I'm all for radicalization like the government and society are fucked. But they put baby formula in locked cases because it is used to make meth. The store does this to keep an eye out if someone is buying way too much. Like waaaaay too much.

No. They lock it up because hungry babies need it and there is a thriving market for stealing baby formula because people will pay good money to guarantee their babies don’t starve.

You can’t make meth out of baby formula. Do you really think that the miracle invention of a substitute for breast milk can somehow become meth? Like, really think about this one. Chew on it like babies can’t because they don’t have teeth and are completely dependent on their adult caretakers. Do you really, truly believe that millions of people feed their infant children a crucial component in METHAMPHETAMINE?

Let’s say you do believe that. Fine. I can’t fix whatever’s wrong with you. Let’s say that millions of parents wake up every morning and decide to give their baby meth ingredients for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Should that baby be allowed to starve because you think there’s a chance someone could make meth?

Is it so important to you that meth stops existing that we should let living, breathing infants DIE? Because that’s the trade-off that you need to understand you are making. You say “less meth! Even if babies have to die!”

So, to be clear, most cis people don't actually think that gender affirming care works.

This is made evident in a lot of different ways.

One of those ways is how when cis people talk about someone's transition, they talk about it as if it happened in a day. Like, when a trans person talks about their transition, they usually say "I started transitioning in [date]". Where as the cis person will say "X transitioned in [date]".

They think transition is surgery. It's a surgery. They think trans people go under, get bottom surgery, breast implants and ffs all in one go and wake up all transitioned.

They think it's possible to change the shape of your body, but not its function. It's all superficial, just changing your appearance. You might even look like the opposite gender, but nothing meaningful actually changed. You have breasts now? That doesn't mean you can ever produce milk. And if you do something so you can? That milk would probably be harmful to a baby.

That's why you'll never be a woman.

As if we don't know that TWERFs stick to the fact that trans women don't have utureses as the ultimate undeniable proof that we are not actually women. Do you think if medical technology ever changes so that we can get uteri grown from stem cells, suddenly they'll accepted that we are now women?

Another way this is evident is in how cis people will deny the trans themes in a story where someone either swaps bodies of someone of the opposite gender or is magically transformed into the opposite gender.

And the trans themes are there whether this is a rather unfortunate event for the character or the best thing that could've happened. Whether they are going to do everything in their power to revert the change or maybe be more ambivalent about it while also refusing every chance to change back.

And if you suggest there is something trans about that story, you're insulting the character. Obviously that stems from transphobia. But it's because the character actually transformed into the opposite gender, unlike trans people, who will always be the gender they were assigned at birth, no matter what they did to their bodies.

Yet another way we see this emerge is in how trans women are often portrayed by cis men. It doesn't matter what you actually did to transition. It's still basically the same as being a man in a dress.

and like, maybe other people had a different experience with this and were more informed from the get go, but for me, a big part of the reason why I only started transitioning when I was almost thirty is because for a really long time before that I really didn't believe it was possible to get the results I wanted. I only read up on what the actual effects of HRT were AFTER I came to terms with the fact that I was trans, because before that, I didn't see the point. And let me tell you, when I finally did I thought it had to be too good to be true. There was not way it would actually do all of that.

I thought the best I could hope for was to be like one of those cis guys who are portraying a trans woman. And I thought that would be worse than not transitioning at all. Ultimately, I still had to come to terms with the fact that I might still not get the results I wanted if I transitioned, but I got pretty lucky in the end,

And this leads to yet another way I know cis people don't think gender affirming care works.

When I came out to my mother, she thought it was a great idea for me to talk to a therapist, but she didn't think I was actually trans. As I started taking steps she conceded that I was indeed trans, but it was clear in a lot of little ways that she didn't think I was actually a woman. I was more of a third gender.

You see my mother can be very shallow. She will comment on pretty much everyone's appearance. If she sees someone making a really good point on TV, she will still feel the need to point out that they are really ugly though. Or really attractive. She'll make a comment either way. And even though she considers herself a feminist, she scrutinizes women's appearances even more.

She confessed to me after I started electrolysis and finally got rid of those dark hairs right under my nose that the laser just couldn't touch, that she didn't think I would be able to get rid of them. Because ultimately she really didn't believe it would work. In the end she did start seeing me as a woman, but it's because I looked the part. I was up to her standards. In the end why prefix with trans or cis? A woman is a woman.
