Looking for another gay horror podcast to fill the void that other gay horror podcasts have created? Look no further! Welcome to Derleth Isle, a totally normal lighthouse with a totally normal history! Surely putting a bunch of queer idiots on here will have good results :)

About the creators!

The show is a passion project co-written and produced by Maddie (she/her) and Phinn (he/him, also @phinnking). What started as a silly idea has now completely consumed our lives. Please help.

Purpose of the blog!

This blog is mainly for our vague ramblings, self-made art, production updates, and promotional content. Feel free to interact in any way (so long as it's respectful. we are simply little guys in a fishtank do not poke the glass) or just follow to come along for the ride!

So writers joke a lot about "drinking the tears of our readers", but I want to be so honest with you when I tell you that making you cry isn't our real goal. Making you feel is.

Winter often leaves me at a loss for motivation, but I think it would help to announce that season one scripts are officially in production! Nearly every scene is mapped out, and rough drafts for the first couple episodes are complete/underway. Ideally there should updates to come :))

Maddie's Intro!

So I heard I was supposed to make a little intro for myself even though I've never used tumblr once in my life, so don't say I didn't warn you. Hii, my name's Maddie (she/her), and I am currently co-writing this project alongside another literature nerd who is also just as deeply obsessed with this as I am (brainstorm a podcast, they said. It'll be fun, they said). But, seriously, I am so excited for this to develop further you have no idea.

I suppose I should actually start my intro now. I'm an 18 yr old who was given access to romantic novels at a far too early stage in my brain development. I'm asexual-panromantic and currently on a gap year saving up to become an english major at uni next year. I love chai tea lattes, Pride and Prejudice, and characters that I feel so connected to it borders on hazardous to the public. I'm actually a wuss when it comes to horror content but I am also totally obsessed with The Magnus Archives and novels such as The Spirit Bares It's Teeth. PSA: If a plot point in this project is at all fluffy, you can pretty much guarantee I was the one who had something to do with it.

Phinn's intro!

Hey, my name's Phinn (he/him)! I'm a co-writer/producer for this project. Just some general info about me, I'm 18 years old, I'm trans and pansexual, and I'm a history major in uni atm. I'm a huge fan of horror as a genre and will consume horror media in basically any form. Some fav's are What Moves The Dead (book), Silence of the Lambs (movie), The Magnus Archives (podcast), The Mandela Catalogue (web series), and anything Edgar Allen Poe.

I started working on this project kinda as a fun silly thing to do in my free time and it has since spiraled into a full-time project that I've managed to rope almost every single one of my friends into (if any of you are reading this, you're welcome and i'm sorry)! I'll probably doing most of the posting here since I'm far more familiar with tumblr than Maddie but I have a feeling she will be posting far funnier things than me whenever she does. Any posts by me will be tagged #phinnking
