i'm like caught between a more narrow jaw style with minimal water resistance and this type which is broader and more robust. but i guess it could reflect different life stages as well and different prey selection (bigger and stronger but slower prey now vs smaller more darting agile prey in earlier life stages). In this case the strategy is to grab and drag underwater or grab and crush, so the lack of premolars on the mandible is kinda not doing it for me but i also don't want to draw anything else there

some barbels to touch stuff better at the murky bottom of the water. there are lake monsters which are more adapted to lentic habitats but our guy is lotic

So I’m not sure if there is any hint of a body under the bandages at all... maybe just a skeleton? Or maybe nothing.(Same with neck) .There is no tail-just a piece of bandage with old papyrus. Perhaps it contains a spell that allows them to stay alive to this day???
