I like to see them all together âď¸
You know on this most joyous of days , I know people will come with the usual âWe shouldnât celebrate someoneâs deathâ and I say we ABSOLUTELY should
Letâs all remember that the man , and others like him wake up every day and decide theyâre going to harm your friends , your family , innocents who have no way to defend themselves against the power they all wield . And they gladly do so to get a little more powerful than the day before
They donât get to expect humanity when theyâve spent their miserable lives depriving us of our own
So by all means , be tasteless. Decide what dance to do on his grave .He may be replaced by another viper , but for now the worlds a somewhat better place for him being gone
đłď¸âđ my first pride artwork this year đłď¸âđ
No pairing was requested as often as Catradora. And Iâm actually quite surprised that Iâve never created fan art for this fantastic series.
Requests are still open until June 20th; you can continue sending in your suggestions until then.

Broads and Broadswords is a charity zine and a celebration of varied women, varied genders, and the swords and blades that love them. All proceeds from the Broads and Broadswords zine will be split between the Transgender Law Center and Point of Pride.
By reblogging this post you are also a part of our GIVEAWAY! gonna post my entire stickman reaction pic collection
I DO think tumblr's dev team has been instructed to constantly implement new features and that's why they keep tweaking the UI in goofy ways. I imagine this is an upper management thing, so even if we say "well don't change anything and just maintain the status quo" they'll continue to make other changes anyway.
I will admit I REALLY like the recent improvements they've added to tumblr's search (you can exclude terms now!! you can search multiple tags!! and time frames!!) so it's not like they're incapable of adding useful features. it might be mutually beneficial for us as users if we were more vocal about things we want and don't want. Some features I'd like to see added:
spoilerable text
spoilerable images
the return of hover text!! remember when we had that?
ability to embed videos in reblogs
ANIMATED GIF ICONS!!!!!!!!!!!!
the ability to turn off other people's animated gif icons
the ability to filter original posts on a user's ENTIRE blog, not just a tag/search
more html support, like what if we could build tables
adding reactions to replies! I'm glad we can like them more but it'd be nice if we could take this further
embeddable tiktoks?? I don't even use tiktok but I remember trying to embed one in like 2020 and I'm surprised we still can't! even vines were able to be embedded
being able to search in your DMs. not being able to do this is why I tend to redirect mutuals to discord
MUTING USERS POSTS/COMMENTS WITHOUT BLOCKING THEM! just cause I don't want to see someone's posts doesn't mean I don't want us to never interact ever
a mutual-only dashboard feed
a feed for the blogs you're subscribed to
get rid of tumblr tv lmao I've literally never used it
"mark as read" button for communities without opening them
please dear god no AI shit unless it's a way for me to filter/block it easier
several of these I've submitted support tickets for under "feedback", and if there's anything you feel strongly about I suggest you do too!
It has come to my attention that some of you have not actually seen the music video for Ghengis Khan by Miike Snow so I've taken it on myself to end your ignorance of this piece of cinema
The greatest cinematic experience of 2016, weren't you watching?
They"re all but @-ing me on twitter
Every time I am puzzling through an email that Iâm not sure how to compose, I really do understand why ppl turn to ai, why plugging it in and getting an answer in moments is attractive. Itâs an email I donât want to write, and Iâd rather be doing something else. I do, I understand.
But I need you to look at me and I need you to understand that even stupid ass emails that you donât want to write are important in that it makes you think. You struggle through an email you donât know how to formulate and you have that information for next time thereâs a hard email. Itâs compound knowledge, and every time you stretch your brain even for the boring, menial stuff, itâs giving you more ways to navigate this world with your own mind. Keep thinking, keep growing your skills outside of quick-fix automation. Itâs important.

For those who don't contain a vast knowledge of Green Day lore like myself, I don't think it is hitting just how much of a "fuck you" the NFL is giving djt/the white house. This is a band that is:
Made entirely of openly bisexual/queer men
Made entirely of men who are vocal about being raised by single mothers on welfare
One of their members was adopted and raised by a Black woman and has said he "understands how his mother could hate 'the white man' and love him with her whole soul.
Were the first band to say, "No Trump, No KKK, No Fascist/MAGA U.S.A." on live television without ANY warning.
Literally released a song last year called, "The American Dream Is Killing Me"
Only hires ALL FEMALE bands to open for them to address inequality in the music industry
OPENLY tells trump supporters they are not welcome at their concerts.
Anyway, Enjoy Feb. 8th Magats! You're gonna hate it. :)
I see this post all the time and I'm so confused. Most people throughout history were busier than your average resident of a developed country is now. My primary reaction to reading about the past since I was a child has been "I'm glad I don't live then, I'm too weak for that, I could not do that much work all the time."
In the past things took longer to do but they often required a waiting period. You had to chop wood, put it in your stove, and light it, but it took a few hours for it to get hot enough for baking and then another hour for the bread to fully cook. History books will say things like "It took 4 hours to make a loaf of bread" but they don't mention that you only had to do actual work for a fraction of that time and the rest could be devoted to other tasks or relaxing for a while
Employee workload has doubled or tripled because of modern technology. It makes things faster but also creates less downtime which employers have filled with more responsibilities. You can do more work in a 10 minute period if all the files are on the computer but in the olden days you got to take a short walk to the filing cabinet and let your mind wander while you thumbed through folders, which means a modern 10 minutes of work is more mentally exhausting. The amount of work one employee has to do today used to be split between 2 or 3 people. We lost those moments of downtime we used to get by having to do things the slow way
sometimes i still can't believe this is a real episode of television that actually exists
itâs december 1 whereâs the christmas tail kitten bring him to me

purge of 2002? of 2012? what ARE those?
Oh, how quickly the past is forgotten.Â
They are part of the reason A03 is a thing now. Not the whole reason, but part of it.Â
The Great Purges of 2002 and 2012 are when ff.net got a wild hair up their ass about THINK OF THE CHILDREN and nuked any fic posted on there that was explicit. Thousands upon thousands of nc-17 smutfics were lost.
Itâs what led to the creation of alternate hosting sites for smutty ficâŚAdultFanfiction was the one I went toâŚbut thousands of fics would never be recovered.Â
Shit like the Great Purges and the Strikethrough of Livejournal eventually led to fans banding together to create A03, which I would have absolutely KILLED for when I was 15.
Back up ao3 was created by fans?
ItâsâŚright on the main page.Â
I love this because I will bet you that persefv has read that bit we are all so inundated with hyperbole and advertising that says that the consumer is somehow in charge of whatever product they are shilling that we all just assumed this was another sales tactic.
But weâre not even⌠selling anythingâŚÂ *quiet sobs*
No ads. No subscriptions. No data selling.
We are the definition of âwhat it says on the tin.â
Is there any way to spread this info?Â
THE OTW WAS CREATED BY FANS SO WEâD HAVE AN ARCHIVE THAT WASNâT SUBJECT TO CORPORATE REVIEW.Â
Nonprofit, so that nobody could ever say, âthis isnât making enough money; itâs getting shut down.â (See: Geocities, Quizilla, Figment, G+.) With lawyers involved and a firm awareness of the legalities of fanfic, so nobody would decide âweâve gotten a nasty letter from a megacorporation with lawyers, so weâre hiding because we canât afford to face a lawsuit. (Jedi Hurtaholics, Trevizoâs Millennium site.) With teams, so that an argument between co-mods didnât result in the destruction of a whole archive. (Gryffindor Tower, Detention.)
AO3 IS OUR SITE.
It is by fans, for fans. Fans do all the coding. All the legal paperwork. All the abuse/tos violation complaints. Fans make all the choices about policies. Fans decide how to run the fundraisers. Fans write the blog posts. All the volunteer staff are fans; all the people who train them are fans. Fans wrangle all the tags.Â
(And the other OTW projects, too. Fans manage the entries at Fanlore. Fans run the Open Doors project. Fans publish Transformative Works and Cultures.)
EVERYONE WORKING FOR THE OTW LOVES FANDOM. Wants it to survive. Wants it to be awesome for everyone.
(Knows that it canât be awesome for everyone; some approaches to fandom just clash hard. But they strive to minimize those clashes as much as possible, because they love fandom.)Â
AO3 is not some company that decided, âweâll make a site for fanfic and thenâŚâ I donât know what people are thinking is the reason. Money? Data harvesting? Tax shelter? Amusement and pity?
Nope; AO3 was fans saying, âLivejournal sucks; weâre tired of this fucked-up ârebuild every three yearsâ garbage; WE NEED TO OWN THE DAMN SERVERS.â
Thatâs the âof our ownâ part of the name. OTW isnât a âthemâ running the site âfor us.â Itâs âusâ making places for âusâ to share what we love with others of âus.âÂ
what is HAPPENING
Hey guys, with so much love, and as someone with an actual English degree:
Please just use Sparknotes if you're going to do this. I get it. I do. But chatgpt or other genAI shit doesn't actually know what's important for you to know, and in some cases it might fully make shit up. Use sparknotes. Failing that, talk to someone who did read it. I'm begging.
oh my god, there's whole books series that ALREADY do that. Have they never heard of the No Fear series published by Sparknotes? It puts a plain everyday english translation on the opposite page from the original text, plus character lists with descriptions and helpful commentary.
stop using AI for things that already exist!
