@HockeyCanada: Get to know the men’s hockey team!
happy pride month everyone
happy pride to the nhl player who was preparing to come out and changed his mind. I hope he's happy and loved.
the completely opposite day they've had... 😭
macklin celebrini, YOU 🫵 have the connor mcdavid curse 💔
i wish more nhlers would ditch golf and pick up skateboards
mama and daughter being proud of each other oh my heart my bugs
vienna - billy joel (canada edition)
the sharks version of the first verse of the song
macklin celebrini has suffered more than jesus
O' Captain, My Captain
nobody think about mack saying "i'm like a curse to canada" on the empty netters pod..
someone please tell him that he “needs to be proud” right now bc none of this is his fault at all
no i'm gonna fucking cry actually. you're macklin celebrini. you were the top goal scorer at your first olympics, which you attended as the youngest nhl player in team canada history. you remain the only nhl player and the youngest player to score in a penalty shootout at the olympics. you fucking lose the gold medal game. you go back to the nhl and pretty much single-handedly drag your rebuilding team into the playoff race. you become the franchise record holder in only your second nhl season, and you finish the season as the 4th top points scorer in the league behind guys with 8+ years of experience on you. your team just barely loses out on the playoffs. you go to the world championships, you're named captain over your literal idol sidney crosby. you go to worlds because you want to win something for once. the first game you lose is the fucking semi-final.
sports are like. it shouldn't have ended like this. don't leave. it can't end like this. don't go. why is the love not enough
It’s the way that Mack wants to win, so desperately, because he never has. In his short but impressive career so far, if there was a team trophy or gold medal to be won, Mack has never won it.
The Chicago Steel lost in the first round of the USHL Clark Cup Playoffs during the 2022-23 season. While playing for Boston University for the 2023-24 season, Mack had a chance to win three team titles. BU lost to Northeastern in the 2024 Beanpot Final, then they lost to Boston College in the 2024 Hockey East Conference Championship, and finally, BU lost to Denver in the 2024 NCAA D1 Frozen Four semifinals.
Representing Canada in five international tournaments, Mack has won a medal twice: Bronze at the 2023 IIHF U18 World Championship and Silver at the 2026 Milano-Cortina Winter Olympic Games.
He’s the only North American first overall pick in the NHL in the last decade without a gold medal representing his country. Six of the last ten first overall picks have won gold: four Canadians and two Americans. Mack is the only Canadian of the bunch without a gold medal to his name. The other three without a gold medal are from Slovakia, Sweden, and Switzerland respectively.
Including USHL, NCAA, and representing Canada internationally, Mack has played in nine tournaments for either a team championship trophy or a gold medal. Despite his best efforts, he has not won any of them.
—Macklin Celebrini, the boy who has never won
