The tragedy of Star Wars is that Anakin Skywalker is truly a good person who is forced to make an impossible choice. Who is made to feel like he has no other option. Who is broken by circumstance and a crumbling galaxy, and the manipulations of someone he thought was his friend.
It says something that Anakin as a child slave with a bomb in his body feels confident enough to talk back and argue with his owner and stops at nothing to aid complete strangers without thought of reward.
Why?
Because his mother taught him that the problem with the galaxy was people simply didn't help each other.
And he had a community that supported him and reinforced those lessons even if they lived on a hell planet and were baring scraping by with a few credits.
Only for Anakin to be taken in on sufferance by the Jedi on the richest planet in the galaxy and have the kindness and connection stamped out of him for the next decade.
For Anakin's start of Darkness, not only does he lose his mother in the first moments of them finding each other again, but his mother dies a horrid, tortuous death through no fault of her own.
It was a surprise he didn't crack the planet.
And the worst, it was completely preventable if any basic form of compassion could be spared to a mother and child that happened not to matter except to each other.
(with hearts in my eyes) i hate him. he sucks so bad
