#Make Racists Scared Again 2026
Share if you want people to know they should be scared to be racist around you 👊🏾
"making them afraid will make them more racist" that's wild to me, because we live in a whole culture of social consequences for antiracism anyway. It is literally safer to be a racist than it is to speak up against it, socially.
Idk about you, but "I'm afraid no one will want to be my friend if I'm a white supremacist" seems like a pretty logical thought process to have, and I wish THAT were the normal and not "I'm afraid my friends will hate me if I tell them they made racist jokes".
Hell yeah CLRG!
the fact that the youtube app has selecting the resolution of the video you're watching under "advance settings" makes me feel. well. I don't know entirely what it makes me feel but it's under the umbrella of Bad
I see all of those scaremongering posts about how Kids These Days Don't Even Know How File Folders Work Because Big Tech Doesnt Want Them To Know... and I'm like I think you're exaggerating a bit I don't think there's a big conspiracy to prevent people from developing basic computer literacy. I think the average person is smart enough to learn basic stuff about operating a computer regardless of how idiotproof digital systems become for marketing purposes. then I see that the biggest video platform in the world doesn't trust its average viewer with the responsibility of Picking One Of Three Or Four Options From A List and it's like okay well maybe they actually do want you to feel like an insane poindexter freak for wanting even the slightest bit of input into how the things on your devices function. I don't think knowing what a resolution is and clicking on the one you want should be considered Advanced. I don't think we need to obfuscate what we mean by better or worse picture quality. I think people can be trusted with that one.
all of those are brown
So the photo used as the header is just a random stock photo, but further down in the article they share the actual source of the information from the park officials on Instagram.
Which is rather purple, but not nearly as nice and clear due to being taken on a cellphone.
@veliseraptor
'A popular fanfic author stopped updating her fic because she said that the stress of being constantly falsely accused of using AI was a witch hunt and it was destroying her mental health to the extent that she needed to take a break from writing, leading to multiple online discussions defending her and debates about AI accusations and how You Can't Really Tell So Leave Her Alone, and then someone realised that there were Claude coding artefacts in her fics and that it was a super pervasive problem in that particular fandom, proven definitively by looking at the source coding of each work on AO3, and she denied it for a bit but then ultimately admitted that oopsie, she had been using genAI all along, and then she deleted all of her fics off AO3 and people got mad because they were being denied access to their favourite fics, even though they now knew definitively that they were genAI slop, and then it turned out that she'd actually stopped updating the fic on AO3 in the first place because she'd been shopping it around to agents and editors as an original work with the serial numbers filed off, and she'd been in conversations with a publisher which ultimately got dropped because she'd lied to them about her AI use' oh cool, so we're in Hell, then
Let me be clear: if you use AI to write fanfic, paticularly if you do so in the hopes of snapping up a tradpub deal off the basis of the popularity of your worthless slop, then you are an absolute grade A ding-dong, and may the vengeful spirits of our beloved Spirk Elders haunt you via the medium of perpetual papercuts forevermore.
I am unaware of who this is referring to and feel like a small fishing boat that just saw the dorsal fin of Leviathan off the starboard bow
That is so extremely valid, and truly I wish that I had not myself plunged into the depths and seen the truth of the Leviathan (a gigantic plastic fish effigy that's broken off a derelict Fish & Chip shop and washed into the Atlantic: a harbinger of doom in its own synthetic tongue)
"we teach kids about sex at 13-16, any earlier and it can actually scare them" protestant american spotted!! We learned in grade 5 (age 10) and I knew what it was for years prior uwu
When I was 8 I fully knew what sex was and the sum total of my thoughts was "that sounds gross. Hey can I play Pokemon now"
Any kid who has unfixed pets or lives in the general vicinity of a farm knows what sex is by the time they're five or six. I knew about it at four because I have a little sister and my parents were normal about explaining what the hell was going on with my mom's abdomen, why we were prepping the house for a baby and when she'd be arriving.
My thoughts on the matter were mostly "Oh yeah, like on PBS Nature. Cool. I'm gonna go dig a hole for fun now."
To add to this, when I was being taught in 4th grade, up until that point anything relating to the subject of sex ed was heavily censored; so for our very first day of sex ed, we were going in blind.
My classmates and I had such a terrible reaction to the information because you could tell that,
a.) the teachers were uncomfortable and b.) it was explained to us in a very dramatic and grotesque way.
This is a perfect example of how censorship and mishandling information can cause reactions that specific groups of people claim are accurate for all children. It was almost comical how when we reached middle school sex ed, you could tell which of us had that experience and who didn't.
Fast forward to when I worked as a babysitter, the 6 and 3 year olds I was caring for asked me to read them a book on where babies come from.
Children value transparency and recognize when something is stigmatized.
[Image ID: Summary of Class Action Complaint:
There is a social credit system operating inside the American job market right now and no one told you about it. If you've applied for a job in the last few years and couldn't even get an interview, this might be why. A class action complaint just exposed the company running it. The company is called Eightfold Al. Over 100 major employers use it, including Microsoft, PayPal, Starbucks, Morgan Stanley, Chevron, and Bayer. When you submit a job application to any of these companies, Eightfold's Al activates in the background without your knowledge. It scrapes your social media profiles, your Linkedin, your GitHub, your location data, your cookies, your internet and device activity, and cross-references all of it against a proprietary database of 1.5 billion data points on people worldwide. It then scores you from 0 to 5 on your "likelihood of success" and ranks you against every other applicant. If you score low, your application is discarded before a human being ever sees it. You are never told Eightfold exists. You are never told your data is being scraped. You are never shown your score. You are never given the chance to review or dispute the information used against you. You don't even know there's a report. You just apply, wait, and get an automated rejection two days later, like one of the plaintiffs in this case, a woman with a master's degree and over a decade of experience who applied to Microsoft and never made it past the algorithm. Source: Kistler et al v. Eightfold Al Inc., Class Action Complaint, filed January 2026, Superior Court of California, County of Contra Costa.

Elsewhere in the reblogs, @magnetictapedatastorage added this blog post for context:
The Eightfold AI lawsuit exposed what happens when companies treat employment decisions like ad targeting — and why the fix requires enginee
I’ve seen people pass around the “hold up, I’m googlin’ something” image but it cropped out the part where he was googling “how many guys can one guy take”
this page, in isolation, is possibly the funniest thing i have seen in any manga
we have to stop moralizing the human condition and start jerking each other off while making out
I have had so many bad takes on this post and not only is this a breath of fresh air, I’m gonna kiss you for it, you get me
A lot of you on here sure don’t like the idea of making any kind of sacrifice for the benefit of others huh
Some of you act like doing minor inconvenient acts of kindness is equivalent to donating a kidney as if it’s not those acts that form our communities and make the world go around.
Return your grocery cart. If you’re able-bodied offer your seat to someone who is not. Help your friend move. Drive your sister to the airport. Make sure drunk people have a safe ride or walk home. Pet-sit for your coworker. Participate in a meal train. Volunteer in your area. That’s what friendship and community is about.
Some Poké babies
I almost forgot to mention: this woman came into the penguin enclosure with a KESTREL??? I said “oh my god is that an American Kestrel?” and she said “Yes! She was outside doing raptor education for the kids, but she doesn’t like to get rained on.”
#she was watching the penguins with what I will anthropomorphically project as skepticism
kestrel: i hate rained on!!
human: here is birds in water
kestrel: ......no.....
Mr. Darcy is devastatingly cute in his coat

what if they get back to erid only for grace to discover that rocky has like. a crazy rap sheet. extensive eridian criminal record. he's stolen everything it's possible to steal. there was a huge brouhaha when he got elected to the petrova line mission because it's basically like if danny ocean had been really really good at fixing shit and so they decided to send him to the moon. he's been arrested approximately 12,000 times for public indecency. grace is like (still not over the clothes thing) so i'm NOT the only guy you like to be fully naked around. i see how it is. and rocky has to reform his image and only do his nudist thing around grace to save his bug marriage. the fact that he came back from space married to a bug is somehow entirely unsurprising to the entire planet, who mostly assumed he'd stolen the blip-A and made off with it and that was why no one came back for 50 years. grand theft spaceship. grace visiting rocky's cave like wow cool jewel artwork or whatever and rocky's like yes yes. if anyone asks you've never seen it.
