Okay last thought tonight before I forget. Even as Azune is breaking down showing how scared he is the fucking PIVOT to pressuring Occtis to go with him to the Einfessens in the middle of it gave me goosebumps. I’m 99% certain that his vulnerability was real but that 1% was in the back of my mind thinking how interesting it is that he breaks down at this moment where Occtis can witness it. That’s what makes Azune so interesting, he has such a genuine and sincere affect regardless of whether he’s truly honest or scheming. He knows to use vulnerability to his advantage, and that’s what makes him terrifying.

And then Occtis replying to what may have been Azune manipulating him into using him as evidence by saying he’ll always remember him as a good person in that moment? I do not have the brain capacity at 4AM to unpack the layers to that small consolation that left Azune feeling even more guilty than before.
