thank you @j.paul_jackson for performing + creating tonight. your ritual gave me the space to process & celebrate the seismic changes i have been going through lately. with moving, getting promoted, and diving full throttle into creating my own video/dance art and pursuing a filmmaking career again, my life has suddenly transformed into exactly what i want it to be. i am thankful to everyone who has listened & supported me along the way and continues to do so. i'm so glad to be living in austin and i feel like i'm finally finding my niche here. when i moved here i had no identity or connections of any kind outside of my band. i've finally shed that baggage and am conjuring a new reality, one i truly feel comfortable in and inspired by and one that i can take ownership of and have pride in. @altgallery @topologyatx @lpmartgallery

my toulouse lautrec scarf. my dad got it for me, i believe from the met museum catalogue. in high school art class we had an assignment where we made place settings for a favorite artist, a la judy chicago's "the dinner party." i chose toulouse. i've always loved his colorful depictions of the seedy underbelly of parisian nightlife, at least partly due to my middle school obsession with "moulin rouge." this scarf has always been one of my most treasured possessions. i kept my rider waite tarot deck in it for a while, and now i wear it as a headwrap or a belt for my embroidered kimono. #henridetoulouselautrec #postimpressionism #bazlurhmann #moulinrouge #judychicago #artnouveau #modernart #posterart #tarot
