Cybersecurity: Rebuilding U.S.-EU Trust

International collaboration to defend against cyber-attacks requires trust. Two years after the leaks that showed the U.S. National Security Agency spied on America’s European allies, the U.S. and Europe still need to rebuild that trust, says Carsten Casper, a Gartner managing vice president based in Berlin.
“Losing this trust between partners for the processing of confidential data and intellectual property or … personal data, that’s a really critical thing; that’s what we need to tackle: re-establishing this trust between partners,” Casper says in an interview with Information Security Media Group at the Gartner Security and Risk Management Summit in National Harbor, Md.
