I’ve had many comments, messages and sometimes complaints about the cow’s udder and its visibility. I wanted to take a little time to explain why I will not change anything about the cow’s design.
Like all mammals, the cow has mammary glands (breasts). These exist to feed children with milk after they’re born. It’s handy and it’s wonderful! Did you know that every mammal’s milk has a different composition of nutrients and fat percentage? It all depends on what the species need the most when growing up. :)
Although humans have sexualised female breasts and therefore censured them in many places, this does not mean that mammary glands are in any way graphic sexual organs, and that we need to hide them or have to pretend that they do not exist. Especially in non-human animals this is pretty extreme!
TL;DR - Cows have udders and use these to feed their children milk. I don’t find that obscene in any way, which is why I won’t remove or hide udders from my cow designs.
