too vulgar to share.

The two messages I did share, however, are perfect examples of what I consider completely unnecessary cruelty.

The first one says I was "born wrong."

Honestly... I can't imagine saying that to another human being. No one is born wrong. Ever. ❤️ As Lady Gaga said, "Born This Way." We all come into this world as we are, and that's enough. If someone believes otherwise, I think that says far more about them than it does about me.

The second message mocked my answer about age.

The thing is... I never claimed my perspective was profound, universally true, or something everyone should agree with. I simply shared my view. It's a perspective shaped by experiences from my own life, including some painful ones. You're absolutely free to disagree with it—but I don't think personal beliefs deserve to be mocked simply because they're different.

As for being told I'm "the laughingstock of this fandom"... well, that tells me the message probably came from someone within the 9-1-1 fandom who preferred to stay anonymous instead of putting their name behind their words.

Ironically, that only reinforces something I've been saying for a long time: a fandom that often talks about inclusivity should also remember that inclusivity includes respecting people with different opinions.

I've never claimed that every theory or article I write is objectively true.

Take my post about the Mandela Effect, for example. I never presented it as fact or expected anyone to believe it. It was simply a theory that fascinated me. I love paranormal mysteries, unexplained phenomena, and unusual ideas, and part of the fun is imagining possible explanations—even if they ultimately turn out to be completely wrong.

That's the whole point of speculation: exploring ideas, asking questions, and sharing perspectives.

I'm not posting this to defend myself.

I'm posting it simply to show the remarkable depth and maturity of some of the anonymous messages I receive.

I don't think I've ever expressed negative opinions about LGBTQ+ people. Not once. Saying that I don't personally ship a same-sex pairing in a TV show doesn't mean I'm against an entire community. And in this specific case, Buck and Eddie aren't even a canon couple—they're a ship that many fans would like to become canon, but they aren't canon at this point. Not shipping Buddie doesn't make someone homophobic any more than shipping them makes someone right or wrong. It's simply a preference. There are plenty of LGBTQ+ couples from other shows that I absolutely love. For example, Charlye and Yuri from School Spirits are one of my favorite couples, and I ship them wholeheartedly. ❤️ So I'm honestly not sure what "opinions" you're referring to, because I've never used my blog to attack or speak negatively about LGBTQ+ people. I genuinely have nothing against the community.

As for my username… no, I'm not changing it. 😊 I've had it for many, many years, and it has a deeply personal meaning to me.

Criss comes from my real name, Cristina. Ever since I was about two or three years old, my family has always called me "Criss." Hex isn't referring to an ex-boyfriend or anything like that. It's actually inspired by the German word Hexe ("witch"). I simply dropped the final -e. It also happened to be the title of an old British TV series about witches and vampires that I loved. And 88 is simply my birth year. So my username has been part of my identity for a very long time, and I have no intention of changing it.

Of course, everyone is free to form their own opinions. But if someone chooses to make assumptions about me without asking what my username actually means, that's their choice—not mine. What’s your opinion on Palestine

This is probably one of the hardest questions I could be asked.

The short answer is that my heart is with the Palestinian people. Seeing what's happening in Gaza today is devastating, and it's impossible for me not to feel horrified by the immense human suffering we're witnessing. 💔 That said, I also think it's important to acknowledge that this conflict didn't begin in 2023—or even in 1948. Its roots go back well over a century, and I don't believe it's possible to answer a question like this honestly without some historical context.

In the late 19th century, modern Zionism emerged in Europe as a response to widespread antisemitism, advocating for a Jewish national homeland in the historic Land of Israel, then part of the Ottoman Empire. At the same time, the Arab population living in Palestine was also developing its own national identity and aspirations for self-determination. Then came the Balfour Declaration in 1917. Britain expressed support for establishing a Jewish national home in Palestine, and after World War I, under the British Mandate, Jewish immigration increased significantly—especially after the Holocaust, when many Jews were seeking safety. That inevitably created growing tensions between two populations who both believed they had legitimate historical ties to the same land.

In 1947, the United Nations proposed the Partition Plan, recommending the creation of two states—one Jewish and one Arab—with Jerusalem under international administration. From my perspective, that plan ultimately deepened the conflict rather than resolving it. While Jewish leaders accepted it, most Arab leaders rejected it because they considered the territorial division fundamentally unfair, given the demographic reality at the time. That disagreement became one of the major turning points that led to the war of 1948. For Palestinians, this period is known as the Nakba ("the catastrophe"), when more than 700,000 Palestinians fled or were expelled from their homes and became refugees. That event remains one of the central historical wounds shaping the conflict today.

The 1967 Six-Day War marked another turning point, with Israel taking control of the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and Gaza. Since then, the occupation, the expansion of Israeli settlements in the occupied territories, and the unresolved question of Palestinian statehood have remained at the center of the conflict.

So yes, after looking at the historical context, my sympathy ultimately lies with the Palestinian people. The only distinction I feel it's important to make is with Hamas. Supporting the Palestinian people does not mean supporting Hamas. In my view, Hamas is a terrorist organization. In that sense, I see it much like groups such as the IRA or ETA (for examples). Whatever political or ideological grievances a group may claim to represent, once it chooses terrorism and deliberately targets civilians, it loses any legitimacy in the way it pursues those goals. That's why I consider myself pro-Palestinian, not pro-Hamas.

I know this probably isn't the simple answer you were expecting, but I honestly don't think a conflict this complex can be reduced to "pick a side." To me, history and context matter, because without understanding how we got here, it's impossible to understand why so many people see the conflict the way they do. ❤️ In my view, it's essential to distinguish between the Palestinian people and Hamas. Hamas has governed Gaza since 2007, does not recognize Israel, and has carried out acts of terrorism against civilians. I don't believe attacks on civilians can ever be justified, regardless of the cause being claimed.

I know this probably isn't the simple "yes or no" answer you were expecting. But I honestly don't think a conflict this complex can be reduced to a slogan. History matters, context matters, and above all, human lives matter. ❤️

Aww… 🥹 I have to be honest, the word "old" kind of breaks my heart.

The funny thing is… I don't actually believe age has the same meaning most people do. 😅 I know that probably sounds strange, but I've always had a very personal perspective on it. To me, the year we were born is incredibly meaningful. I also have a deep interest in numerology, so I believe our birth date carries a lot of information about who we are—our energy, our path, our lessons, even what some people would call our karma. ✨

There are all kinds of numerological systems built around your birth date, from energetic maps to life matrices, and I find them fascinating because they offer another way of understanding ourselves. But the number of candles on a birthday cake? That's just… a number. 😊 That's why, when people ask me how old I am, I usually answer, "I was born in 1988," instead of giving my age. It's not that I'm hiding it—I simply don't relate to age the way most people do.

I've always seen time as something we gain, not something we lose. ❤️ Every birthday, I don't celebrate getting "one year older." I celebrate the year I've been lucky enough to live. I take time to be grateful for everything it gave me—the beautiful moments, the difficult ones, all the lessons—and then I hope and pray for another year filled with new experiences, growth, and discoveries. 🌿✨
