there’s a bar I go to (more sporadically now than I used to) but it’s a dive bar where the touchtunes most played genres are classic rock and country and I love playing pop punk and whatever else I can find that shakes up the playlist and every time there’s at least one person who either asks me directly if I played the song that’s on (because they know me) or desperately looks around asking who played the song and I have to introduce myself but the thing I doubt anyone there considers is that I pay attention to the people who like what I’m playing and I play those songs because I remember who liked them. if you tell me you love a song it’s getting played the next time I see you. I want us all to have a good time. I want us all to sing, loudly and probably off key, together.
