Lowkey. Anime Boston would improve so much more if they just SWITCHED CONVENTION CENTRES
obviously they have a ton of issues outside of the crowding (namely getting rid of the idol showcase?? wtf????), but one of my main issues with the convention has definitely been just how insanely packed it gets. Yes, Prudential Centre is a really cool venue, especially with all the food options available, shoot locations, and the ease of accessing the connected hotels. HOWEVER. The Hynes is quite simply way too small for the number of attendees? I just attended FanExpo Boston over at the Boston Convention centre, and while it was definitely crammed in the dealers hall/artist alley, there was simply so much more space to do things. I feel like AB would definitely be a lot better if they actually had enough space for all their events (plus we wouldn't have the whole. Members of the public harassing cosplayers while in the mall - like y'all. It's a public event. It's been happening for years. Maybe chill out for a bit and not yell at cosplayers thank you)?? Idk man I know there's a lot more detailed planning that goes into these things that I don't really understand but like. Maybe a little more space would benefit the convention as a whole?

Sorry blog gang I fear i got so insanely busy - here's the recap:
Got a job at starbucks and hated basically every second of it- gotta say food service is definitely not for me, especially when the food service requires you to be up at five am multiple times a week for nine hour shifts. I love you food service employees, I'm so sorry you go through the hell that you do.
Went to Anime Boston, only got harassed a few times, and met an absolutely fantastic photographer (takoyakisnapped over on Instagram!) who took some absolutely INCREDIBLE pics of my first edition of Mima from Perfect Blue:

Also met some other fantastic folks over at AB, namely babeyfizzy (Instagram) and skyvlis (also Instagram!)!
After AB, I quit my job at Starbucks and we hit the pride month mess - multiple pride events, most notably Springfield and Boston pride! Both of course were attended in full drag and yet I got practically no photos from the two - sorry gang you'll just have to trust me on this one :p
After borderline limping my way through the remainder of pride month and securing my current job, we reach July which contained what is of course my home con: Connecticon!! (photos for that will come from a separate post, just cause I still need to edit a little bit more for my own stuff >.<)
During July I also was able to make my drag debut over at The Spacevoid and only broke a total of ONE shoe which I count as a win - a huge thank you to Ash Troid and Strawberrie Anne for helping make this debut, it was such an honour performing with y'all :3

July got filled with the mess of CTcon prep and practically non-stop work at all THREE of my jobs - plus the joy of loads of paperwork to start college (which holy shit that starts in a few weeks!!!). After that, we hit August and my god was the crunch real for a very quickly planned trip out to Boston for FanExpo!! Yes this convention is actively happening I'm literally sitting in a tree outside my hotel writing this blog post because I got tired and needed to touch grass
WITH THAT ALL SAID we are now caught up to the present day: my ass is so damn tired BUT soon I will be switching from basically full time work (because again. three jobs) to getting my associates in Digital Photography! There will likely be scattered update posts about THAT whole mess, but until then. Thanks for waiting for my triumphant return gang I miss you <3

Cannot emphasize this enough, do not sign for a loan with someone you're dating. That shit is already used for so much abuse within marriages but to be financially attached to someone you're not even married to will cause you nothing but problems. Don't do it
Dont co sign for that car your boyfriend of one year wants. Do not take out a joint loan with that person who only just moved on with. And for the love of God do not sign for a mortgage with someone you would not legally attach yourself to in the eyes of the state. That person now can wreck your credit and has unbelievable control over your ability to get loans and housing going forward. Don't fucking do it
GUYS MAMI IS NEARLY FINISHED!! I've got pretty much all her clothes at the very least started - her corset and skirt are almost completely done and I started the shirt up last night. Most of what I've been doing at this point has been a lot of beading - I've been doing my usual add tiny details all over this thing and that of course includes random lines of beading. I don't have any photos of the in progress pieces atm (I'm literally writing this on my ten at work so bear with me) but as soon as I can get some of those I'll post em for y'all to check out. The corset itself will likely get a full breakdown post, since it's honestly the main statement piece of the entire cosplay. All that's left on it is adding in the front buckles and then it'll be done :3 As for the rest of the cosplay- the skirt still needs a bit of beading and hooks and eyes added. that will hopefully go pretty quickly. The shirt is still in quite a few pieces, I need to adjust the original pattern's darts and figure out how I want it to close (probably going for a zipper for that, but still not quite sure). The only pieces I still need to start up are her sleeves - not the ones attached to her shirt, the longer puff sleeves underneath. Those will probably be one of my last steps.
once again i have put ciel in absolutely nasty and gross sfx makeup I LOVE MAKING MYSELF LOOK DISGUSTING ITS SO FUN- legitimately putting a few of these in my portfolio for scare makeup because the bruising turned out absolutely exquisite
