this might piss some people off but I donât think some of you actually ever tried to unlearn your hatefulness. you just came out as queer and decided your new targets really truly deserve it this time.

imagine lemony snicket narrating your transition, though.
Rachel said, âIâm cis, butââ a phrase which here means âI have a very large surprise waiting for me later in lifeâ.Â
âPerhaps you have been influenced by all the transtrenders,â opined Mrs Scorseby. âTranstrendersâ here refers to a small group of people who, for reasons quite beyond Mrs Scorseby, enjoy dressing up in particular sorts of specialized undergarments and avoiding various gristly and untimely demises at the hands of local gender authorities.â
Gender is a very complicated business for some people. Many people live their whole lives as the same gender they started with, in the same way many people are fortunate enough to remain in the same house in which they were born, a house which never burns down or goes into foreclosure or finds itself due to be invaded by mysterious operatives with nefarious purposes. But some rare and unlucky people wake up one day to an urgent and undeniable phone call, and after that there is simply nothing else to do but throw anything that comes to hand into a rucksack and take off for the Scottish highlands in a false beard.Â
im being so serious when i say this but we need to bring back the "my genitals are none of your business" "if gender is whats in my pants then my gender is some loose change" mentality from the late 2010's because too many people on here are openly flirting with exclusionary people who spout enbyphobic rhetoric. stop caring about what people's agabs are you assholes. they literally mean nothing. they're not a zodiac sign or indicative of people's character. you are not wholly pure or wholly evil because of your assigned sex. you're just a person.
sometimes it feels like being nonbinary is about having to decide which way you'd prefer to be misgendered.
i hate that nonbinary people can't be, like, nonbinary.
whatever we do, we can't win. we can't be seen as actually nonbinary. people binarize us and often mock us or get aggressive or dismiss and ignore our nonbinaryhood or something else.
if we don't medically transition, we are "just cis trenders."
if we do medically transition, we are "just [binary trans] eggs."
we are "technically transmasc or transfem anyways" if we don't use these terms.
we are lumped together with binary trans men and trans women if we do use these terms. our nonbinaryhood is ignored or seen as some kind of "gender-lite."
we are aggressively pressured to disclose if we're AFAB or AMAB, TMA or TME, transmasc or transfem, "boy nonbinary" or "girl nonbinary." and if we refuse to answer, people get double mad at us and pick something for us anyways.
if we show the slightest hint of something that could be interpreted as binary gendered, we are immediately binarised.
if we put a lot of effort into looking the most ambiguous or androgynous or neutral, people still try to find something. and they become aggressive. people often EXPLODE [PT: explode] when they can't gender someone by glance.
our ways of expression are constantly mocked and ignored (like neopronouns, nonbinary-centering labels for gender and orientation, basically all things that are associated with nonbinary people).
but if we choose more typical ways of expression (for example, use "he/him" or "she/her" pronouns), people use it to ignore and dismiss our nonbinaryhood.
we just can't win, and it's upsetting.
Booksmith sells online! They even have book mystery boxes based on other books you love. Let's show them (and others) that they made a good business AND moral choice.
Someone said they "don't tolerate any oppression" yet they like Marauders and HP. Like, okay buddy... You sure about that?
how to draw trans characters!
the way that people who use multiple pronouns have to meticulously calculate how to present those pronouns or else get constantly misgendered.
like my pronouns are she/they. i actually prefer she over they, but want them to be used an equal amount. if i tell cishets that my pronouns are she/they, i get called âsheâ 100% of the time. if i tell them my pronouns are they/she, i get called âsheâ 99% of the time. so iâve started having to tell people my pronouns are strictly they/them JUST to get called she and they an almost equal amount.
i shouldnât have to do this. we shouldnât have to do this. this is exorsexism.
this is exorsexism
Didn't expect it to hit so hard, so many of us don't have the sort of relationship we deserve to have with our own parentsâshoutout to the moms, they're doing such important work đ
Games not EVERRRR having gender neutral options, or if they do they forcibly androgynize you đ
Bonus points if the game has nonbinary pride stuff but still only gives you male and female player options
this is exorsexism
some people's tendency to act like trans + amab = transfem and trans + afab = transmasc is so irritating please stop
this is exorsexism
firstly, presentation doesnt equal gender, if a nonbinary person looks feminine but says they're nonbinary, then guess what? THEYRE FUCKING NONBINARY
secondly, yes if you dont use a persons preferred pronouns because they don't look a certain way then yes you are a transphobe
thirdly, based on the example, mark is a transphobe. can you imagine if after you misgendered and deadnamed a trans woman you called her a "shemale"? we can all understand how that's transphobic but its not when done to an enby? double standard much?
Itâs clear that some trans people genuinely think the only issue with legal definitions equating binary sex and gender are how it affects sex-segregated or gender-segregated spaces.
Nonbinary and intersex people are defined out of existence in almost every anti-trans bill Iâve ever read but so many of yâall only talk about how these bills affect binary perisex trans people. As if you either think these bills have no impact on nonbinary and intersex people, or you think that impact is so unimportant itâs not even worth a footnote.
Defining the legal gender/sex binary has had massive implications and impacts on nonbinary and intersex people. Itâs not a âmild side effectâ within these bills. These binaries are enforced on purpose to eradicate us.
Love hearing Taylor say "we weren't trying to make any points about gender but like...it's not a big deal...." and stick to it and let the other people on the Eras Tour decide what they're comfortable with
I truly hope this is one of the things that becomes like the normal in touring (or just in general)
