🎪 Welcome to the circus! 🎪
You have stumbled behind the curtain of my two decades long fanfiction habit. 2025 marks the 20th anniversary of the first fanfiction I ever finished - a Lord of the Rings Mary Sue and Legolas romance that was the right of passage for all teen girls on livejournal and the fledgling fanfic.net. After a long hiatus from publicly sharing any of my writing and working diligently on my almost 3,500 bookmark catalogue on AO3, I returned to my roots as a writer again in 2023 with a focus on video games that made me want more.
This blog is necessarily multi-fandom, because it is about my writing and I write whatever the muses give me. My writing is a mixture of ratings, and readers are expected to use good judgment and avoid works that are not appropriate for their age or interests. We work on the Old Rules here of curating your own experience and respecting that not every piece of writing will work for every person. I'm a queer woman with loved ones in every shape, color, and size, and bigotry of any form will find itself decidedly unwelcome.
BUT! If you have genuine questions about my writing, about the evolution of fan works over the past twenty years, or about how to navigate keeping a hobby you love into adulthood when the world wants to call it childish, please know my door is open to you. I was raised into fandom by the original Star Trek and LOTR fandoms who spearheaded the transition to digital spaces, and I want to pass that on to the next generation as much as possible. Genuine questions about how AI harms your skills as a writer are also welcome - I write professionally in my IRL job as well as my primary hobby, and I can bring receipts for the fact that cutting corners as a writer atrophies the brain power and creativity you need to make art.
