in 2020 we’re going to stop being ashamed of our interests/hyperfixations and be passionate about the things that make us happy without cloaking it in sixteen layers of irony. cringe culture died so that we could all thrive. no exceptions 🌸

Wait guys, here's the best update though...
“fiction is a place suitable for exploring dark topics” and “immoral acts shouldn’t be glorified and normalized in fiction” are statements that can and should coexist
the existance of taboo topics in fiction isn’t the problem, the problem is how that topic is handled and portrayed by the author

This isn't real. You can't just put fake stuff on the internet. I am so upset, because I want this to be real so bad
It can be real if you believe and/or help me break into the louvre
This is very important
make! your! posts! about! accessibility! accessible!
[ID: 7 tweets from eleanor wheeler @elliewheels: 1. queer disabled people exist and we deserve the same access and safety in the queer community as abled queer people. photo attached to the tweet is of a white wheelchair user with a wheelguard painted rainbow, with “make pride accessible” in black. 2. accessibility is not just an inconvenience, it can be extremely dangerous and harmful to disabled people. 3. I’m grateful I got to go the [sic] pride, I just wish I weren’t paying for abled ppls oversight and disregard for disabled ppls safety. 4. all it take is listening to disabled ppl. there should always be disabled ppl on planning committees to ensure safety oversights won’t happen 5. I am often barred from the queer community because of total disregard for accessibility and it sucks. 6. I have every right to the access and safety to queer spaces and pride as any abled queer person does. 7. I just wish the queer community cared more about queer disabled people and fought for us to have our space in the community.]

My favourite comment:
as soon as i figure out whether there’s any practical difference between ‘that’ and ‘which’ in a sentence, you’re all finished
“That” is if the clause specifies which one, “which” is if you’re giving extra information.
“She took the bag that contains the loot” means that she took one of several bags, in particular, the one that happens to contain the loot.
“She took the bag, which contains the loot” means that there’s only one bag you might be referring to, and that the fact that she took it is important because it contains the loot.
Also, there’s a comma before “which” but not before “that.”
you’re all finished
The child of a Mermaid and a Centaur has a 1 in four chance of being a normal human.
and a 1 in 4 chance of being a seahorse
I’m glad we remember our Punnett squares.
This is the stupidest thing I’ve ever made
no language should be mocked other than french
Birds is “oiseaux” in French.
No letter is pronunced the way it should.
And there are seven of them.
ITS PRONOUNCED “WAZO” AND YES, I WILL DIE MAD ABOUT IT
oiseaux hits every vowel in the french alphabet and manages to only be pronounced with 2 goddamn syllables
got vowels coming out the oiseaux
you know a joke that never EVER gets old is when a character says smth like “I will NOT go to [place] and that is FINAL” and then it cuts to them in that place I eat that shit up every single time
Equally good variant: when the character says smth like “what’s the worse that could happen?” and it cuts to a scene where it’s so much worse than what they imagined
Oh, it’s like we stop time, what can I do?
