A roar, followed quickly by a bombastic raucous laughter, erupts from the bathroom, following Renji’s scolding. “Ya like it, Red !” and, for a second, the bathroom’s door opens, only for Grimmjow to flip the bird - two birds actually to be exact - at Renji, right before he closes the door again in a loud clash. 

Actually, Jaggerjack is still not done, his rough sun-tanned skin scarcely rinsed and cleaned only, when the door is opened again, this time by Renji bringing him fresh clean clothes. "Ooooh rreally ?..." Grimmjow throws him a savage toothy grin, while he's still trying to get rid of the heavy layer of dirt and blood on his scarred muscular forearms. His gravelly voice turns smokier, even seductive though right after. "Ya know... could use a littl' help... here n dere..." He's clearly referring to his back, to his torso. And the beastly grin on his brash mouth turns into the most seductive smile. Until he starts laughing, ending his own joke himself. "Just messin' with ya. Get yer ass outta here before I kick it Red"

He stares, unimpressed as Grimmjow makes the proposal. “Do ya need help or not? Cuz if ya need it, I don’t mind helpin’ ya out.” Renji was quite accustomed to seeing other men in the nude - as they had a large bathhouse on the squad barracks and most shinigami took advantage of it after a long day’s worth of work. It wasn’t odd to bathe together, in that aspect.

♛ As Renji finally got rid of the towel, the Pantera just barked a brutal laughter, like he had witnessed some comical scene. The laugh however was quickly followed by a somewhat heavy - or rather heavily annoyed - sigh. Then, Renji spoke and Grimmjow’s expression kinda froze for a second, before his sharp scarred face just went... strangely hollow ? Blank ?

“ Do you even understand ?”

Renji’s question seemed so important to him. “Understand” was surely the keyword. But the Sexta was no liar. To a fault, perhaps. To the point the truth was utterly and blatantly spurted out, tactlessly, no matter how much it could hurt. Jaggerjack’s whole absence of complex feelings or emotions or thinking regarding what was said the last night came out brutally. Like the Panther would throw a punch. Unvoluntarily though.

“ Nah. I fuckin’ really don’t.

The blue haired espada’s words came out clearly. To him, just words ; to Renji, perhaps a lot more, a lot worse. Something even maybe like a sentence, like a cruel disillusionment. Square strong jaws snapped once angrily, before they clenched strongly. Incomprehension. Of the beast looking at the human and being like what the hell do you want from me, human ? The nightmare of being trapped between two worlds, an endless reality for Grimmjow now.

- Ain’t ‘bout what I want !!! Jaggerjack suddenly roared, unblinking cerulean eyes riveted to Renji’s face, scrutinizing him like a predator, head slightly lowered, attentive, like a dog freezing and about to just blow up and attack, a whole attitude that screamed confrontation and combat ; he was switching from a somewhat human attitude to an animalistic one, because in fact he was really confused about whatever was going on and why what was just words to him, spoken last night, would change everything and therefore, was getting defensive. Made it quite fuckin’ clear what I want ! I want like before ! N’ I fuckin’ swear if I had known sayin’ dis woulda affected everythin’ like dis, I woulda shove dose fuckin’ words down yer fuckin’ throat !!!” ♛

♛ Jaggerjack had the most devastating and atrocious reaction, upon being confronted to Renji’s embarrassment, an embarrasment that anyone would have picked up and pinpointed easily, except of course the low-brow - whenever it’d come to interactions with humans and beings alike at least - down-to-earth, tactless and insensitive. At times like this, in the eyes of someone not knowing him well, the King could indeed appear cold, rude and even callous... ? Numb even maybe ?

“ Why’d ya clean dat shit ? Seriously... Grimmjow groaned in his gruff morning voice, raucous and still a bit hoarse, because of his dry throat, standing tall, hovering over Renji still cleaning the carpet the espada had actually soiled horribly. C’me on... Sum’ blood, mud n’ dirty guts ain’t gonna kill yer precious carpet, he snickered like a taunting hyena, cerulean eyes glowing mischievously and, as he pronounced these words, pretty sure he knew it was a blatant lie and the carpet was perhaps even already doomed.

Sniffing a little, pearls of water dropping on his naked scarred chest and broad shoulders, the Sexta sat on the couch where they had fallen asleep. Clearly not going to lend a hand. He seemed masticating something for a good minute, probably trying to take out the debris of sinews or bones still stuck between his fangs. A real charmer right...

The whole time Renji was literally losing himself and digging more and more his own grave the blue-haired killer was just staring at him, with no expression at all on his beastly yet strangely handsome face. As if he was saying silently to the redhead “Good... Ya done ? ‘Cause I don’t give a flyin’ fuck ‘bout whateva ya sayin’.”

- Cut da crap, Red, Grimmjow at some point brutally spat, his voice curt, sharp like a razorblade, unmistakably a very “Grimmjow-like” voice. Ya fuckin’ weird right now. Ya fuckin’ actin’ weird since last night, afta ya talked ‘bout dat shitty stuff happenin’ to ya in da past. Like it changed sumthin’ huh ? Didn’t change anythin’ fer me. I don’t give a fuck. So what’s dat “date” stuff now ? the Pantera exclaimed, slamming his clawed hands on his knees, just as scarred as his strong chest. ♛ Raucous gravelly groans of complaint echoed softly in the little space between them, the Pantera just being its grumpy self. Grumbling and ranting but never biting or even just snapping fangs threateningly. A quite patient huge feline against all odds. Big heavy paws put on his shoulders playfully or as if to put some distance for comfort between them, but still in a friendly calm manner.

The massive panther with one heavy sigh finally giving up the “fight”, surrendering to the small being, complying with his strange human requests of affection. Its reply to the gentle words would be one friendly lick, with that large rough tongue of his, across the redhead’s face, not covering him too much in sticky saliva like a dog’s tongue usually would. A way to also reassure instinctively Renji.

When able to move, the hunter jumped down the couch and started to roll over on the carpet, before frenetically doing it again and again, enjoying simply like the gigantic cat he was right not the friction against his dirty back. Abruptly, after some long seconds ruining the rug, the hollow eventually stopped this massacre and jumped onto his bloody paws to then make his way towards the bathroom, where Grimmjow reverted to this humanoid form he still hadn’t gotten quite used to to take a shower. Without asking the owner of the place beforehand of course. Being his usual douchebag egocentric self. Jaggerjack never took warm or hot showers ; he’d only use cold water. The droplets hitting his naked well-built and scarred form - so naked, so little hair, no fur on this weak skin - oh he hated it - this fresh water turning red as it leaked down his face, his torso and legs. 

Such a disgrace...

Getting out of the shower, after containing a punch of hardly internalized anger he wanted so badly to throw at the wall, Jaggerjack called Renji through the door he had just pushed, never bothering to lock it, intimacy not being a concept he really cared much about.

[i love this thread so much because the Grimmjow I love the most is the panther grimm, the animal, the core one i should say, so thank you for this thread <333]

♛ Grimmjow wasn’t truly fully understanding or even appreciating typical human gestures and demonstrations of affection, such as this whole “petting” thing. When Renji would thrown his arms around him or even gently touch him. Especially putting his arms around him, his neck or whatever part of him. It still felt a bit like a shackle, but he had learned to accept it. To tolerate it. n his world actually, such an offensive gesture would be considered as a lack of respect, a blatant one, almost an attack. But, among humans, it was the absolute opposite. This, Jaggerjack had slowly learned it, integrated it too. 

Like a wild animal learning another code of another species. Like a wild animal being slowly and patiently domesticated, the Panther was learning how humans lived.

There were days it annoyed him to no end. Days he wanted to growl, groan and even sometimes bite. But he knew that “his” human or shinigami at least didn’t mean any harm. Quite the contrary. So the King would tolerate. And the King at other less grumpy times would even quiet down under the attentions.

There was something unique about the look of a beast, of an animal. Like their soul was crucially fundamentally different. And they could stare at you for hours and hours with that soul-piercing steady attentive stare, but in a glimpse of a fugitive instant, still see more than a human would in years.

The feline creature was looking at the shinigami, as dawn slowly illuminated the room, a new day starting, the world still turning. The hunter patient, not budging a muscle, not even stretching out like cats, even gigantic ones like him, would. He’d stare at Renji like he was looking at him through a window opening onto another world. With a very complex mix of apprehension, interest, fear, anger and attraction. 

Heavy white chops curling, large bloody fangs appearing, but also a large rough tongue, as finally the Sexta decided if he couldn’t really move, he’d at least start to clean himself, licking his paws still bloody and dirty. ♛

♛ Jaggerjack hadn’t noticed much and, no matter how much resonance and solace he could have possibly found in another being he needed his time away. Often. Quite often. He needed to come and go. Something so deeply anchored in his animal primitive brain. Already so unnatural, so dangerous for the panther to return to one same spot - Renji’s home - something a hunter, a predator like him would never normally do.

Instead, the Pantera would live on the run.

Renji just had to count his stars the Sexta would return from time to time. What he ignored... was that, in the same way that the wind, the hunt, nature would call Grimmjow, the memory of the shinigami - once the wildest times, soaked in blood after a long hunt would be over - would call him to return home, to return by his sides. It was like a primal scream from the insides. No matter how long the road could be, he’d come back.

That night, Jaggerjack did hunt, did track down, kill and devour. But, at some point, he came across the place where it all begun. That curse that had changed him. The place where they had trapped and captured him to then transform him. Of course, the King hadn’t gone down quietly. Ready to fight for his freedom, ready to die for it, while totally unable to figure out what was happening all of a sudden and why these strangers were here, hurting him and trying to catch him. He never had asked for anything and he still remembered the burn of the magic ropes, the pain of the spells. And, above all, the massive and terrifying confusion he was in. With no idea of what they had in mind for him, what they were going to do to him.

They had brought him, drenched in his own blood but still resisting as much as he could, in a place where everything to him was foreign, a place a being like him should have never been within. Walls. Ceilings. A cage. It was a gigantic white cage. At the doors, he had given it one more fight, roaring and again trying to break free. In vain. They had tried to break him, to turn him into a docile pet. But deep down inside, the panther had never given up. 

Cerulean still animalistic eyes stared at clawed hands. Free, but not like before. Turning back into his panther form, his original form, which always gave him some comfort, he curled down on the sand to sleep, but he didn’t remain like this and quickly stood up on his four legs.

It was only one or two hours before dawn when the feline creature crawled into Renji’s home by the window, let open just for him for sure. Or maybe Renji was just that drunk today. The large massive white panther jumped softly, without a sound, on the couch, where the redhead was sleeping and curled around him in an instinctive protective reflex. To finally find sleep too. ♛

♛ Perhaps Jaggerjack felt it, perhaps he didn’t, considering how much alcohol had sunk in. But the espada’s resistance was quite high and he did feel it. The subtle gesture of affection from the shinigami. The muscular heavy body didn’t budge. The cerulean gaze seemed a lot darker than usual, like some heavy gloomy cloud had shadowed it. A cloud stemmed from haunting memories.

Grimmjow’s eyes rested for a brief second on the inebriated redhead, who clearly had indeed drunk enough for one night. And maybe a part of the next day to come. Hungover incoming surely.

Ya need to rest, dumbass. I need to run.

But how could he possibly run from himself ? From the body, the form he wanted to escape from ? Strangely, without him even fathoming it, there was some sort maybe of mental communion between him and Renji at this moment, for different, very different reasons. True to himself, the arrancar snickered after a short pause, large sharp canines flashing in the dim light, so pale compared to the darkening glance, after Abarai thanked him :

“ But I didn’t do anythin’. I gotta go too... the blue-haired hunter concluded, downing in one go his last drink, before standing up too. I’ll see ya tomorrow...” Grimmjow first said, more as a reflex, as a habit even, before his brain suddenly connected and realized that it was only a maybe, not a certitude.

The call of the wild was just stronger than anything. Whenever he’d go away, truth was the Sexta had no idea when he’d come back or if he’d ever come back at all. Renji had these times stood as some kind of anchor, a sentimental one.

An old saying used to say : “If you want something very, very badly, let it go free. If it comes back to you, it's yours forever. If it doesn't, it was never yours to begin.” 

Maybe Jaggerjack belonged to Renji in a way. Or he’d not be coming back over and over and over again. The most unpredictable beast needed to be trusted, had to be trusted, or it’d constantly flee.

Though, despite how carefree he appeared, Grimmjow couldn’t really ignore how anxious and worried and maybe even sad he was making the shinigami by disappearing like this for days, sometimes even weeks or months. Perhaps he prefered to turn a blind eye to it, since he couldn’t resist the thrill of the hunt, couldn’t repress the will to go.

♛ The Pantera almost felt the... disappointment ?... in Renji’s tone and attitude ; at least, the feline creature assimilated all the signals to a crude disillusion. Had Grimmjow’s reaction been a pure let-down ? What was the shinigami expecting from him ? A violent angry crazy rage ? A will to avenge him instantly ?

Jaggerjack swallowed the strong alcohol the waitress, with another cheeky smile, had just served him. If the woman had been eyeing him all night long, the hollow on the other hand hadn’t paid any attention to her. Still, a part of his conflicted brain was telling him over and over that he’d never get more than this with people not from his world. The beast, roaming free the deserts, hunting, only sleeping, eating, shitting, killing, fucking once in a while, would never fit in this society, never be able to satisfy a human or a shinigami’s - almost the same in his animal eyes, same confusing emotions - expectations.

“ Nah I get da power thing... Ya know dat... But just not done dat way. Ya know... from where I come from... as an adjucha, dere’s one thing or two ya outta do to show yer dominance over sumeon’ but it doesn’t go dat far, the Sexta shrugged evasively, snorting, nostrils sniffing, shivering as new odors along a new customer invaded the room, his senses of smell, of hearing were constantly on alert, fully functioning.

That was how a wild animal lived in the wilderness. Permanently aware of his surroundings, never letting his guard down. Even as he turned to face Renji, after scanning the new person entering the bar, his senses were still analyzing everything around them. All this suffering, all this trauma in Renji, besides, was totally stranger to the blue-haired espada.

- Shit happens... was all he could unfortunately say and what an awful thing to say, under such circumstances, but Grimmjow didn’t know better, remained totally clueless, as comforting was definitely not his forte.

Another sigh and sniff, another vigilant incisive glance thrown at the door opening again.

- N’ whinin’ ‘bout it or givin’ up on yerself ‘cause of it... it won’t fuckin’ get ya anywhere, Grimmjow pursued, not demonstrating much consideration or empathy, but suddenly, completely out of the blue, the espada let out something that was entirely different and maybe meant that at least a small part of him could fathom the pain Renji was enduring : Mournin’ yer old self dat died dere will not help ya. Ain’t gonna tell ya to consider it a gift, even if it made ya who ya are now... but ya can’t let it drag ya down.”

Even himself didn’t get it. Why he then dived back in his own past, before he was found by Aizen and his subordinates, before they made him what he was now. That human appearance, so despicable and undesired, he was now trapped in. He dived back in the wonderful days when everything he knew was what his instincts commanded. If his predatory, still betraying his beastly origins, face tensed, a light tremor agitated his strong scarred hands for a brief moment. A shiver of furious hate. He could still feel the caress if the harsh cold wind against his maw full of blood and raw flash, the sand under his clawed paws... For a moment, he was back there, right where he belonged. ♛

A roar, followed quickly by a bombastic raucous laughter, erupts from the bathroom, following Renji’s scolding. “Ya like it, Red !” and, for a second, the bathroom’s door opens, only for Grimmjow to flip the bird - two birds actually to be exact - at Renji, right before he closes the door again in a loud clash. 

Actually, Jaggerjack is still not done, his rough sun-tanned skin scarcely rinsed and cleaned only, when the door is opened again, this time by Renji bringing him fresh clean clothes. "Ooooh rreally ?..." Grimmjow throws him a savage toothy grin, while he's still trying to get rid of the heavy layer of dirt and blood on his scarred muscular forearms. His gravelly voice turns smokier, even seductive though right after. "Ya know... could use a littl' help... here n dere..." He's clearly referring to his back, to his torso. And the beastly grin on his brash mouth turns into the most seductive smile. Until he starts laughing, ending his own joke himself. "Just messin' with ya. Get yer ass outta here before I kick it Red"

“Yer such a child ya know that?” Renji groans as he gets flipped off - trust in Grimmjow to make that sort of obscene gesture at him. Although, to be fair, Renji has flipped off quite a few people in the past, just... not so directly in their faces and not while he was in the nude.

He stares, unimpressed as Grimmjow makes the proposal. “Do ya need help or not? Cuz if ya need it, I don’t mind helpin’ ya out.” Renji was quite accustomed to seeing other men in the nude - as they had a large bathhouse on the squad barracks and most shinigami took advantage of it after a long day’s worth of work. It wasn’t odd to bathe together, in that aspect. 

“Just lemme say this right now - it ain’t anythin’ sexual. Ya got it? Although with yer horny ass brain, I don’t think ya know what that means.”

♛ Not a single soul in this world or any other - even universe - would ever tell Grimmjow Jaggerjack, the Sexta Espada, ajucha, to “shup up”. For a brief instant, a fugitive second, the beast roared furiously inside, forgetting it was anodyne friendly words even from no one else than Renji Abarai, someone the hunter actually now appreciated... Quite a lot. His revolted pride was screaming internally and he was on the verge of slamming his fist in the redhead’s face, but, instead, hit the counter. How quick he was to snap completely ; he himself knew it. While making a sharp quick gesture, advising Renji for the next seconds to just “shut up” entirely, so he could cool down a bit.

For a minute, the blue-haired choleric man just remained perfectly still, containing the furious rage of his so stupidly wounded ego. Repressing the urge to hit and hit and hit, over and over and over again.

“ ‘Kay... I’m good, he finally let out with a still slightly sharp breath, but his cerulean eyes started to gleam with something else than anger... something like a hint of jealousy perhaps. Wow... Seems sumeon’ had a fuckin’ hard on fer dat Sosuke bastard... Ex taicho thing ?... Grimmjow snarled, apparently in annoyance, but in fact livid with envy and jealousy.

Truth was the espada was eventually so jealous he’d not really expect any kind of answer, in fear of hearing his envious ramblings being confirmed. Still, he downed in quick succession three more drinks of strong alcohol. To try to digest it. Bitter spiteful thoughts on his mind. Aizen really had it all, hadn’t he ? The power, the supremacy and even the... At this thought, Grimmjow’s electric blue, so intriguing yet so scary beastly eyes had narrowed and were contemplating the tattoed redhead sitting next to him. And, like never before, Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez himself, in person, turned away. Snorting loudly, before downing another drink without any hesitation. Square strong jaws, created to chew on strong bones and thick raw flesh, crispated, contracted. Clenching as if not to let go of a prey trapped between them.

- Just can’t stand da bastard... Dat’s all, the hollow tried to dissipate the gloomy heavy atmosphere he had created.

But, of course, his whole attitude changed when Renji, for perhaps the very first time of their “friendship”, started to tell him literally the whole truth about himself. It was such a mark, a testimonial, a proof of trust that it first left Grimmjow entirely speechless. For he had never expected anyone to trust him to any degree actually. They always so much saw him as some untameable unpredictable unattached emotionless vulgar animal, lacking empathy and all. The Sexta didn’t interrupt the shinigami. Not a single time. He just listened, emptying a glass here and there too. At several moments, his straight blue eyebrows practically knitted together or his shark fangs gritted. But that’d be all.

When Abarai ultimately asked for him how he felt about all this, Grimmjow knew he couldn’t bring him what he wanted, he’d not be able to comfort him or help in any way. He didn’t leave though. Instead, still frowning a little, pensively, confused, he barely groaned, in a low raucous voice :

- I just don’t get it... Why yer people do stuff like dat... Where’s da pleasure in it ?... What’s da gain ?” he added with a shrug, referring to the people who had dragged Renji in this whole world of horror and suffering. ♛

How many hours had it been since they started this spar? As Renji stood there, panting for breath, sweating through his uniform and clearly bloody and wounded, he perhaps regretted ever starting this stupid thing.

The asshole that was Grimmjow, of course made it his job to rile Renji up in every and any single way that he could think of. Whether that was making stupid remarks, leaving his shit strewn about in Renji's rather clean and organized room, or just being his usual self. Either way, it had started out like usual, them hanging out, throwing back some drinks on their couch - whatever, casual.

And then... what? They had started arguing about something, so stupid and miniscule that Renji couldn't even remember what anymore. Then it had escalated as both sides refused to give in, the stubborn fools that they were.

Then it had gotten physical, a push and a poke here and there, and then harder and harder until they'd both gone to some remote area of the Rukongai to fully duke it out, blades drawn and all.

Now they were both tired, standing opposite each other on the empty field, hands still grasping their weapons tightly, but neither making a move. With a sigh, Renji sheathed his blade. Now that the anger was out of his body and all that left was a weird ache in his chest that left him breathless - and not because of the spar, he didn't feel like continuing the fight.

As he walked closer to Grimmjow, he could hear the other still shouting profanities and waving his sword at him. Renji just rolled his eyes "Oh my god shut the fuck up!" Seemed like that remark just got Grimmjow more pissed off as he started charging towards Renji.

Why the fuck did this dumbass have to get so heated over everything? Renji dodged the fist that was coming his way, his own hand reaching out to grasp at Grimmjow's wrist, pulling it down and away from his face.

"Just shut up." Those were the last words that Renji uttered before he pressed their lips together. Immediately the other quieted, frozen stiff as he hadn't been expecting it. Before long though, Renji could feel warm lips pressing up against his own, sharp fangs coming out to nibble at his lower lips.

With a guttural growl, Renji wrapped his arms around Grimmjow's waist, pulling him closer. He deepened the kiss, lips and tongue intent on ravishing the panther. Fuck. Grimmjow was warm, hot, and just felt so good.

His lust shot through the roof as he felt Grimmjow give back as good as he got, tongue prying his mouth open, desperate to explore. Renji allowed him to, but not before engaging in a dominance battle of tongues, eventually succumbing to his partner. He moaned into the kiss, feeling his body erupt into shivers.

If this was all it took to keep Grimmjow quiet, then he'd do it every time.

♛ The glance, lingering on his reborn, resurrected you could almost say, limb was not missed by the feline creature, whose glowing cerulean eyes widened oh so slightly before narrowing perceptibly, like a predator’s gaze fixating itself on its prey. Yet, nothing happened. Only that look remaining riveted to the redhead, piercing, penetrating, but not harmful, not confrontational in the end.

Sosuke had been wrong about the beast. As smart as he could be, the so-called self-proclaimed God had just confused dissent with disloyalty. Because Grimmjow, against all odds, proved quite well how looks could be deceiving ; the Pantera was indeed loyal.

“ Seein’ sumthin’ ya like, duh ? Jaggerjack brutally interrupted, barking out a raucous beastly laughter, going as far as to wink at the shinigami, probably hoping to disturb him a little or startle him at least.

His wide stupidly smug grin though dropped as he heard the name of one the persons figuring on his shitlist, maybe at the top of it even. Aizen. The worst asshole this world had ever known, if you were to ask Grimmjow. The hunter groaned loudly, sharp fangs showing as lips curled so far, so angrily, even gingiva appeared.

- Dat fuckin’ bastard certainly doesn’t deserve yer soul, the blue-haired espada spat aggressively, his sharp features contorting in disdain, square jaws clenching rapidly and wrinkles of anger carved between his straight furrowed eyebrows, practically knitted together even out of disgust.

Downing another shot too, as if it’d rince the name of Aizen, as if it’d make it disappear once and for all, like carried away by a wave. In his slightly hazy mind, the question about Renji’s so terrible and heavy secret remained, becoming more and more concrete, denser and denser. More and more of an obsession. Out of the blue, the Sexta turned his head to fully face the redhead, observing attentively his slightly reddened face - alcohol certainly did work more efficiently on shinigamis than hollows. In a curt yet not hurtful tone, almost apprehending the answer, the arrancar cut him instantly :

- Just spit it out Red.” 

It’ll remain ya anyway. Don’t see why I’d hate ya or why would anythin’ change... ♛

♛ “ Huh... Just figured stuff by myself... Ain’t da sharpest tool in da shed as dey say, but still I know how to observe people - especially if they were part of a hunt - n’ draw conclusions. Somewhat saved Inoue once... kinda despite myself but well... Had sum’ kind of debt, as I’d still be missin’ one arm without her... the Sexta obviously begrudgingly recognized, thin lips, usually bloody, curling slightly to show fangs slightly clenched in displeasure and slight shame.

Grimmjow ran a scarred nervous and agile hand through his electric blue hair, always so messy and yet so seemingly perfectly arranged at the same time, contributing to his savage I-don’t-give-a-shit look. Of course, the beastly being that was Jagerjaquez couldn’t care less about such trivial futile things as being good-looking. As if this was something useful in a battle ! But the dumbass still was quite handsome, with his quite primal beauty... that words couldn’t really define. Predatory eyes shone violentely, upon hearing Renji’s next confession. Seeing the redhead apparently so... down awoke something unexpected inside of the beast. Some primitive need to protect... for someone weaker than him and that he secretely cared about.

- If ya can’t... I can. Ya know I like it anyway...”

Killing people. Innocent or not. Hunting them even more. The thrill of the hunt, the hunter patiently tracking its prey until it would corner it and completely overpower it in a brutal demonstration of primal strength, a violent and final display of force, before consuming it. Only Nature at work in its purest form and instincts.

Unfortunately, Jaegerjaquez, or rather the espada, the hollow he was at heart, couldn’t fathom what exactly made Renji so strangely evasive and almost distant right now, what fear could strangle him and prevent him from finally opening up to the hunter. To his hunter in reality, but surely the shinigami could not picture that either. ♛
