Bruce gets dementia
Damian is utterly distraught because he realizes his Baba was present at all of his other kids’ weddings but won’t be for his. It's not fair, it's just not fair
He barely keeps himself from crying when Bruce stays silent as he gets walked into the venue, still only halfway done, and questions where he was and why there were so many people
Damian has to be pulled away from his Baba to get ready, while Bruce gets led to a quiet place to relax and not be put under any stress
One thing Damian has never compromised on is having a big reveal with Bruce. He wants his Baba to be the first person to see him fully dressed up in his wedding garments
He sits beside Bruce and just holds his hand, gazing out at the vast, opulent scenery of the wedding venue, softly talking about anything and everything just to fill the air
Then, Bruce turns to his baby boy, a familiar sparkle in his bright blue eyes, and he smiles
"Oh, habibi... Damian, you look so pretty..." Bruce rumbled softly, putting his other hand on top of Damian's and squeezing. "My baby, my sweet baby, so pretty for your wedding..." his face crinkles into that ever-familiar smile that Bruce would give him, something he hadn't seen in so long
And Damian bursts into tears because his Baba remembered.
And Bruce is able to slowly walk Damian down the aisle, just as he had with all his other kids. Bruce stays aware for the entire wedding, and Damian barely leaves his side, unable to bear the thought of not being there every second Baba can remember him
Damian makes sure Bruce is in every picture and video
It's a good reminder because Bruce wakes up the next day, confused about why this little boy is crying while holding onto him
No capes AU//
Single dad Bruce Wayne surrounded by his precious babies, who are all worried because last Parent-Teacher Conference, he was the only daddy without another daddy or a mommy with him!!
Bruce is trying to calm his wailing children, "Oh loves, being a single parent is fine! Unconventional but fine! I'm happy and I love you all enough for two!"
But they're not having this!! That's not fair!! Their dad is so nice and pretty, he deserves to have MANY mommies and daddies with him!! No, he should have ONE REALLY GOOD, REALLY BEST MOMMY OR DADDY WITH HIM!!
So they ask Bruce what kind of other daddy ("A husband!" Jason corrected) or a mommy ("That's called a wife!" Dick said) he would like to have
And Bruce, realizing that fighting his kids is something he simply doesn't want to do, so he tries to placate them
"Well.... I always liked someone who is good with numbers. A-And someone who's good at taking charge. I love it when someone has good hair and a biting sense of humor, and is family-oriented 😊"
Bruce thought dignifying his children with a response would be the last time he even has to think about the wifeless/husbandless existence he's living
.
.
.
Then a week later, Bruce has to watch his kids come home to his porch holding one very confused looking Hal Jordan
"Dad, look! We got you a husband!" Jason cheered, pushing Hal to Bruce.
"I checked his bank statements and his police record! He's a-okay, Daddy!" Tim added on with the sweetest smile a 7 year old can have.
"And he smells nice, like hot chocolate brownies, my favorite," Cass said, currently in Hal's arms and nuzzling her face on his neck, "He has really soft hair too."
"And I checked his social media on the way here! He's single! The kids on his accounts are his brothers' kids!" Duke said, holding Hal's hand, "Isn't that right, Mr. New Dad?"
Hal chuckles nervously, "I swear, they said they were lost in the city, Mr. Wayne.
Bruce looked at his eldest in horror.
"It was that or we went to England to find what a 'distinguished gentleman' was supposed to be, or whatever it is that Alfred wanted for you," Dick shrugged, not looking up from his phone showing the map home, meaning they were very much not lost.
Before Bruce can find his bearings, they start to usher Hal into the house
"Okay new dad, you can sleep in our daddy's room!"
Hal, who is too nice and a bit of a sucker for cute kids, follows happily.
It takes Bruce 10 seconds to process that there is a stranger in his home
.
.
.
After all children were put into their respective time out corners, Bruce is finally ready to face the poor soul his children abducted.
"Okay, finally. Mr. Jordan, I'd like to apologize for—"
Bruce stopped.
Currently there's a 6"4 muscular man on his floor playing with toddler Damian and letting him touch his face. Hal is blowing raspberries into the baby's palms and answering his babbles with full sentences.
"Oh, Mr. Wayne! Are the kids all packed away?" Hal asked, hands still stuffed in animal puppets that Damian is giggling at.
...
Well...
The kids did say Hal was single.
Kiyotaka misses Mondo while he's out at a gang meeting and ends up stumbling upon a video that gives him an idea. It's a little... Sensual, but not so graphic that he couldn't perform the move. Plus he thinks that Mondo would really enjoy the sentiment.
Mondo pulls up on his bike to the front gates with Michi and 2 other members, they dismount and say their final pieces about the plan they concocted. Kiyotaka spots them, as he's been waiting at the front gates for a while, and strolls over. Mondo doesn't notice, but Michi does, quickly teasing the Biker leader about his boyfriend seemingly about to chew him out.
He turns to look and, fuck, Taka does look angry. Or nervous. And he has something gripped in his hand.
Before Mondo can defend himself, Kiyotaka is already in front of him. Right up in his bubble. He grabs the top of the white tank and pulls Mondo against him, kissing him deeply.
Mondo is stunned at the move, fighting the urge to push him off because of his nerves. He doesn't get a chance to collect himself, he feels something happen below him then Taka pulls away.
His pale eyes dart across Taka's whole being. His face, his chest, his legs, did he have to get on his toes to do that? They land on his face again, noticing the mischievous look in his boyfriend's target-like eyes.
Did he just imagine this whole thing or did Taka genuinely just kiss him? Right here?? In front of his members???
Just like that, Kiyotaka was walking back up the steps into the school. All Mondo could do was watch him stroll away.
Hours could've gone by and the leader wouldn't have noticed. It took a punch to his shoulder to bring him back, he zoned in to hear Michi making another teasing remark. Something about male strippers.
What?
His gaze lowered, seeing a paper sticking out of his pants. If it had been green instead of yellow, he would have gawked at the fact that Taka actually just tipped him. Like a goddamn stripper.
He pulled out the note, recognizing it almost immediately. It was a completely filled out detention slip. For reasoning, it stated, 'Violating the school's moral code by engaging in a public display of affection with Ishimaru Kiyotaka'.
Even though he'd be spending an hour in detention tomorrow and his gang members were actively making fun of him and would most definitely be telling the others about this, he smiled.
Sneaky fuck.
Can’t stop thinking about a jondami social media/streamers AU type thing. Jon has always posted on social media a lot, and when he’s in high school, he winds up making a YouTube channel where he plays video games. Of course, Damian is in most of these videos since they play video games together.
People obviously know that he’s Damian Wayne and are fascinated by him being on some random guy’s YouTube channel since he’s such a private person. Damian doesn’t even really have any social media, only Instagram where he posts occasionally about his animals and any charities he wants to raise awareness for.
To add to it, Damian seems almost nice (?) to Jon. He insults him a lot, sure, but it’s clearly playful. Everyone has seen videos of Damian threatening the paparazzi or arguing with his siblings, so they know he’s usually a lot rougher around the edges. It’s weird to see this side of him.
Over the years, Jon’s channel gets into other stuff too. Random social media challenges and vlogging and whatever else he decides he wants to do. Without fail, Damian is almost always in these videos, and people start noticing just how close they are.
It becomes a full fledged conspiracy theory and there are these “proof” videos about them secretly dating. They’re all just clips from Jon’s channel of them staring at each other with heart eyes, or being a little too touchy, or the camera cutting at a weird point. It also doesn’t help that they’re both in college at this point, which means videos of them at parties together acting way too friendly start to circulate as well.
Damian and Jon never deny the allegations, but they never confirm them either. They really just don’t pay any attention to them and just keep doing what they’re doing.
Eventually, this all comes to a head when Jon’s live-streaming one day and Damian stumbles into the frame looking like he just woke up (he did, even though it’s like 5 pm, because the Bats are practically nocturnal), not wearing a shirt, and clear as day says “beloved, who are you talking to? Come back to bed.”
Jon cuts the livestream, but it’s too late. Practically the entire world knows they’re dating now. Not that either of them particularly care, they just didn’t find it necessary to tell anyone they were together except for their friends and families.
A few days later, they wind up making a video confirming that they are, in fact, dating and have been for a couple of years now. The internet loses its shit, but nothing really changes with the videos Jon and Damian post (except for the occasional kiss on-screen, of course).
When the JL first forms and a few of the members invite Batman to a Fourth of July party, he tells them, “I can’t, I’m very busy with much more important things.”
The much more important things in question? Getting back to his son and their new puppy Ace so he can grill hotdogs and hamburgers in the backyard, go swimming and watch Dick do a hundred different kinds of jumps into the pool as he shouts, “Watch this! Watch this!” And then of course get the fire pit going when the sun sets so they can make s’mores and watch the fireworks. Before the fireworks are even over, Dick is wrapped in a pool towel on Bruce’s lap, his cheeks and his shoulders pink and sun-kissed from being outside all day, and he’s fast asleep. Meanwhile, Ace is snuggled up at Bruce’s feet keeping guard of both of them.
Bruce absolutely adores it and he wouldn’t change it for anything.
I was talking about this in the Damijon discord, but I’ll share it here. I saw a tiktok of a guy about to propose to his girlfriend and he was so visibly stressed and I can’t help but imagine Jon before he proposed to Damian.
Damian gets so worried because Jon looks like he’s going to be sick or faint.
They go to the mountain that their Dad’s sent them to bond when they first met each other. They climb to the top when Jon pops the question. Damian, of course, was expecting it.
Jon is so relieved when Damian says yes that he throws up over the ledge.
Anyways, Jon loves him so much.
Rip Marc and Nathaniel, you would love moving in together the second you're eighteen, then once you have enough money and some sort of idea on how to run a buisness you would love to get a house together and turn the first floor into a cafeteria with books the people can borrow and all sorts of art classes by Nate, from painting pottery to drawing manga style to elegant oil paintings.
Rip adult Marc and Nathaniel, you would love looking into each other's eyes and realise you've made a home together.
superbat cinderella au where bruce is the prince being pressured by alfred to host a ball with the intention of finding a spouse, and clark is a farmer's son who's snuck into the palace for one night of extravagant fun.
no evil stepmother/siblings but there is a wealthy boy in his small town that’s always had it out for clark—lex luthor. his father practically rules smallville, abusing their people and thwarting the achievements of others. the luthors only want to see themselves succeed.
and then comes the royal decree for all eligible men and women to attend the prince’s ball and help him find a spouse.
lex luthor gets a personal invitation. clark does not.
but he counts as eligible, doesn’t he? and it’s not like clark actually wants to marry the prince—he’s just interested in attending the ball. if he’s quiet, and inconspicuous, he can enjoy the festivities for one selfish night and go back to his home, curiosity satisfied without any trouble.
his parents, surprisingly, don’t object to the idea. apparently they attended a wayne gala when they were younger, before the former king and queen were killed. they say they enjoyed themselves, explain that even if clark were caught by a guard, the waynes have always been kind to commoners—unlike the luthors.
clark wants to be cautious anyway; he’s more worried about what the luthors would do to his family if they found him attending the ball and “competing” against lex for prince wayne’s hand.
clark’s “fairy god mother” is the alien ship that his parents show him, hidden in the forest behind their farm. it creates a beautiful set of robes that accentuate clark’s waist and bring out his eyes with intricate layering and a rich blue doublet with a deep red cloak. his ma combs his stubborn curls back and fits him with his pa's belt the colour of gold, and they shine pa's deep red boots that he wore to the wayne gala years ago.
his parents tell him to leave the ball by midnight, so that the luthors don't spot him on the way back, and then they send him off. clark rides the family horse, krypto, to the palace, heart thundering in his chest as he arrives and a stableboy tends to his horse.
the interior of the palace is shiny and welcoming, packed full of eligible lords and ladies with their parents. clark sticks to the sidelines, taking in the sheer grandeur and appreciating the live music. more than once, he has to duck out of sight to avoid the luthors as they slink through the ballroom.
not long after, the prince is announced with his own fanfare, a long red carpet rolled out for the lords and ladies to begin lining up to introduce themselves. clark can't stop himself from trying to catch a glimpse. he spots the prince, clad entirely in black with a silver crown laid over his brow, pale blue eyes piercing and alert, with plump lips and a sharp jaw and the perfect tousled look to his hair.
oh, clark thinks, blushing despite himself. he's beautiful.
clark wants to get closer. he so desperately wants to, but the line is in the middle of the room, and it would be easy for the luthors to spot him. he promised his parents he'd be safe and cautious. he won't put the farm in danger because of a fleeting attraction to a man he can never have.
clark drifts to the balcony to give himself some air and get his mind off the prince. it's not hard—the view itself is beautiful. the night sky is endless above him, a swirl of constellations, and clark can see the whole city of gotham from this high up, an impressive sprawl of houses and greenery.
he's so caught up in the scenery that he doesn't notice someone else ducking behind the curtain onto the balcony until they've come up beside him, leaning on the railing.
"that's my favourite ice cream shop down there, at the end of the street," prince bruce wayne whispers to clark, leaning closer to point at a squat building near the edge of the city.
clark barely manages not to startle, white-knuckling the railing beneath him as he makes himself breathe. "do you...have a favourite flavour?" clark asks, thanking the gods that his voice stays steady.
prince wayne glances at him sidelong, his mouth quirking upwards. "dark chocolate," he replies, voice honeyed with warmth. "and you?"
"vanilla," clark replies, sheepish as he tries to adjust his robes and appear more presentable. he runs a hand through his hair, anxious, but only manages to dislodge a few curls. after a few stretching moments of silence, clark asks, "why are you out here?"
prince wayne raises a brow. "it's my balcony," he says, tone curling with amusement.
clark huffs, his ears glowing. "i meant, why aren't you inside with all your suitors?"
now it's wayne's turn to frown. "they're very...pushy," he says slowly, and clark gets the impression that he's picking his words carefully. "and anyway," he continues with a tilt of his head and wide smile. "don't i have a suitor right here?"
clark blushes harder, overwhelmed by the prince's easy flirting and kind eyes. "i...suppose you do," clark says eventually, because he can't admit to the prince that he snuck into his gala with no intention of seeing him at all.
prince wayne smiles, turning to face clark properly. he brings his hand to the crook of clark's elbow and pulls him from the railing to the edge of the balcony. the music from inside drifts out to them, and the prince guides clark through a slow waltz.
clark is absolutely useless at dancing. more than once, he steps on prince wayne's foot, but the prince laughs through clark's stuttered apologies, his eyes crinkling with warmth.
they lose track of time, out there on the edge of the party. their dancing is clumsy and uncoordinated, but prince wayne seems to enjoy just talking with clark, delightfully interested in everything he has to say. clark gets lost in their little bubble, pleasantly warm and happy to talk at lengths with the prince. this is so much better than he ever hoped it would be.
and then the clock strikes twelve. midnight.
clark's easy smile morphs into an expression of panic, and he jerks away from the prince, darting for the balcony door with an apology thrown over his shoulder. he races through the ballroom, thundering down the main steps and calling for his horse.
he's just mounted krypto when prince wayne grabs at his cloak, asking where he's going. clark only apologizes and says he has to go, urging krypto on.
"wait, please," prince wayne begs. "at least tell me your name."
"kal," clark whispers, feeling a pang of guilt at the lie as he turns and kicks krypto forward. his cloak rips under the prince's grip, but he doesn't have time to mourn the damage because the luthor carriage is right there, and he must beat them back to smallville.
his clothes get all torn and muddy as he takes shortcuts through less-travelled roads, but clark makes it back to his farm, relief washing over him as he untacks krypto for the night and sets him in a stall.
when he gets through the back door, smiling giddly and humming the same tune he and the prince had danced to, he stops dead. there, in his living room, is lex luthor, dressed in his expensive ball attire and looking furious.
the luthors put him to work as punishment. clark has to split his time between his parent's farm and the luthors', starting before the sun rises and ending after it sets. the work is gruelling, and tiresome, but clark can't bring himself to regret that one night of stolen bliss, getting to know the prince and the heat of his chest pressed to clark's.
he's so caught up in the doubled work that he doesn't get any of the messages about prince wayne looking for a mysterious man named "kal," and misses all the drama when nobody can seem to find the one prospect from the ball.
it comes to a head when prince wayne personally visits smallville, checking every available household himself for the man who's stolen his heart in so little time.
clark sees the line of horses from his field, but he can't afford to waste time to investigate them, so he ducks his head and gets back to work.
and then prince wayne's horse gets away from him. later, clark will learn that luthor had smacked the poor mare, but at the time he only hears a startling noise and a handful of shout, followed by hoofbeats growing ever closer.
the kingsguard are running, shouting at clark to get out of the way, and—clark recognizes that dark cloak at the front. he braces himself, holds his palms out to calm the mare, and manages to jerk forward and grab the reins when she falters at the sight of him.
“thank you,” prince wayne says as he jogs closer, looking his mare over and patting her neck to soothe her. “such bravery is—” he stops short, brow lowered as he looks clark up and down. he takes a scrap of fabric from his breast pocket and holds it up to clark’s makeshift shirt, a wrap of the cloak he’d worn to the ball. they’re an exact match. “kal,” he says, tone hard with disbelief.
clark’s shoulders rise up to his ears as he winces and says, “it’s clark, actually.”
prince wayne frowns, bringing his hand up to brush clark’s hair off his forehead, the way it had been styled for the ball. “clark,” he repeats, testing out the word. “you lied to me.”
clark looks away, unable to bear the guilt, the ache in prince wayne’s tone. he gestures weakly to the field they stand in. “i couldn’t stay. i have work to do.”
“this is lord luthor’s field,” prince wayne says slowly, eyeing the large house atop the nearest hill. “where is your land?”
clark squeezes his eyes shut. “i am to work these fields as—punishment. for daring to step foot outside of my rank.”
“punishment,” prince wayne echoes, voice dark. all at once, he turns with a whirl of his cape, mounting his horse. “come,” he says, holding out a hand to clark. the moment clark’s hand slips into his, he’s yanked up into the back of the horse.
at prince wayne’s urging, clark guides him to his farm, tearing through luthor’s crops as he does so.
when they reach clark’s home, clark dismounts and looks up at prince wayne, all regal and strong and pretty.
“you will never have to worry about house luthor again. i swear it.”
“thank you, your highness,” clark says, dipping his chin.
“please, call me bruce,” prince wayne replies, that warm smile back on his face.
clark grins and grips bruce’s cloak, tugging him down to bring their mouths together in a crushing, elated kiss. he presses hard into bruce’s mouth, enjoying the slickness of his tongue as they move closer. something in clark’s chest settles, something that hasn’t fit right since he left the prince behind in his palace.
he makes an embarrassing, wanting noise when bruce pulls away, but it’s only enough to look at him properly as their breaths mingle together.
“visit me in gotham sometime,” bruce says, voice low.
clark smiles, excited and terrified in equal measure for what’s to come. he wants this so, so badly.
“i’d like that,” he says, and pulls bruce in for another searing kiss.
Superbat identity reveal shenanigans where Bruce kept flirting with Clark as Bruce Wayne (both with Clark and Superman, and occasionally implying he knows that they're the same). And then eventually while Clark is rambling to Batman about this because besties he kinda,, gets caught by a comment Batman makes and uses his x-ray vision and oh. Oh.
Buttt, Bruce always acts so sweet and helpless with him, right? Tucking into his side and begging this big, strong man to just keep holding him, keep him safe <3 and Bruce Wayne, well, he doesn't have any powers! He's smart, sure (Clark has realized the ditzy himbim vibe is an act) but he's a guy, a normal human who keeps acting so very helpless and vulnerable. Like, he keeps doing the whole damsel in distress thing, just so Clark will keep holding him a little longer.
So, even now that Clark knows Batman is Bruce Wayne, he kinda processes it the opposite way? Instead of "strong man who is a competent fighter and amazing detective puts on an act as ditzy playboy" it's "this vulnerable, sweet man who needs my protection every time I see him has been pretending to be so much stronger than he is because he was scared". It's not Batman is Bruce Wayne, it's Bruce Wayne is Batman. And Clark goes kinda crazy about it.
He gets like, really overprotective and touchy. How many times has Bruce quietly asked him to just keep holding on? Clark isn't allowing that distance as heroes anymore. Bruce needs him. Needs to be protected. Kept safe. Sure, Bruce can handle himself, but he kept begging Clark to protect him - Clark isn't going to just stop. He's constantly got Bruce against his side, cape over Bruce's shoulders like a shield (it's kryptonian fabric, maybe it is). He's patting Bruce's shoulders and rubbing his arms and being so sweet and close.
Bruce is just a human, a human who has been pretending to be more, putting himself in danger because of a sense of duty. And he wouldn't even let Clark protect him, because he was scared of them finding out who he was. And Clark maybe understands a bit, because it's so hard for him to let someone like Bruce keep going out as a hero. Bruce is so fragile, so vulnerable, he doesn't even have powers like the rest of them, he's soft. Clark will let him be Batman, of course, but he's keeping a much closer eye out now. Bruce is just so precious, and Clark doesn't want him getting hurt.
(I. Have a thing about characters getting treated as softer, more dependent/vulnerable than they actually are... And I remember seeing a post about Clark who thinks humans are so cute and he wants to protect them all, because he's so much stronger and they're all so small and precious and squishy and vulnerable. He gets cuteness aggression about them. It's like wanting to protect a small, cute animal, y'know? And his teammates at least have powers like him! But then he finds out Bruce doesn't... Ahhhhh I love them.)
OMFG I have had this ask in my inbox for weeks. I just love this so fucking much.
And I'm so mad at myself that I didn't think of this before. This is eye opening for fucks sake.
Every superbat identity porn that I have read to date, it has always been Clark finding out that the himbo Bruce Wayne is Batman and that means he's strong and independent and untouchable.
I NEVER fucking considered that he could have ever interpreted it in the opposite way (you're a fucking genius and ily)
Clark finds out Batman is Bruce Wayne? And suddenly he can see all of their interactions playing in his mind. About Bruce took to tuck himself under Superman's arms when he was trying to "flirt" with him or how Bruce held on to him tightly like a scared child whenever Superman saved him from a near death experience. He remembers how soft Bruce actually is, how Clark can see the underlying want for love and protection Bruce has in his eyes.
And suddenly Batman is not an untouchable entity anymore, he's the soft, fragile human who unknowingly told Clark just how he had been pretending to seem stronger than he actually is. Clark knows no doubt that batman is not helpless, but he also knows how fragile and squishy humans are.
All of this makes Clark's head rush with a sudden bout of protectiveness for Bruce, he already loved the man before but now that he knows just how soft and human Batman is, everything is ten times more intense.
He's always hovering around Batman protectively, making sure he doesn't take unnecessary hits. He starts to leave his mark on him so that Bruce feels more comfortable like leaving his cape on Bruce's shoulders or modifying the batsuit with help of kryptonian tech to make it more sturdy.
He also stops pretending to not care about Bruce and takes everything in his own hands. He earns Bruce's trust slowly as if he's a skittish kitten and to Clark he really is akin to one, distrustful but sweet and it gives him a bad case of cuteness aggression, makes him want to protect Bruce and bubble wrap him. And he does wins Bruce's trust by using all the methods to befriend a stray kitten.
And suddenly he's at the manor every other day, managing Bruce's health and lifestyle. He starts courting Bruce without hesitation and makes Bruce understand how precious he is to Clark.
Ughh I love this soo much. IF you are gonna write this as a fic, I will do anything you want from beta reading to sobbing over this cute ass fic 😭🫠

Had this thought of Bruce hating the taste of alcohol so that's why he tries to host as many of his wild bashes at the Manor or on WE property so Alfred can serve him non-alcoholic shots and mocktails without it being caught. He had to once throw away a really nice n/a mojito because Ollie pointed out it had no booze and he had to drink a real one, it ruined his night completely. And it's not just civilian parties or get togethers, even at JL events, Bruce has to pretend to drink because he thinks they will make fun of him. Clark finds out and immediately comes up with the plan that if they're at the same parties, he will down the shot for Bruce when nobody is looking and put the glass back in his hand before anybody notices. However, somebody notices, Barry, and he of course blabs and the JL is putting the pieces together at the next event, Bruce going tee-total, Clark stood nearby and... watching Bruce intently? Obviously, there can only be one explanation.
8yo Dick Grayson, skipping along next to Bruce: I'm so happy, B
Bruce, thinking it's because he let Dick stay up late to go to the JL party: That's great, chum.
Dick: I'm going to be such a good big brother, B.
Alfred: *almost crashes the car*
superbat love square inspired by #that post by the supah cool @y3np3ws
Damian likes animals. That's no secret, but he's been in a bit of a horse phase this season. His socials are flooded with horse videos and he's in love. He wants to see these beauties himself.
But he would rather die than go to a rigged horse race where bets are placed and horses are abused for some easy cash. He would never support that cause and is writing his science fair project on the impact of tranquilizers and steroids on a horse's body.
In the meantime, however, he finds a ranch in Smallville, Texas. Locally raised horses who race and live in paradise, taken care of well and treated right, loved by the entire town.
What else was Damian to do but paste posters and notes of this place all over the Manor for his father to find?
Enter Bruce Wayne, only 32 when he came to meet Damian (yes, younger Bruce Wayne, surprise surprise), and he's barely had the kid 2 years when this pops up. He would never say no to that face, but if he could, Damian's passion about it is more than enough to concede.
Suddenly, they're in Smallville for a week, seeing horses and waiting for the local derby to take place. At the Ranch, Damian meets Jon Kent, a boy around his age who helps in the stables and taking care of the horses. Immediate best friends, united by their shared love for animals.
Bruce sticks out like a sore thumb, in his pressed shirt and slacks. Yes, he wore sunglasses inside like a douchebag but he has eyebags for days, excuse him.
"And what do you do with the older horses?" Damian has his little notebook out, scribbling down everything Jon says. He glares at Bruce when he suggests just using his phone.
"Oh, well, those we send to the farms round here," Jon smiles, his upper canine missing. "We have bout 4 on our own farm."
"You have a farm?" Bruce asks, feeling proud of how Damian is so entranced in the topic and wanting to chip in himself.
"Sure do. It's a bit far from here but it's got acres for these horses to spend their days." Jon looks around, seemingly trying to spot someone. "My pa owns it ever since my Grandpa handed it over to him, he loves talking about it." Jon's eyes light up when looking over Bruce’s shoulder.
Bruce turns and locks eyes with a 6 foot 5, built like a brick house, tanned and slightly sweating man, greying at the temples and crows feet near his eyes. Holy... Cow?
The man walks over, offering a pleasant smile at Bruce - one you offer strangers you pass by. "Jon, there you are." He drops 2 hay bales beside the boy. "Take this over the the stables, will ya?"
"Pa, meet Damian, my new friend!" Jon points at Damian. "And his dad.. Er, Brick?"
"Bruce," Bruce smiles, holding out his hand.
Clark nods, "Pleasure to meet ya, Bruce. I'm Clark, Clark Kent."
Clark Kent, a fine man, and a contestant of the derby.
Oh, Lord, have mercy, this man looks exquisite on a horse. Sleeves rolled up, large hand petting the horse's mane as he whispers sweet words of encouragement in its ears as he guides it through the track. His sweet voice as he gently takes care of the older horses. The veins in his forearms as he lifts the smaller horses or treats the ones who are injured. His fierce protectiveness over his ranch.
It's really hot and Bruce is trying really hard not to act on his desires. Which is much easier when Clark finds out Bruce is billionaire Bruce Wayne and suddenly, he feels like Bruce is trying to win him over and buy his farm from him.
Stalker Tim and stalker Kon?
Tim first stalks Superboy because he’s a new kryptonian, and he might be a danger. He’s not hard to find, seeing as he’s basically famous already due to Lex.
The vigilante gathers information and even goes to metropolis for some photos sometimes.
Before he clicks the photo, Superboy looks straight at the camera.
And Superboy appears in front of him.
Tim jumps back, hand hovering over his belt, and narrows his eyes. He knew Superboy would be good, but not that good.
The meta tilts his head, a smirk forming on his face.
“You could’ve just asked for a photo, you know?”
Tim sighs internally. Of course he would flirt. He keeps up a different attitude on the outside, though. He goes for sort-of-shy-but-not-afraid.
“Guess I wanted to ‘get to know you better’ first.” Tim gives a small smile. Wow, he sounds like a stalker.
“Oh?” Superboy looks intrigued. That’s not good. “What’s your name, roaming bird?”
Tim tries to not look down at his costume. He does not look like a bird, thank you very much.
“Robin. You’ll see me around, I’m sure.” It was time to wrap this up. With a wink, he whipped out his grapple and went up on the nearest rooftop.
He did his disappearing act, surprising the other. Tim waited a couple minutes to make sure Superboy wasn’t following or finding him before heading back to Gotham on his bike.
He thought nothing of this interaction.
From then on, Tim feels like he’s being watched. He knows he’s not being paranoid, either. He constantly feels a pair of eyes whenever he’s at patrol. When he looks back, he sees nothing.
Then comes the photos. In his room, one random day, there is a pile of photos on his desk. There are various photos of him as Robin.
Tim is caught off guard.
He doesn’t have any leads. He doesn’t have suspects. It’s just. There. No fingerprints on the photos, no clue in the photos either because the angles are so inconsistent. It’s like the stalker is everywhere.
Because he can’t get any information, he reluctantly leaves it. He looks back into Superboy though, partly because he wants to escape Gotham for a while, and partly because he’s curious about the new super.
He goes back into Metropolis, to look for him. After roaming around the rooftops for awhile, there’s a sudden breeze and Superboy is right in front of him.
Superboy smiles.
“Did you like the photos I gave you?”
Tim freezes.
“What?”
“The photos. The one I gave you. At your desk, you couldn’t have missed it.”
And everything clicks into place. The slightly messy photos because of inexperience, the random angles taken from Superboy flying around.
Tim squints behind his domino mask.
“So you sent me them. Why?”
“To ‘get to know you better’.” Superboy’s smile never falters. “Do you think I did well?”
Tim puts two and two together. Because the clone is relatively new, he basically had no social cues. So he stalked Tim. And thought it was relatively normal.
“Why did you stalk me?” Tim asked, ignoring Superboy’s question.
There’s no hesitation. “Because you stalked me.”
Tim is perplexed. Superboy continues talking.
“I heard some people like to know people better before pursuing them. You stalked me, and I was interested, so I stalked back.”
It takes every muscle in his body to stop himself from face palming. Of course Superboy thought he had a crush on him. Of course.
“So, you’re interested?” Robin asks.
“Yes. Are you?”
Tim mulls it over. Honestly, this is kind of hot. Stalking has always been Tim’s forte, and someone else stalking him for romantic intentions are.. intriguing.
He smiles. “I am.”
The rest is history.
Bruce needed a break.
He'd worked on one damn case for nearly a month, and he's drained. Gone are the days where he'd push through, insisting Gotham needed him. Why else would he form an army of children if not the give them the keys and let them have a field day.
Bruce owns a 2-story lakehouse on one of Metropolis' many islands. Did he originally buy it so that Luthor couldn't? Yes. But now, it seems like the perfect vacation spot to settle and unwind for a week or two. He asked Alfred to accompany him, to which the butler reminded him of the hell that would break loose if he did.
It was the perfect time, truly. The sun was no too hot but warm enough for a good tan. The lakehouse didn't need much of a cleanup, and there were plenty of books to entertain. What's more is that the water was almost clear this time of year, enticing in every aspect.
Bruce tugs on him swimming briefs and, after a quick sunbathing session, walks down the dock. He sits at its edge, dipping his toes in the cool water with a sigh. This was the life. If he didn't have to do Batman stuff, this is where he'd be, 365 days a year.
He had to give it to Metropolis, their weather was-- what was that? Bruce scrambles to look over the dock's edge but is met with his own reflection is the clear water. Bruce swears he felt something brush against his foot, something solid.
Maybe that's enough of the water for today. He'd come back tomorrow, maybe go for a swim. He'd just answer emails for the rest of the day.
As he walked back to the house, he failed to turn and spot the pair of sky blue eyes watching him, the being's fins trilling softly, stirring the water, captivated by him.

Kal had always been attracted to pretty things. It is in his nature. He has observed it in humans too. When he'd been in that terrible aquarium, tight cage and stale food, he'd always been the center of attention : Metropolis' biggest merman. He'd spent his earliest days being cared for by a couple, who raised him to be nice to humans, but he was only ever nice with them. His fierce protectiveness over Martha and Jonathan Kent had resulted in 2 employees being hurt. That was when they decided Kal was too big to continue caring for.
With no preparation or easing into, they released Kal into the wild, inviting hundreds to view the programme. Kal had been excited to explore the new waters, yes, but when he returned to where they'd released him, he was alone.
He roamed the waters, made friends with beings in water, even other merman and mermaids, but he never truly belong. Even Atlantis, as welcoming as they'd been, had not been the right fit.
He found a lovely island to stay close to. It was secluded but the shore was sandy, no rocks to cut himself against. He could shuffle onto it and relax for a few hours before dipping back into the water. That's become his new life.
Until he heard noises one day, from the house a small distance from his favorite resting place. His sensitive ears picked up on footsteps and words similar to what Martha and Jonathan spoke. He'd not learned much of the language; just enough to entertain.
It took a few hours of waiting before the human finally emerged. A beautiful human. Kal gaped in awe as the man laid down on the sand, right where Kal always did. Skin as pale as the moon, hair balck as stones yet shining in the sun, hands smaller than Kal's splayed out at his sides. Kal felt his tail wiggle in excitement under the water.
When the man got up to wlak down the dock, Kal his under it. He could only resists for so long, and when the man dipped his feet into the water, Kal reached out. The skin looked so soft, Kal yearned to feel it. The moment he did, the feet disappeared. Soon after, so did the man.
Kal didn't dare follow. He watched from where he could, waiting. He wanted this man, as his mate. He yearned. He would not give up so easily.
