Hello! As I work towards finally finding myself a publisher/editor, I thought it was due time to challenge myself and share a sample of what I've been working on for the last four years. If you read it, please know you have my eternal gratitude, and if you want to share your thoughts, I welcome them in my inbox. Just don't be rude. The setting is a scifi/fantasy alternate earth. The elevator pitch I've been using to quickly describe the basic concept is it's a mix of Pacific Rim and the Golden Compass.

Series Overview: After a long war that ravaged every country and nation, one man steps in to save the workforce. He introduces his invention: "Beasts." Large metal animals that require a human to "Bond" with them to function. His invention revolutionizes public transportation and job security for the post-war era. However, not all is what it seems to be in Jayton Industires Inc. and secrets have a habit of being revealed in the neon streets of Lestyr, Clofilla.

Book One: Mallya Jayton is tired of never getting what she wants. She is the dutiful daughter, the heiress to the company her father built...and she wants none of it. All she wants is to be a Rider, the one dream her father refuses to fulfill. So, after accidentally Bonding with a top secret Beast, she "rescues" it and runs away. Furious, Harold Jayton gathers a team of Riders to return his troublesome daughter and the crucial property she stole. The team includes: Kaito Shinobi, a Class One and his Right Hand, they will to do whatever it takes to save their father; Daniel Moran, a Class Three with a Beast the company wants to destroy and more secrets than one human form should be able to contain; and Rhea Glynn, a Class Three learning how to live in regular society and desperate to escape her past. The unlikely trio must learn to work together and decide to either bring back Mallya or...let her finally live free.

The pathologization of anger needs to be talked about. What do you mean my therapist is telling me that there’s something “chemically wrong” with me because I am still angry about my mom DYING OF COVID.

“But It’s been 3 years since she died, you have complex grief” yeah and she was on a ventilator for 11 days and she kept writing “I am scared” and “I don’t want to die” on a notepad over and over again. While you were still going out unmasked and unvaccinated and coughing all over each other, I was living a nightmare I couldn’t fucking wake up from.
